Mar 26,2024I was in the process of buying my first EV & was looking around for a suitable home charger. All new ground for me. I knew a couple of people with EVs & home chargers & didn't really like the utilitarian, garage forecourt-like chargers they had, even though I was told all worked well. As ours would have to be located on a stone cottage, right by the back door, it mattered how it looked as well as how it worked. Searching on-line I found the AutoExpress reviews on home chargers with the Simpson & Partners charger coming tops. I thought well that's a very smart & stylish looking charger. After further reviews research & looking at the Simpson & Partners website I bought one - which was very simple to do. I also really liked the fact that S&P site stated that your own electrician can fit this & included fitting instructions & even a fitting video. Other makes sites gave me the impression that it was a specialist fitting job that was required. It was easily installed by our electrician who did a super smart job & it looks great and is very easy to use. I'm very pleased I found Simpson & Partners chargers. Top marks!

Mar 16,2024Having bought an EV a little sooner than expected and without first installing an EV charger, I needed to get one supplied and installed as quickly as possible. Seb at Simpson & Partners was incredibly helpful, answering my questions straight away (even proactively calling me rather than just responding to email) and managing to arrange build and delivery of my chosen EV charger (Home 7+) in an incredible 2 days. The charger itself looks even better (and smaller!) in reality than it already looks in the pictures and feels a very well made piece of equipment - even the app is nice to use. Seb also provided details of approved installers in my area and I chose Gary at EV-PV Ltd. who did a really top class install, also helping me out by fitting the job in at short notice. All round a great experience - I recommend both the Simpson & Partners charger and also EV-PV Ltd. for installation if they cover your area.

Mar 15,2024Probably the best EV charger around. Having thoroughly researched the EV chargers I have now settled for the Simpson & Partners. It looks elegant, robust and with all the main features one requires in a EV charger. Most importantly it is 'British made'. Their customer service is excellent, particularly when I required some help on how to connect the Ethernet cable to it. Hoping to get it installed this weekend. My thanks to Chris and Oliver for dealing with my enquiries politely, professionally and promptly.

Feb 09,2024Simpson and Partners Home 7kW Plus review: Having installed the Simpson and Partners Home 7kW Plus charger in June 2023, 8 months of use and interaction with the company, forms the basis of this review: PROS: A compact unit that looks good on the wall Well designed allowing a sleek install and physical ease of use Approachable friendly staff CONS: Solar surplus function not fit for purpose despite several reassurances the problem is close to being resolved, it seems they are struggling with the technology. CONCLUSION: A well designed, aesthetically pleasing unit that does its job as a basic wall charger very well but if you are looking to integrate it with solar panels plus battery storage and want to be able to divert excess solar to an EV then perhaps consider less pretty chargers that offer better functionality and control. If I could buy again in today’s energy market, I would buy the base unit and not bother with diverting solar surplus to the car in the day, instead exporting it all and then buying it back on overnight off peak rates. I will gladly update this review if and when the team at Simpson and Partners are able to crack the code.

Feb 09,2024Charger arrived on time but had a slight bit of damage. Filled online form to report. Got a call the next morning and a replacement part was quickly dispatched . The replacement part was perfect . The charger looks fantastic and I’ve even had comments on how good it looks , you don’t expect a charger to be a talking point but the Simpson charger is just that . Well made and very classy

Feb 07,2024Update following response from the CS rep: a replacement lid was sent and the owner acknowledged that a batch of the product needs an extra layer of varnish so overall, I got what I was looking for, a complete unit that now has no blemishes. Happy with the outcome and therefore to update the original 3 star review Original review:I recently had a less than ideal experience with a Homecharger Homeseries Plus 7Kw charger. I had it ordered and installed through one of their approved installers but on the installation day towards end of December, upon unboxing the unit (combination of dark champagne with charcoal wooden lid), the lid had several blemishes , lacquer missing on part of it…we decided to install with an aim to get a replacement soon after. The original email was not acknowledged at all; after following up mid January with some pictures, the response was that it’s not likely that would have passed their QC process (the installer opened the box in my presence); they sent a replacement that has the same fault so I think there’s a faulty batch of sorts but the response was that that’s just the wood grain…disappointing to see that a good product is let down by sub-standard customer services (I spent almost £800 on the unit so I expect a quality product, without the fear that the lid won’t withstand the outdoor exposure)…
