Rhode Island Student Loan Authority (RISLA) is a non-profit quasi-state authority that has been providing lower-cost higher education financing solutions since 1981 and free college planning services since 1998. Also provided by RISLA is RIScholarships.org, a free online scholarship search tool to help match students with local scholarships. Additionally, RISLA also offers the Knowledge for College Scholarship, which awards 50 students $2,000 each to help pay for college expenses. For students trying to reduce their interest rates on existing student loans, RISLA also offers low-cost student loan refinancing options. RISLA is with you every step of your college journey, walking you through the college planning process, educating families on obtaining financial aid, and providing tools and resources that help families make informed and responsible borrowing choices to help pay for education.

Aug 12,2023My cosigner has a near perfect credit score, is a disabled veteran and is doing well financially. With all of that, I was still given a high percentage offer. This is a money grabbing organization do not work with them.

Aug 11,2023Amazing customer service. Underwriting came back a few times for additional documents which delayed the process a tad bit. Would have been nice to have them request everything at once. Overall, this was an excellent experience and would highly recommend RISLA to anyone looking to refinance student loans.

Aug 13,2023With my good credit I got a 7% rate on the loan and paying $4000 a year of interest on the loan which is very unfair for a first-year student.
