Everything was great specially the bus driver.
I loved it so much it was a great trip and I learned so much I wish it was longer.
Our tour guides were very flexible and willing to pivot when our trip was interrupted by a snowstorm and we had to make some alternative last minute plans.
Despite the rain and snow we encountered, our tour guide Sheri did a phenomenal job providing an educational experience. Our students loved her.
The tour guide cheri was very helpful and fun. I do wish we had a little more freedom to chose what we do.
Tour Guide was kind, knowledgeable, and super organized.
Costa Rica with Explorica was amazing! I loved being able to travel with a group of experienced travelers who could offer many great tips about leading a group of students in another country. Costa Rica is beautiful and I feel as though many of the events and excursions helped us to experience and see what the country is like and what it has to offer.
It seems like communication between our school and WS was not the best. Once we got to Costa Rica the people in charge (WS) were not aware of some activities that were canceled on our side. It also seems like guides were not completely organized with groups regarding hotels and buses.
Our tour guide was excellent. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The itinerary included lots of engaging activities for our whole group. After this experience, I would recommend any teachers looking to set up a trip for their students to work with Explorica/WorldStrides.
WorldStrides provided us with an amazing, unforgettable experience to Washington DC. All of the representatives/employees were very helpful and friendly. Our tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable! We ended up spending an extra day in DC due to cancelled flights because of weather, and our guide arranged a tour of the Capitol for that day that was not on the original itinerary. He also made some calls to the office of our local representative and arranged for us to be able to go sit in the House and Senate gallery and observe the members "in action." This was an incredible experience for our students. We also had to spend 2 additional nights in the hotel due to flight cancellations and WorldStrides made sure all of us had rooms available. I am so glad that I decided to attend this trip with my entire family because it was absolutely incredible and one we will never forget! I highly recommend WorldStrides to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience and wonderful learning opportunity.
The trip was full with inconsistencies from the start. First, we had a change of representative midway through the planning process. Additionally, we received information about hotels, buses, and on-site logistics extremely late, almost two weeks before the trip. There was also a lot of misinformation regarding activities and accommodations. For instance, we had informed the organizers from the beginning that our school was not permitted to participate in water activities, yet these were still included and paid for. The coach guide were unaware of this. As a result, we had extra unplanned time, which ended up being boring for the students. We were told that we would arrive to San Jose and depart from San Jose, this did not happen, causing a lot of confusion amongst parents, teachers, and students. We needed to request our stipend money when this is something World Strides should take care of. Etcetera, it is a long list of misinformation and inconsistencies that led to frustration a=prior to and during the trip.
Our tour guy "Rey" Was the funnest and kindest tour guide ever. He was so patient for us and when he refered to us as "familia" it was really kind.
We have used WorldStrides two years in a row, and they are always available and always helpful. If they don't know the answer to a problem, they will figure it out. This year, we had several hiccups while traveling to Africa. The first bit of trouble was completely the fault of one our travelers registering improperly, but worldstrides did not care whose fault it was. They were immediately trying to find ways to solve the issue. Our plane was boarding, but we could not get our entire group on the plane. It was a crazy few minutes, but with the help of our personal worldstrides representative and the emergency number, we were able to get it all settled and our entire group made it to Africa on time. Our second bit of trouble happened in an airport in Ethiopia. We could not get through a security line in time for our flight and were in danger of missing our flight. Again, Michael Edelstein to the rescue! I texted him when I could not get any help from anyone, and he immediately started pulling out all of his tricks in traveling. We barely made our flight, but we would probably still be standing in the airport right now without his fast thinking and help. As I stated previously, this was our second trip with WorldStrides and both were service leadership trips at Camps International locations. I cannot say enough great things about all of the workers at Camps International. From our tour directors to the camp cooks, everyone was fantastic, kind, personable, and knowledgeable. We felt safe and secure in all of our journeys outside camp and our accommodations were rustic, but well taken care of. It was exactly what we anticipated after last year's trip to Costa Rica. It has all been so well planned and thought out that when an administrator asked us to try another company, we said no way. I won't travel with anyone else. Thank you World Strides! And thank you Camps International. We have loved every minute of our time working and traveling with you.
I have traveled to another country with Worldstrides and found it to be very well structured. However, I went on a trip to Costa Rica, and although the destinations and activities were excellent, there were changes in the program, in terms of reservations, which modified the plans and eventually the return trip at the last minute. Between the guides and the school team in charge, all the problems were sorted out, but in principle, these situations did not have to occur. There were omissions such as the fact that no water activities had been agreed upon, and they were planned on at least two of the days of the trip. The return to the airport had to be made from a remote location, 4 hours away, instead of from the hotel 10 minutes away that had originally been agreed upon in the itinerary. The experience with the provider, in terms of the destinations, seems very different to me, which does not make sense to me, since security is imperative when contracting an event like this.
Kids came back extremly tired, too many thing to do in a short time, plus the long travel from one site to another, also de hotels didnt have hot water in the showers and the air conditionings werent working as well. Too expensive for the quality of food and hotels. It is also important to do number of activites according to the age group.
I really liked the locations, the bus, our guide, and the driver. The food in all locations was very good, although a bit repetitive. Some highlights were the community service at the public school in Monteverde, the cloud forest, Children's Eternal Forest, the ranatorium and the Pineapple Tours where the guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. For me, some of the frustrations included not having a solid itinerary, having free time without an activity planned, having two of our three groups overlap at the same place, joining our three groups together so that 115 kids are eating at the same place, and driving 2-3 hours to a place that we would only visit for one hour. In summary, Costa Rica is beautiful. We saw many animals and our children had opportunities to connect to nature. With better communication we could have taken more advantage of our time and enjoyed Costa Rica even more.
Great experience and lots of fun. Felt safe.
The outside activities were very good and fun. The hotels weren't that great though.
The Worldstride guides we had were absolutely fantastic!
