It took months/years of looking to future proof our home and make easier access from garage to upper level living area. Dismissing chair stair lifts, as in the way, slow, ugly, and, probably, the first thought, if you have to sell, of purchasers wanting it removed. The design, all self contained, with only a 13A socket needed for power, was so sensible. I read everything on it, visited the warehouse to see construction, asked many questions in person and phone, and visited installations of two helpful customers, without a hovering Stiltz salesperson. Needless to say l was convinced enough to buy a Trio, thinking wheelchair access makes it more useful. The large hole being cut was a major concern, but they'd worked it all out, and l don't know why l worried. I didn't have pipes or cables in the way though. I had to have a shaft built round the structure, in the garage, for obvious safety reasons. All official consent was done by Stiltz. All was done to a very good standard, and 3 years later l still look at it and think a job well done. The upper room is our conservatory with laminate floor. The hole was cut, and the cut out sections of laminate fixed on the 'stopper', to blend in when the lift is lowered to the garage. Our metalwork is white. Initially l was told you could have any colour to match your room's colours. That's not the case, and the yellow on their chart was nothing like our yellow, so didn't do it. We've had a couple of problems. The first was the lift stopped, in about 2" going down. No one was in it, but we found the door wouldn't come off in that position. A company can often let down it's customers by how they deal with a problem. We are future proofing, so don't actually need a lift for physical problems, but l felt, in the extreme scenario, if l was stuck, in a wheelchair in the lift, alone in the house, an engineer would be with me in afew hours. Just have a phone in the lift, and have a hidden house key outside. If my lift stops like before, the door can now be easily taken off, and wouldn't be much of a problem. I have a service plan, and second problem was found then, that the battery system is faulty. This is supposed to switch in if mains power is lost. It allows the lift to lower down, so you're not trapped inside. This still doesn't work, and l will mention it in the next service. However, what are the chances of being in the lift when mains power goes off. You'd have to be very unlucky. All the Stiltz staff l've met, and talked to over the phone, have been pleasant and/or helpful. No pushy salesperson. I believe it to be an asset to my home, and, depending where you put it, could increase your properties worth, and/or speed up selling to a wider range of people. I, obviously, have a vested interest in keeping the company going, for servicing, but l really hope people see the simplicity of the design to fit into places you wouldn't think you'd get a lift in. It's not Hotel standard, but it doesn't come with those costs either. I was deciding whether to give 4 or 5 stars, due to the problems, but decided, in the end, it was nearer to 5.

We had a Stiltz Lift installed recently for Mum. It has been a life-saver and peace of mind knowing that she can access upstairs without the worry of falling. The builders and installers were so neat and tidy. Excellent company. Would definitely recommend. Thank you.

Excellent service all through from the survey to the fitting of the lift. Just one moan the material on the floor of the lift appears to be Felt rather than carpet

Needs further development, keeping the buttons pressed to maintain the lift operating is tough a single press would be welcome. The light curtains come unstuck and partially fall out and the remote button control frequently loses contact with the lift hence the need for a single push of the buttons to make the lift move in the direction needed. I don't think Stiltz have taken on board my comments as no feedback from them. Apart from all the niggles its smart, quiet, bright and apart from all the stop starts reliable.

Our Stiltz lift is a raving success. It's proved 100% reliable since it was installed 2 years ago, and it's smooth and quiet in use. Yes, "Stiltz" comes in handy for moving suitcases, chairs, laundry as well as us and house guests. Five stars and total recommendation Ella & Rod Pybus

The Stiltz lift has been invaluable. Earlier this year I had a total knee replacement and would have been unable to get upstairs. Since then my wife has suffered with acute kidney problems....stays in bed most mornings so the Stiltz has enabled me to take her breakfast up each day. Happy to show our lift to anyone interested in this area...Ernie Payne

I needed a lift installing urgently into our home as my husband had taken seriously ill. I knew it was the only way to get him home from hospital to recover fully at home. Stiltz gave me a great service during a particularly worrying period. We only used the lift for approximately 3 months as my husband has grown in strength but it is there as a fallback as we get older. A great decision to have it installed and it’s futureproofed our home.

We have owned a lift since February 2016, installed so my wife did not have to struggle with the stairs. As we are both pensioners it will allow us to live in the same house that we have renovated over the years.

The Stiltz Duo Lift we have installed in our home has made a huge improvement in our lives. It is an exceptionally well thought out device, which is amazingly unobtrusive. When parked in the 'up' position one is almost unaware in the hall that there is a lift. The controls are very simple and the safety locks are easy to understand. It is almost impossible to fault anything about this lift and I have no hesitation in highly recommending it. The very professional building works and installation were a pleasure to experience, in fact so much so that we were sorry when the job was finished.

We recently had a Stilz duo lift installed. We were extremely happy with the whole experience. They did a very efficient survey and then both the carpenters and the electrician worked very well together tidying up after themselves. The lift itself was extremely well fitted in less than a day and has been working excellently ever since. It gets used at least 3 or 4 times a day. Nicholas & Lavinia Wallop

We decided we needed a lift fitted to 'future' proof our 'home for life'. We started with a google search: we definitely didn't want a stair lift. We needed a lift that would possibly take a wheel chair in the future, and with a good load capacity. We needed a lift that went flush to the floor with no step or additional ramp to entry. We also wanted a lift that would look stylish, and could be put away when not in use. Stiltz fulfilled all our requirements. We started with the idea of fitting the lift within our home, but were able instead to incorporate it within a new extension. We had an initial upset when we discovered that the old model stiltz trio we originally ordered had a 10 cm 'step'. A visit from a Stiltz representative within three hours sorted this: we had to have the opening adjusted by the builder, but the new design met all our needs. We were one of the first customers in England to have the new Lifton trio fitted, in January 2019. Stiltz provided all the technical data our architect and builder needed to create the required opening between floors as part of the new build. We had some local difficulty when the builder did not appreciate that the opening was a precise measurement, not just a guide. Our lesson from that would be, if you are having one installed in an existing property, have the knock through and preparation done by someone recommended by Stltz who understands the required precision. We decided to have the lift installed 45 cm away from the back wall. This has allowed us to build book shelves and cupboards on both levels which we can access when the lift is on the other floor. It means there is no wasted space. The lift was installed over two days: it took a little longer than usual because we hosted a television crew making a programme about the lift. The work was efficiently done, and the house left immaculate. The lift is quiet when in use, travels smoothly, and at a reasonable pace. The lift has polycarbonate clear walls, which seem very strong. If the lift is in the room with you, it becomes invisible. Two remote controls are provided, so you can chose to park the lift on the opposite floor. When the lift is on the other floor, you see only two smooth grey vertical poles. Upstairs, if you send the lift down, a floor plate drops into position. This is finished to match the upper floor finish: in our case, the bedroom carpet. The floor is then just as solid to walk on as the rest of your floor. All the mechanism for the lift is within the 'car' roof and floor. The only external signs are the two posts, a 13amp plug, and a plate on the ceiling upstairs between the two posts. The lift is supplied with a mobile phone in case of emergency. It resides in a little cupboard, permanently on charge. We have had the engineer when a panel worked loose: the support visit was made within three hours of the call, issue resolved by very pleasant and courteous engineer, and everything left clean and tidy. We have decided for our own peace of mind to take the service plan, with annual service and any emergency call out and parts included. We use it a lot, to move things like washing, suitcases etc between floors, as well as ourselves. And our cat loves it! In the mornings, she comes upstairs and waits patiently by the lift door so she can ride down with us! Luckily the lift has a very sensitive floor plate which stops if she is sitting above it when it goes up, or sitting under it when it goes down. Yes, I am very happy with our decision to install a Lifton trio. No, I'm not an employee or a shareholder, or otherwise benefitting from this review. Yes, I will be happy to let anyone thinking of installing a lift to come and meet us and try it out.

This company quotes good prices. But when I called no dealer they have would come to my area at Lake of the Ozark Mo. They also wouldn't even give me the name of there dealers. They don't sell to the public even with out a dealer network in the area. I did find an elevator company that has there unit on there web site in my location and would sell and install me one. To bad they can't get dealer price so it costs 10,000 more for the same item. They will let a company buy one but not me. This company is playing both sides on sales with dealer BS and sticking the customer with the price spread. Then boasting how they are so much cheaper than everyone else and beware of others prices. To bad I wanted one at the lower rate. I can't be a customer because they won't sell to me and when they quote to country home in mo it costs way more because there dealers in Kansas and mo don't service the lake area in mo They must not have checked to hard. I called muilt times 1-844-478-4589. I even had one of there dealers in sc willing to sell and drop ship it to me at the right price but that was a no go. They have my name on record when I call seems strange this ceo can't find it. Maybe they need new ceo's. Just goes to reinforce I am right and he is wrong. You might want to call pa again or better yet have your guy in the US call me.

Terrible company. Rude workmen. Do not respond to complaints - apparently they are too small to provide assurance to a customer expected to spends many thousands of pounds with them (on average). Avoid.

I wanted to write a review as when we looked into lifts for my mum I looked for reviews on lift companies and there were not many out there. We arranged 3 quotes from different companies and not only was this company very competitive but the sales person turned up on time, was polite and listened to my parents requirements. He left us with brochures to peruse and there was no hard selling and no decisions to be made there and then. The best idea they have is not having to traipse to a showroom or store but to be allowed to actually visit a previous customer who has a lift installed. This is at a convenient time to both parties and no-one from the company, so you are able to chat freely and find out how happy they are with their lift and the service. The lift was fitted some months ago - in an office room to the side of the stairs so that most visitors don't even see it and mum is now much more mobile around the house. It is smaller than most of the other home lifts out there and works from the plug socket nearby. The extras like a flip down seat, light, carpet, rails and door were included in the price. Piece of mind for the rest of us as we know she now won't fall down the stairs.
