The reps and hotel staff were outstanding. Genuinely wanted us to get the most out of our holiday. Food was fab at all mealtimes. Hotel was well appointed and really clean. Would definitely recommend Skiworld to friends.😁😁
First time with a new company and a new resort is always a bit daunting, but the whole experience was excellent.
Fantastic chalet and host. I would recommend the introduction of pillow and mattress protectors.
What a fantastic week. Kate and Tom were exceptional hosts who cooked food of the highest quality and always had a smile on their faces. Nathan was great company in the ski van in the morning. The chalet felt very homely and was a great place to relax after a hard days skiing!
I had an amazing holidays with SkiWorld, I would highly recommend Skiworld. It was an amazing value for money for the experience we had! And our host Pete, has been incredile! Thanks again!! Def going to book again next year!
Everyone is human, and everyone makes mistakes. Skiworld (or potentially the travel agent) made a mistake with our booking and our room was double booked. However Skiworld responded to this very well indeed. Upon arrival we were given complimentary food and drinks & upgraded to one of their signature chalets in Val D'Isere, as well as this were given free apres wrist bands and discount cards which you usually have to pay for. The chalet was great, the chalet hosts were great and the food was great. Despite the mix up we had a fantastic week.
We booked our ski world holiday with iglu and they were great. La Plagne chalet guillame was brilliant. Easy transfer straight into clean chalet, greeted with coffee cake and a beer. From that point on Cameron was fantastic great dinners, really friendly and helped when we needed it. Other reps came to say hello give heaving times. I wouldn’t hesitate with travelling with ski world again. Brilliant nothing to complain about.
I've stayed in a number of different resorts with Skiworld and they never disappoint. Chalet and hosts Jenna & Greg were excellent along with the local rep, George. Lech, St Anton and surrounding villages combine to give a fantastic overall ski area. Highly recommended!
I have just returned this Saturday from St Anton where I stayed at the Chalet Baren (Chalet Basic would be a better name!). I thoroughly enjoyed the weeks holiday but it was totally let down by the quality of the accommodation and the people running it. My initial contact with Ski-World was very good and I asked for a twin room/en-suite. All the documentation and pre holiday contact was very good, timely and concise. Upon arrival we found that we had no en-suite and it was in fact a shared shower & cloakrooms situation for the whole floor. Ok, I`m a 58 year old guy who has roughed it around the world a bit, so I`m not totally unused to shared facilities but the two shower cubicles were just about the smallest I`ve ever encountered (If I had taken along a small tabby cat , I could have easily proved any non swinging cat theory to the nth degree!). I could have used the communal shower adjacent to the cubicles but you would have needed to be under 1.25m tall to be able to stand under the shower head due to the excessively sloping roof. Our room contained very little other than a sink, 2 very short and uncomfortable beds (I`m 1.9m tall and my feet overhung the bed by several inches), a reasonable size cupboard, a small mirror and a small table (we never fathomed out where you could lay out two suitcases in the room?) I doubt the room had been decorated in 30 years as neither has the rest of the Chalet either. It`s poorly maintained, poorly furnished and poorly appointed throughout. No TV`s other than one modest rather old looking model with what looked to me to be a VHS video hooked up to it in the lounge ( I never saw anybody use it). Not even a cup or glass in your room and then the rather surprising advice that only two moderate sized towels would be your quota for the week because there was a shortage of towels in the Chalet. You are asked to leave your shoes in the shoe rack and not wear them throughout the Chalet which is fair enough, but the rack is insufficient for everyone’s shoes and why it had to be placed in the entrance hall was beyond me……..a lovely aroma to greet you through the front door with this jumble of sweaty shoes all piled up! Now onto the food…….it seemed to start off OK (nothing great, but OK….short of typical basic fayre). Then at some point during the week the Chef was sacked (we never got to find out why?) and the food rather took a dip in fortunes. I suspect that a few people were sort of `having a go at it` behind the scenes and generally trying their best to produce some food…….dark grey coloured scrambled eggs aren`t a good look though! Breakfasts declined in quality and quantity plus the evening meals seemed to get noticeably smaller and slightly more burnt…….highly roasted potatoes ( I mean those that had undergone a nuclear fusion) were……err, interesting. Now call me old fashioned, but when you get asked by one of the staff half way through the week to leave a good review because it will bolster the staff bonus payments, I find that slightly odd. Everyone was asked at least three times over successive days to do this. My take on a review, is that on balance you have a think about your holiday experience and then post the appropriate comments at the end of your stay? I certainly don`t need to be told that it would help out some peoples cashflow issues! The kitchen seems to be a sort of free run area…..with everyone nipping in and out to retrieve anything they need (milk, butter, sugar etc) which should have been placed out in the communal area but always seemed to be in short supply. My first trip into the kitchen confirmed why possibly the Chef got the bullet….let`s just say that hygiene would have been a long way down the list I think! Interesting post it notes on the fridge…..let`s hope women & children weren’t party to reading some of the more rather expletive of the comments left there! The staff…..what can I say about them? Well, first off, where were they most of the time? You would have seen more staff if you had been staying at a Hotel that was running some sort of a ‘hide & seek’ staff week long competition! The young lady with the dark hair and the rather deep voice appeared twice to my knowledge. She rattled off some random information in double quick fire time (I felt like I was back at Junior school again…..yes, I can just remember that far back). Anyway, she blurted it all and was gone in a jiffy. Young Matt served a lot of the food and seemed a little stressed out at times. The young girl (whose parents were staying at the Chalet) who cleaned the rooms was very pleasant and polite. In fact they were all very nice young people……but who was in charge? I felt rather sorry for them because they didn`t seem to have a lot of direction or help. I was left with the feeling (and I hate to say it, because it makes me sound like the old git that I probably am) that the place was being run by a bunch of kids who hadn`t been trained properly. I suppose the end airport transfer sort of pointed that all out somewhat. I understand why you need to get all people ready in good time to leave, but getting them downstairs by 9.30am, then keeping them waiting an hour before wandering down to the coach park and then another 30 minutes till the coach turns up there and then again to have to sit for 30 minutes on the coach waiting for a family to turn up, I don`t quiet understand. At my age, I could have really done with another 2 hours in bed, in fact at any age after spending a few too many hours in Happy Valley to the early hours! It was hardly worth the bother of getting up for the Continental Breakfast……because there wasn`t any! Unless you consider that cornflakes, half a stick of French bed and tea without milk is one! Anyway, the communication and scheduling all just seemed a bit haphazard to me. Now for the best bits……….the Chalet is in a very good location. You can almost ski in/out and the Nass lift is only a couple of hundred yards away. If you like smoking, then you can find the world’s most smoky pub right next door in Tom Dolleys (aqua lung, mask and nicotine repellent clothing would seem to be a pre-requisite though). The Bier Keller is 50 yards away and is worth a look. And there again if you want to take the short step into the center of St Anton, its about a 15 minute walk (or the bus stops nearby) you can then open yourself up to all manner of craziness (and I strongly recommend that you do!!!). I think we were very lucky to be staying at Chalet Baren when it was full of lovely people. I must say that I have never come across a more convivial and fun group of people all enjoying their skiing and time in St Anton. Thank you all so much for being there at the same time as us. I find it disappointing that it seemed that some people were paying up to £300 more for the week than others and come on Ski-World…….£960 for a week at Chalet Baren….that’s just not good value at all. The place and it`s organisation just needs a complete shake up from top to bottom. Regards, Paul
Good trip to Zermatt, all the transfer stages went well
My first ever Ski holiday and was really enjoyable. Had a terrible transfer experience as a two hour transfer took six hours and coach driver would not allow travellers to use the onboard toilet and some women had to leave the coach and have a comfort break in road side bushes! Traffic was horrendous! The chalet was great and facilities in the resort of Alpe d' Huez.. Chalet staff were excellent and meals delicious. The chalet hosts are the face of Ski World and Sophie was an amazing . Again the transfer back to the airport was problematic with not enough space for skis and luggage in the storage area and cases were placed on seats inside the coach.
The chalet host was wonderful, lovely , pleasant, great cook. The chalet was comfortable and nice . The only grumble I have is to the coach driver . On our way there was a 6 hour delay due to an accident and the driver would not let anyone use the toilet facility. On the way back the coach was not big enough and our luggage had ito be placed in the isle and on the seats . The coach drive left everyone to do this themselves .
Ruth, out chalet host was amazing and a superb cook, Callum also great. Victoria who helped with the booking was ace. Thanks to all
Chalet was good but return transfer was poor. Wrong size coach with luggage stacked up in aisles and the emergency exit steps, no explanation from the rep!
Val Thorens was an excellent resort. Didn't disappoint. The chalet caron was very good and perfectly suited to our needs. Perfect location. All guests had s private bathroom. The service provided by our Host Mimi was exceptional. We highly recommend this chalet.
The chalet was excellently situated for easy access to the ski lift in Zug. The chalet was well-appointed, clean and comfortable and the chalet hosts were first-rate.
Skiworld massively exceeded our expectations particularly given the service and price. Everything was great from a modern chalet to the hosts and the food. Would most certainly recommend and we will look to book again with them over other snow holiday operators.
We hired this chalet as a group of 12, which made it exclusive to our group. It's ski in and a couple of hundred metre walk to the nearest lift for starting the day. We had a mixed group of boarders And skiers and 1 converted skier on his first year as a boarder. Plenty of blues for beginners. The top of the mountain, pic blanc. was very chopped up for most of the holiday and full of moguls which just drained you legs but the rest of the slopes were bashed every couple of days. Chalet hosts were very accommodating and put up with our nonsense. Some of the upstairs rooms still had bath with shower head attachment but I think downstairs was fully updated with walk in showers Food was good. Weather was good. If the weather wasn't good there didn't seem much to do but we were lucky enough to have snow at night and only a few cloudy days. Would highly recommend this chalet/ resort.
Our chalet exceeded all our expectations and with the addition of a wonderful chalet host and chalet manager (Monique and Ellie) our stay was brilliant. The food was excellent and the host provided valuable local information and aided in booking evening events.

Mar 20,2018Would have given 5 but the bedrooms had no locks, no safes, and the only tv in the house only had French channels. No satellite channels.
