Oct 25,2024I've been practicing law for almost four decades, and working in the legal field for almost five. I have never had so much difficulty with a process server provider, and institutionally ABC Legal is utterly incompetent. Case involved service of federal summonses on a company and its officer, where the company and officer were dodging service and had abandoned all of their official addresses. Process server made the requisite attempts at multiple addresses. But when we asked for a declaration to prove all that up so that we could get a court order for substituted service, the server initially refused to give us anything other than vanilla "not able to serve" forms (totally inadequate for the purpose). We thus had to draft a declaration for her. But after we sent it to the process server, ABC Legal then sat on it for days before informing me that they have a "company policy" requiring all such declarations to be drafted in-house. (When I inquired why, if that was true, they did not draft one upon our request, or otherwise promptly advise us of this "policy," ABC Legal could only say that the people in question "have been given coaching.") Never again. ABC Legal is a joke.
