Competitive quote. Firm well organised to contact clients in time for renewals. Flexible and will alter products to make quote even more competitive. One criticism would be that I had different people following up about the same thing on multiple occasions.

They were a little late in reminding me of the renewal date and my holiday plans meant they had to respond very quickly to get the insurance completed. They did this and I had time to spare.

My husband has used Alan Boswell (AB) since 2016 to insure our buy to to let (BTL) property. BTL was vacated ready to be sold Aug 2022. Sale process become protracted due to buyer going through probate. Hence in November 2022 had to replace existing policy with a new one to cover unoccupied property. In December 2022 we had a water leak and discovered we were underinsured. AB are claiming that the property rebuild value has had the correct rebuild index linking applied to it, so why is the underinsured value now, by over £100k? Why were we not asked about rebuild cost at each yearly renewal? Surely the cost of building material going up should have triggered a conversation to make sure rebuild costs were still appropriate. Why didn’t they automatically update rebuild cost, surely they are in a better position to do so, then us? Another case of insurance company taking our money and getting out of paying for the service they should be providing.
