Sep 24,2024I booked this hire on line from the UK, which always makes me a little nervous when it is for another country but I didn't need to worry. Communication right from the start was good, clear and detailed. I had all the info I needed and when the day came, Athena sent me a WhatsApp to let me know she was in reception (and even a few minutes early). She was super helpful, very clear and explained everything. The car was fine, and once returned my deposit was promptly returned. Top class service from start to finish and at a reasonable price too.

Sep 24,2024Zest have faultless communications in my recent experience, whether it's before rental, after rental or at anytime when there's a query during the rental- prices were the best I could find online and their customer services do everything possible to explain the true position with top up insurances (i took Zest's own which seemed both very competitive and sufficiently comprehensive, albeit I had no cause to use it fortunately). I highly & unreservedly recommend Zest!

Sep 24,2024This is the second time this year we have used Zest.(Cyprus & Faro Portugal.) We found booking easy and we were reassured by the insurance we could add, that the hold on your credit card was low, that drivers up to 80 were covered and there was no extra charge for a second driver. Excellent and will use again.

Prices were excellent. Overall this was one of the best car rental experiences I have had, with no stress or hassles.

Sep 23,2024I’ve used Zest for a number of years now and their local partner LC Rent in Faro. The check in and check process is very slick, even when there’s a queue. The cars have always been very reliable and the price very competitive. I will use them again for future trips.

The vehicle provider, Keddy Norway/Europcar, was great! Customer service was friendly, the handover and return was fast! The vehicle I received had no problems at all, it was a great drive! Will definitely rent again if there's an opportunity!

Sep 23,2024I used Zest car rental on a recent trip to Corfu. The paperwork said that someone would be there to greet us from our flight at arrivals from Acarent. No one was there so we waited around 30 minutes and then rang the local office. Around 20 minutes later someone arrived. On arrival at the local office we were expecting to pay a €35 late return fee as our flight was at 6am. We were told this could not be done, despite this being pre-arranged through Zest. Zest customer service then became involved. We were then asked to pay €60 by Acarent and were assured by Zest that this would be sorted if I email a copy of my receipt (which I did the next day). I've been back two weeks and still have not been refunded the difference. I then had issues with my deposit not being fully refunded (-£70!), I think, due to the method it was taken/refunded. On previous car hires abroad with other companies the money was 'frozen' and never actually taken from my credit card. This time the money was taken out fully and refunded, except somewhere along the way the amount differed and I'm £70 short of the €1100 taken. This my third time hiring a car abroad and the first time this has happened. In summary, the whole process delayed the start of our holiday by at least two hours. The car hire itself ended up costing around £90 more than advertised. And once you're home communication from Zest customer service is zero. I wouldn't recommend at all. Update: Since my original review I've received the refund due from Zest. I'm not sure whether this was off their own back or because I complained to Barclaycard about the transaction and they were investigating. If Zest would like more feedback, there was no mention of the 28 day wait after I returned from my holiday that they've stated in their reply. If they had said this to me I'd have waited and perhaps my feedback would've been slightly better. The guy that dealt with me on the day of the incident was really helpful. But the people who dealt with it afterwards did not keep in touch or ask me to wait 28 days, it was only me ringing them up that provided me with any updates.

Sep 23,2024The booking procedure was extremely easy and all the details were transparent. The documentation arrived as soon as I had paid the balance. The car rental company in Portugal was the one I had used last year and their service was excellent. On the Zest website, they are called rentcar4less and the local firm was called Amoita. They delivered the car to our villa and picked it up on the appointed dates, having contacted me by phone to advise me of their arrival times. I had exactly the car I asked for and it was in very good condition. I can’t rate their service too highly.

Sep 22,2024I purchased the top up insurance from Zest. When I arrived at Rentscape, Bordeaux Airport, they said this was worthless and I didn't have any insurance. Given that I'd never driven in France before I was apprehensive so decided to purchase their insurance. I understand that the Zest top up insurance is used to claim back expenses in the event of an incident. There's also the note on the Zest website about not purchasing the local insurance, but the seeds of doubt were sewn. There was no joined up relationship between Zest and Rentscape, which is the main issue for me. Zest declined to reimburse even the top up insurance after I contacted them during the hire period. Next time I'd use the Zest site to find a deal, then purchase directly from the supplier.

Sep 21,2024I would never book car hire without using Zest. They are excellent. Helpful in the booking process. They reply quickly to emails and when things went wrong (Green Motion Athens - avoid completely!) they chased the company and followed up when we got home.

Sep 24,2024We found out about Zest Car Rental via my "Which" subscription. Started to use them around 3 years ago. Their Web site is easy to navigate. Their pricing is very good based on our needs for Faro Airport, Portugal. You can pay a £29 Deposit for FUTURE bookings. Their telephone customer service is excellent. Easy to deal with. Very honest Zest Car Rental are. Highly recommended.
