Dec 02,2024done my 5 day course end of july got told id have my test within 20 days its now been coming up to 5 months and i still haven't received a test date, really wish i spent my money some other place, the instructor i had was gleaming though, but overall an absolute joke, if i didn't own a car i could carry on practicing in i would be f#cked.

Nov 30,2024Had a very good experience during this 5 day course in Chelmsford and learnt so much during it with Glenn Barnwell my instructor who was brilliant and would highly recommended this course to anyone who wants to get lots of learning done quickly and now I feel pretty much ready for my test.

Tristan Andrews has over 20 years of experience and it showed - he was both patient and informative; truly caring about both the result of my theory test as well as my ability to go confidently into my practical exam following our time together.

Nov 23,2024Course was very good and accomodating as I had to book last minute due to another company cancelling on me. They let me keep my original test in, and took me there on Friday as part of the course. I am pleased to say I passed first time thanks to Mo. He was brilliantly calm and good company, and made things I had previously found tricky seem so simple. I will be recommending Mo to friends and family!

Nov 11,2024I completed my course at 5day at the Bristol centre with Rob as my instructor and I have just passed my driving test first time. Rob has really helped me through the whole process and been very patient with elements I wasn’t finding as easy to pick up. I can’t thank him enough!

Nov 11,2024Honestly, this company is a completely waste of money. They are atrocious, unhelpful and just want your money. I got taught things like coasting (I will fail my test for this!) and moving off on just the clutch. I explained I have a petrol car and doing this would cause me to stall. This was ignored countless times. We weren't allowed inside the building after we'd finished our theory revision so we're unable to use the toilet and had to eat our lunch on a wall outside. I learnt nothing from the course, lost all my confidence driving my own petrol car and have wasted £1300. I was at the sutton building.

Nov 11,2024I am writing this on behalf of a friend for reasons of anxiety. She has just finished the course at the Sutton Coldfield 5day Centre. On the first day, she was not allowed to re-enter the building to use the toilet facilities when dropped off at the centre for lunch. This also meant that there was nowhere to sit and eat. Because she couldn't use a toilet, she drastically reduced her fluid intake that resulted in a bad headache by the time she got home at around 4:30pm. By the second day, she purposely barely drank anything until she got home so as not to need to use the toilet. This lead to a headache so severe that it made her vomit throughout the night as she had become dehydrated. By the third day, she was too unwell to attend the course due to being ill all night. The Town Centre where she could've got food and used the facilities is a 15-minute walk away so would leave no time on a 30-minute lunch break. The theory tutor also turned up late on the Tuesday and then made her and the rest of the students wait outside in the rain until he was ready. This isn't even the biggest issue she had! From the first practical lesson with the instructor Yousuf, he was teaching her to pull off on the clutch with no gas until she was completely off the clutch pedal. His car was a modern diesel that automatically raises the revs just at the bite point. She informed him that she's been doing private practice in her own car which is a petrol. Pulling off just on the clutch in her car is extremely slow, if not stalling, and would be very dangerous at junctions. He was preventing her from putting any gas on to pull off even though this is what she had learned in previous lessons and private practice. He was also telling her to dip the clutch on the approach to a junction and then brake nearer the junction. Is this not coasting? By the second morning, she asked if she could have a different instructor and explained her concerns. She was told there weren't any other instructors and she'd just have to adapt to his way. Any good instructor will adapt to their pupil. He is teaching students wrong techniques which would cause them to fail their driving test. We wonder if he was doing this purposely, to get back at the company, as he spent a solid half an hour bitching about how awful 5day are. He was also furious to find out the cost of the course compared to what he gets paid. He may have also done this in an effort to get more lessons privately after the course. Due to the way she has been taught, upon driving her own vehicle, she kept stalling and has now lost all confidence. She was supposed to be using her own car for the test but the instructor has taught her to drive HIS car only, and not "how to drive a car". Upon trying to complain to 5day over the phone, they said they don't accept complaints over the phone and they must be in an email. Emails are much easier to ignore. My friend decided to just carry on as their refund policy is that you can only get a refund if not satisfied as long as you haven't attended any of the course. How are you supposed to know that you are unsatisfied BEFORE you attend the course. So it's essentially a no refunds policy. She carried on with the 'lessons' to learn manoeuvres etc and take her theory test, and then has had to completely relearn how to drive her own car before taking her practical test. She ended up not even getting taught any manoeuvres as the instructor said there wasn't enough time. She had got up to 4th gear, had good clutch control and gear change, could navigate junctions and other traffic, progressively brake and she is good with mirrors and indicating, so why did he not move her on to manoeuvres? She was ill on the Wednesday so missed her practical hours, She would have only got 1 hour on the Thursday due to the instructor already having been booked for another students practical test at midday, so didn't attend, and only 2 hours on the Friday due to him refusing to do more than 2 hours so as not to "overload" her before her theory test. She ended up spending 3 hours sitting in McDonalds waiting for her test. She in total had 10 hours practical experience over the course of the week. If she had been able to attend all of the days, she would have only got 13 hours. The instructor said he would give her his number to cover the hours she was denied and told her not to tell 5day. All in all, we believe that the whole system is deeply flawed. After reading Trustpilot reviews, we see other people have had problems with difficult instructors. We will have to wait and see how long it takes to get a practical test slot booked, but I'm not confident after reading other reviews. This situation is completely unacceptable and is not worth anywhere near the £1,300 that was paid. We have submitted a complaint and are waiting for a response.

Nov 08,2024My 5day was with Leon Chapman, I thought he was a great instructor having not driven a car for 4 years I was very nervous on Monday but feel so much more confident by the end thanks to him, although not quite test ready I intend to contact Leon for a further few lessons. He was very patient and chatted alot which made me feel more comfortable and less anxious. Thank you 😊

Chris explained the theory extremely well so everything was clear and Tristan was really good in how he taught me in my practical lessons his way of teaching I really enjoyed. Both Chris and Tristan are extremely friendly as well as professional. Highly recommend.

Nov 07,2024I attended 5Day for my course about a month ago in Leeds with my instructor Shaheen. I'm proud to say that yesterday I passed my manual test first time! I genuinely couldn't have done it without her, she has made me a confident driver. She's taught me so much about driving and her knowledge is so in depth. Really did put me at ease throughout. If anyone is reading this review is debating it, I'm telling you do it, you won't regret it. As well if you get Shaheen she teaches both automatic and manual so I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Thank you!

He was very helpful, he answered all the countless questions I had aha, he was very thorough and made sure I was fully prepared. Thankyou so much to him I was able to pass my test first time with no minors, money worth spent! Thankyou so much I hope other people are lucky enough to get him as an instructor and more instructors are like him 👍🏽💯

Nov 01,2024Was with John, he was a nice enough guy, but doesn’t give you a break got angry and loud very quick, didn’t get me to where i needed to be for the £1600 i spent and i regret doing a driving course ever since, he then messed me about with timings and days, and charged me way to much. had other instructors from elsewhere and were much nicer and more considerate, e.g they picked me up from my house instead of making me meet 15 minutes away from me in the rain…

Oct 11,2024First time driver. I was looking for an intensive course in the Ipswich area and came across 5day. I wanted some more information, e.g. Is there a minimum skill level etc. Customer service was really helpful and friendly and gave me a good insight into the course and how to manage my own expectations. I immediately booked a course. I had Chris as a teacher, he was great and made the experience less intimidating. I passed the theory first time and am now awaiting for my practical test. I have to say I feel a lot more confident behind the wheel. I will take a couple more lessons with Chris for peace of mind, but bearing in mind I had never been behind the wheel of a car, I am amazed with my own progress. Thank you very much.

Oct 04,20245Day Intensive Course Horsforth Leeds: Fantastic instruction & teaching. Highly recommend. Mornings spent doing theory which my daughter passed first attempt at the end of the week with no previous studying. Afternoons spent driving with instructor Shabana Majid who was a great teacher, very clear and patient. My daughter felt confident, reassured and received constant feedback. She passed first attempt and is now a confident driver at the age of 16 due to medical reasons. Can’t thank Shabana enough. 🙏

Dec 03,2024I have just passed with the five day Peterborough branch my instructor james was very friendly and helped me go from relatively new to driving to confident and when a test was booked I was offered a two hour refresher session and I passed first try, all staff I met in person or over the phone were friendly and helped me through time as a learner
