We have been worried sick about our cat over the last week wandering why he wouldn't eat wet food. Well after doing research it turns out they have changed the recipe. Absolutely disgusted in whiskas

Reduction in size and the new fish recipes stink the house out! Won’t be buying again.

Scandalous reduction from 100g to 85g but still charging the same price. What fools this company believes their customers to be. There are plenty of other cat foods on the market and hopefully more honourable producers. Shame on you!

Cat been on 7+ sachets for years. Now is sick everytime she eats them. Not impressed with the smaller packets but changing the recipe to make our cats ill is not acceptable 😥

Whiskas have changed from 100g to 85g pouches. Reason given cats weight. They have kept the same price though. Wow. That’s rubbish my cats have wet and dry food and are very healthy weight (weighed at vets 6 monthly). They have Lost a customer and I hope everyone else will do the same. I’m weaning my cats off as I review. Update. MY CATS ARE NOW NOT EATING…WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

I'm disgusted that Whiskas have seen fit to reduce the size of their pouches to 85gms. No wonder I've had to supplement their food. Shan't be buying Whiskas again. The new recipe is also a different texture and doesn't seem as substantial. In addition, the box of 80 pouches was more expensive than buying 2 x 40 packs.

Tut-tut Mars! 100g cat food puches shaved to 85g, yet the price continues to increase. I understand the industry call this shrinkflation. 6 hungry cats and we have worried something is wrong. Off to look for a substitute - you are not the only cat food manufacturers...

I've only just noticed the Whiskas cat food pouches have shrunk from 100g to 85g. I was wondering why my cats were constantly hungry and begging for food. Did I miss a notice about this? Did they inform buyers so that we don't inadvertently under feed our pets? The price has risen over the last 6 months by £££s so we're getting fooled twice. I won't stand for it, I'm changing brand. I'd rather go for store brand than be ripped off. If I take time and start by mixing the foods for a while my cats should acclimatise to the new food. Whiskas can take a running jump.

I have purchased four boxes of the new kitten food in pouches and so far I have put it all in the bin. The cat will not eat any of it. I have tired all of the different flavours and the cat will not eat any of it. Totally disappointed and cost a fortune.

Whiskers wet cat food was the only type one of my cats would tuck into HOWEVER whatever has changed with the recipe has caused both my cats to completely walk away. Neither of them would even try it,which is shocking. I'm very concerned what has been added that it doesn't even smell right. Very sad about this and this was with all 3 meat varieties in their tins, not just one type. I haven't tried the fish tins this time but i'm guessing they will have the same result. Whiskers need to check this out.

Wow, 100g reduced to 85g. Cat needing emergency operation last year and I, against all odds have decided to put him first with his needs. Based on this reduction is size the additional costs to keep in solely in Whiskas has increased by £137 per year and this does not include the price of the box hiking up by over 50p. Awful - never mind heat or eat, my feline is getting ripped of.

Original Review 24/02/23....Well, once again Whiskas in their infinite wisdom have let their customers and cats down! My cat (domestic shorthair) used to eat the 11+ but lately refused to eat it, she'd just turn her nose up at it, when you open the packet it smells rank. I changed her to the 7+ and that was fine until she started to refuse that. I went to the 1+ boxes and that was fine until the boxes changed and now she refuses that. I had originally been giving her felix but they changed their recipe and that made her violently sick. She will not eat any other brand and will often go hungry until I travel half way round the county to find an old style box of whiskas 11+ which is becoming more difficult to find. I have used the contact form on the Whiskas website a few days ago to notify them of my concerns but I doubt I will hear anything back as I don't think they care, now I am stuck with boxes and boxes of the new style catfood that even the stray cats will not eat. In my honest opinion I would say just avoid Whiskas from now on, if you can find something else you cat will eat then go with that. Edited 23/03/23 - Got reply from Mars Petcare Yesterday over a month after I complained. I have replied to them raising a few 'points' So in a nutshell, the old stock of Whiskas is no more, it's just the new stuff that no cats are eating. She advised there was a research by the Waltham Petcare Science Institute (Owned by Mars Petcare of course (If you google it you'll see)) that a pouch of 80-85g of food was supported by them with dry cat food. She went on to say there is a feeding guideline and weight management on the pack and if I was unsure how much to feed my cat she recommends to contact my vet!?!?!?! I know how much to feed my cat, thank you very much!! She said there was no issue with the food so I was getting no compensation for all the left over boxes I had, I said that's fine I am not buying Mars Petcare products anymore ever. I said to her to come to this page and have a look at the reviews here and see what people think of whiskas ;-) Let's see if they do, though nothing will change but it might open someone's eyes there.

What on earth have you done to Whiskers??!! It used to be my cats favourite Brand - NOT NOW! It has actually caused her to fart continuously and she looks unhappy, not surprisingly!! - what the hell is in it?!! Not a problem any more as she has stopped eating it entirely, but that leaves me with 4 half opened boxes at £4.49 a go to dispose of not to mention the wasted pouches! 3 Months ago it was £3.29 for a Box of 12 x 100g of original recipe - now £4.49 for 85g - what a bloody rip off for a product that's not fit for purpose. This is a problem for me as I am unemployed and I need to feed my cat! How was this new recipe approved? They have all the same problem and surely they have noticed that the Gravy one is now disgusting slurry!! Surely Pet food isn't meant to make pets ill. I WON'T BE GETTING WHISKERS AGAIN AFTER MANY YEARS AS A REGULAR CAT FOOD!! I'm Fuming! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Another Sick cat due to Whiskas new recipe pouches. This New Whiskas has Caused my cat terrible sickness and now she won’t go near Whiskas Cat food. We’ve purchased this brand for years but spent the past week trying to introduce different brands. I’m Now using other cat food brands as I definitely won’t be buying Whiskas products again due to the new recipe being the cause of my cats recent sickness. Bad move Whiskas/Mars😾 I really hope other cats do not need to suffer with this terrible sickness as mine have 😾

Really not impressed with the new recipe that ‘every cat will love’ apparently! Not mine! He’s refusing to eat it & when he finally got hungry enough & caved, he had an upset tummy - so now I feel awful for forcing him. A little bit of warning would have been nice!! I had to rush out & grab the last box I could find of the old recipe so I could transition him onto a new brand…Felix! My cat has a really sensitive stomach & it took me ages to find a food he could tolerate & now thanks to this, I’m back to square one again. One thing’s for sure, my boy won’t be touching Whiskas ever again! As a pet brand they should realise how important it is to announce these changes in advance! I’m only seeing the new advert now all the old stock is off the shelves. Completely thoughtless rebranding!

We have fed our cat Whiskas for years graduating through standard pouches to the 7+ and then onto the 11+ when they first became available. I noticed in mid January that the 11+ pouches were marked as "new" which seemed strange having purchased them for several years but looked over the box and couldn't see anything obviously different. After spending a few weeks worry about why our cat now seemed to be hungry all the time I discovered today that actually the pouches are now 85g not the previous 100g which is why they are "new". We had inadvertantly cut our cat's food intake by 15%. Absolutely fuming as this isn't communicated clearly by Whiskas at all. Additionaly the whole point in the pouches was convenience over having an open tin, 1 pouch = 1 meal, but now I'm supposed to have open pouches hanging around quater or half used? No thanks, I'll top up her food with other brand crunch and try very hard to find a senior substitute for her to eat now. Any future cats will NOT be fed Whiskas. Trust = destroyed.

I went to buy the usual pack of whiskers to find the sachets have been reduced in size from 100g to 85g! But to add insult to injury they have kept the price the same! Absolutely robbing customers blind. But the crafty, deceitful way they've done it has infuriated me. They've changed the packaging and the recipe hoping to disguise the fact they've reduced the size! As mentioned in previous reviews my cats won't even eat it. I will now try another brand. Whiskers have lost my custom, I hope a few more customers stop buying their products and the profits plummet Shocking.

What on earth is going on with the new Whiskas? I know we have had major issues getting it in regular supply in NI due to Brexit but after the recipe change it’s not been too bad, however my cat who is about 18 months really isn’t very well.. he’s now refusing to touch the meat at all.. keeps being sick and isn’t himself at all… feed about 13 feral cats as well who have def gone off it too.. does anyone have any recommendations on what else to feed as he’s really fussy and has tummy issues as it is?

I contacted Whiskas and apparently, according to them, this is their tastiest recipe ever! My cat loved it before they changed it, but won't touch it now, she actually gags at the smell of it. I won't be buying it again. Whiskas need to start listening to their customers, but frankly the impression I got is they couldn't care less. They event tried to claim the reduction in weight is for the good of the cat's health. It's all about profit more like. I suspect they're going to lose a lot of customers over this.
