Aug 25,2023We cannot thanks Olivia Lyall enough for helping us with our house move. She was calm and professional throughout the entire process and took away all stress related to the move. We constantly received updates throughout the process and Olivia was quick to come back on any questions we had. Due to difficulties in the chain below us, we had to exchange and complete simultaneously –which we’d heard horror stories about doing. However, Olivia was quick to reassure us and could not have been more helpful and diligent throughout the day keeping us constantly updated. Our two estate agents (selling & buying from) commented that without Olivia, no one in our 5 piece chain would have moved that day. We are now enjoying our new home and it wouldn’t have been possible without Olivia. Thankyou so much Olivia – if we ever move again we’d want to use you!

Aug 21,2023I used RGLaw for the conveyancing as I bought a house. We were cash buyers buying a vacant, well established property. I imagine that to some extent it depends on who is allocated to your case, but I was underwhelmed especially when you consider they are quite expensive. They depend heavily on technology to do business and I gave up trying to speak to the person allocated to me because their phone was never answered and I never met the person. Emails were handled promptly but the quality of writing in the ones that were not obviously generic was often very poor. Their dependence on IT is such that anyone with low skills might struggle. At one point I was required to complete a form by editing a pdf. I’m reasonably comfortable with computers and have a modern Apple laptop, but in the end I resorted to printing the document and completing it by hand then taking it to the RGLaw office in York where a disembodied voice on the entry speaker asked me to put it in the postbox. Having said all that, the purchase went through no quicker or slower than I expected (having moved house 10 times) and I felt confident that everything that should be done had been done. In a nutshell, the service I experienced could be described as competent but impersonal.

Aug 17,2023I have just completed on a property with RG law, and they have been excellent. I used RG law approximately four years ago to buy my first property, which went well. The property was chain free, which made the process straight forward. Four years ago, I was initially allocated to Beatie which was great. But half way through I was reallocated to Jenny (as Beatie was going on maternity leave). Jenny efficiently continued the work that Beatie started and on that occasion everything went as planned. Because of the standard and efficiency of how they handle my conveyance, I recommended RG law to several family members and friends who have since used them and have the same experience (singing their praise). So when I decided to move home last year October, I decided to use them again. Unfortunately, on this occasion I was buying a probate property. Which I was initially informed by the estate agent that the probate will be granted in two weeks, when I made an offer on the property. I was hoping to move into the new home just before Christmas. Christmas came and went and probate was not granted. I waited for seven months patiently for the probate to be granted on this property, but to no avail. During this time Rianna was very good in updating me every other weeks via email or through telephone calls. Beatie was great at chasing and giving me feedback on the progress of the probate as informed by the seller solicitors. When I called to check on the update of the application Akshaye was very helpful in checking and informing on my profile and given me updated. Unfortunately, on the seventh months I decided to pull out of the property and moved on to buy another property which was chain free. This was on the 25th May and I just completed on the 15th of August. My experience overall has been excellent, even though it has not been smooth sailing as planned. Rianna, Beatie and Akshaye were friendly, brilliant and professional. I will continue to recommend RG Law to my family and friends as the know what they are doing.
