The most amazing foundation to life coaching weekend. Fabulous trainers full of experience and energy. A truly wonderful experience meeting the other people giving up a weekend to do something to change their own and others lives in a positive way. All for free as well! 😃
I signed up for the Diploma in Personal Performance Coaching after the two day event. I am currently 2/3 of the way through, and understand now why coaching needs to be regulated - the course has shown me how the industry is awash with quasi-gurus with no real training apart from good ideas, a belief in the Law of Attraction and a bunch of Tony Robbins books. It's not cheap, so I would recommend that, if you don't get investment or a bursary, then think carefully if it's the right thing for you -- I know of people who signed up for this, and then did nothing! Anyway, during the two day event they admitted quite openly that it was being held for marketing purposes - there were no lies and regardless of that I still went away with good foundation knowledge about coaching as it really is. I'd definitely recommend the two day course, even if you don't wish to continue to do the full training. In the last few months I have developed as a coach, understand people a lot more, can communicate way more effectively, and am on my way to setting up a practice by the end of the summer. If you are looking for a career in coaching you can't do much better -- but because there are so many people doing it you will need to be good and you should really have your own house in order. Therefore, my advice would be to attend the event, but put the idea on ice and don't get caught up in a flurry of excitement -- sign up in your time, not theirs, just to make sure it's something you really want to do.
I only got as far as the call centre. But I was surprised that for a 'listening' coaching company how rigid they were. I repeatedly said that I had prior coaching training and experience from an employer yet they insisted that I 'had' to go on a free two-day coaching course before the training. Also, the training is over £4000 so I would certainly shop around before approaching them. Update (8/7/19) - A year and a half after writing my original review, the Coaching academy have just contacted me through Trust Pilot, they said, and this highlights my point about there questionable 'listening' or in this case 'understanding' capabilities: "We don't find your comments suitable as you have not attended our foundation course. Trust Pilot confirms that reviewers have tried the service before reviewing it. Can you confirm your registration details and date of attendance?" I respond that the customer's experience doesn't only count once they have paid for something but actually starts when they first engage with a company. It is this experience that I have shared on Trust Pilot. Incidentally, it seems odd that The Coaching Academy tell me that I didn't go on a course yet ask me which course I went on. Hmmm.

Jul 23,2019Very nice course which in friendly and professional in the same time atmosphere give you brief overview what is couching about and if it's something you can consider for yourself. Otherwise some of techniques you can use in your daily life.
