DO NOT USE!!! I inherited my dog with this microchip and months later he wandered off through a bit of loose fencing (his collar was still drying after being sterilised after rolling in something disgusting) and a neighbour took him to the local vet who scanned him and when they called smart trace to get my details they said they could not share my contact details for 48 HOURS. Fortunately they had seen a post on facebook and called me and I confirmed his chip info but ordinary they would not release him without the chip company confirming. I was utterly devastated in the hours where he was missing and the thought of not knowing where he was for 48 hours is unimaginable. I had been running up and down streets shouting his name in 30 degree heat and crying my eyes out, i cannot fathom why they would withhold information from the pet owner. The vet recommended petlog so i will be transferring him over
Bought a wonderful puppy and was trying to transfer from breeder to owner - these rip off merchants want £25 for the privilege my other dog was through identibase and free disgraceful especially when the breeder was told it would be free ... on registering Lily (£25 later) the registration certificate came through with incorrect information on says Lily's date of birth is the microchipping date and the microchip date her date of birth ?? how? been trying for hours to try and contact yourselves through "chat to us" leave a message phone calls what a waste of time never in my life have I had so much trouble trying and failing to contact anyone just hope my baby never wanders off as I have zero faith in you or your product to find her ..... my advice to anyone is to stay away from these rip of merchants and find a company that actually cares about your pets and not in it just for the money ....

Had a bit of a problem with registration as my breeder gave me the wrong microchip number, but thanks to Bree the problem was easly fix very much appreciated.
Working for an animal rescue charity, I deal with the transfer of multiple chips. When a chip comes up as a Smarttrace chip, I groan! A far from straightforward system to navigate via their recently changed website, and a minimum charge of £20 to transfer the chip (which the adopter of the animal will not be expecting) make this one of the worst companies to deal with.

Bree and Joanne have replied to every email I’ve sent regarding getting my dog back home. Both Joanne and Bree both the same Helping me, answering any questions and giving me advise, I cannot fault them. I am just waiting still to get Roxy back home with me. Oh, I know that either Bree or Joanne will be there to help me if and when needed in the close future. I need to thank them both. I’m positive that my Roxy will be home soon.
