Jun 21,2024From the start of our process to the end, Debra K and Rianna O were professional and patient with us. everything was laid out with transparency. Sometimes it took a while to get through but I know they have other clients and dealing with other things. there was an unfortunate incident within RG Law adn I still offer my deepest sympathies but to come out of that and still help me and my wife is true testament to dedication of service. Things took longer than expect but this was of no fault of Debra and Rianna, simply just the other side and a faulty lease, which Debra worked tirelessly to get together and can now appreciate the hard work it took to finalise our sale. We are grateful to them both, and the entire team, for helping us through our journey and as FTBs. The costs were laid out and there were no hidden charges, anything we didn't understand was told to us in a way we could understand and I have learnt a lot about the conveyancing procedures. Thank you to all involved at RG Law.

Jun 19,2024We firstly appointed RG Law to deal with the sale of a house. We then found a new house and used them for the purchase of this. We then also used them for wills and a declaration of trust. Towards the end of the conveyance for the house sale we realized that there was a conflict of interest, the buyer was also using RG Law and RG Law had failed to notify us of this. We would not have used RG Law if we had known about this and therefore wouldn't have used them for the other matters. We told them to continue as it was getting towards the end of a slow conveyance process and didn't want any further delays as a result. RG Law were also very slow to respond and some emails received made little sense. We constantly had to chase RG Law for updates and push them along, they show very little if any proactivity. RG Law asked for us to take out an indemnity policy for something that we didn't really need, we refused to get this policy which didn't affect the sale. RG Law should've told us that it wasn't needed in the first place (maybe the conflict of interest influenced this?) We were also hit with £600 worth of hidden charges (£300 for the sale, £300 for the purchase.) These were "file opening fees" and weren't in the breakdown of costs on the quote. There is some small print that mentions it at the bottom of the quote. It doesn't state that this is added on top of the quote, all other solicitors that I've dealt with have a file opening fee but this is deducted from the final invoice, not added on top. There is also no mention of these fees on RG Laws website: There was about 10 days between exchange and completion. I chased RG Law for a completion statement and this finally arrived with details of how to pay 2 days before completion at 7pm. We promptly setup payment. We were then sent a 2nd completion the following day at 5pm. The amount was £144 more than the one received the previous day, we paid the difference immediately but struggle to understand how they could get the initial invoice so wrong, so late. With regards to the wills; The initial quote for writing our wills was high, we could’ve got these a lot cheaper elsewhere. When queried, we were told about gifting wills that would make it significantly cheaper if we left a gift for cancer research in our wills. We are disappointed that this wasn’t mentioned in the first instance. It helps such a good cause that is very close to our hearts, but it wasn’t mentioned until we queried the price. Why support such a great charity but fail to advertise the fact when quoting? All in all we would recommend avoiding RG Law. People say that moving house is one of the most stressful things that you can do in life. The only stress we had was dealing with RG Law. One last thing, RG Laws complaints procedure states that they will acknowledge receipt of a complaint within 3 working days. It's now been 5 days and I've heard nothing.

It was not a simple one, with the property going through probate, but we could always rely on her to be quick to respond on email/phone when needed in order to get the sale over the line. Amazing service!

Olivia was really great throughout the process - she gave me her direct line on the first day and called me and whenever I would email her I'd get a prompt response, almost always within the hour! She was always happy to answer my questions, no matter how basic they were, and was really flexible when we had to work to tight deadlines es a d some moving dates changed at the last minute due to issues elsewhere in the chain. Overall a really positive conveyancing experience

Thank you to Craig Short our solicitor who was always quick to answer any calls, questions, he was so helpful, available and worked hard to get our contracts exchanged and got us to the completion date in a timely and stress free manner as much as possible. We also felt pricing was reasonable for the service we got. Craig managed to explain things to us whenever we were unsure especially terminology and the legal side of things. Would recommend for his quick turn around, responsiveness and general no faff / on with the job attitude!

The questions went on and on and they managed to get it all sorted in the end. I can't thank or recommend them enough. Bethany Western was my contact at RG Law and she was excellent at keeping me in the loop of where the sale was at and with sorting out the endless questions
