If i could give 0 i would, we can't complain to FOS - and no one will look at my complaint and amigos! everyone keeps talking about getting 'some' money back, but it's likely that any upheld complaints - if any- will get about 5%! for me that's £200 out of the £4000 im owed!! i would rather let this company go into administration then allow them to put other customers at a disadvantage. Would also like to point out that this company has no integrity, amigos looking at my complaint right now would save me having to even want a redress payment as my balance should be cleared.
A business with a willingness to help current and previous customers, yet some want them to go into administration! A rejection will mean administration and no payments to customers but loans will still need to be repaid. A yes will mean payments to customers plus a share of future profits. I have voted yes
Absolute joke of a company I’ve had an ongoing redress complaint in for over a year and still no decision then this blatant attempt to rip off genuine customers who have been mis sold loans to pay them next to nothing To make matters worse I’ve still got a current loan which they still make me pay every month crazy This company has pushed me previously to nearly suicide and to get out of it punishment free I’d rather get nothing back money wise and be happy in the knowledge that they aren’t trading anymore. How can a company do this for years then cut a deal it’s total daylight robbery basically bullying you into accepting the scheme or get nothing back
Had no issues with amigo loans, was always kept up to date. Sent texts to let me know they had received the payment as well letters and the app really was helpful keeping me up to datas well
I don’t understand the constant complaining from people. You took out the loan - You knew what the monthly repayments were. This company gives people an opportunity. I had a very good experience and will be voting YES. Warm regards, Chris
If you vote yes they remain a company and thus a threat. The likelihood is that you will get a 4% redress, is that really worth putting people at risk in the future? You’ll most likely pay the same either way, but Amigo who have acted unethically will finally face their justice. I can’t believe people defending them, have you no shame? Or are you just uneducated on what will actually happen? If you’re in any doubt, just seek legal advice as I did, you will get clear answers and can act accordingly, this company are trying to buy their way out of the situation, we need to show that morals and ethics are worth more than money!!! They are criminals and we are the jury right now.
People voting no are basing there decision on it still being the old Amigo. Make a rational and informed choice is my opinion. Act in haste, repent at leisure. It is what it is, no matter how you feel personally. I want our country to thrive and people to spend in the economy. Amigo is part of this. Do we really want more companies to go under? I back Amigo and the SOA.
I must admit the Amigo of the past have made some mistakes of which they have openly admitted. They have done the responsible thing and are trying to fix the problem. It's a tough decision to make and I hope they succeed by giving back what they can to those affected most.
Just an update on this. They replied on here saying give agreement number, we always try to find a fair outcome. So I emailed them and they said I'm going into the scheme. Publicly they like to come across helpful... So after asking for business files for months and them ignoring and then they finally send them to the FOS 2 months after their cut off point....and the FOS finding all 3 loans to be upheld in my favour..... they can can still put me into the scheme. I remember these people hounding me at points, imagine me just saying, ah I'll go bankrupt, sorry you missed the cut off point. As I said in the previous message, my guarantor did get a redress for loan 4 so I will probably vote No in the scheme, let them go insolvent, they've made enough money out of people. I am owed about 10k and would probably get £200 and I'm still telling people to vote no. I think it's the right thing to do..... I complained in May 2020 and my guarantor got a big redress in December 2020. A balance was opened up for me but to be fair to Amigo, as a goodwill gesture they wrote it off. I had 4 loans in total, the first 3 were dismissed by Amigo but they paid redress in December for loan 4. I was given the decision late October and chased for 2 months for payment. I asked my FOS investigator to investigate loans 1,2 & 3 and he and I both repeatedly asked for my business files in Oct/Nov The files were finally provided in Feb 2021 and all 3 loans were upheld by the FOS which would be a lot of money plus interest owed to me. Amigo have conveniently placed me into their scheme though. The FOS have said this shouldn’t be the case as there is clear evidence that the files were requested long before their December 21st deadline. Does anyone know if I have a case for legal action? Also, if I was to vote no but the yes vote wins. Can I still claim? Regards
I have been paying my loan for 2 years every month and got changed to universal credit what I have went through for not getting payed for 6 weeks is an absolute disgrace stay away from this so called we will help you.....not a complete joke.
VOTE NO to the Amigo Scheme! I am a past customer of Amigo Loans, back when they were called FLM Loans and were able to get away with fraud unnoticed. I am owed thousands in compensation which I've been chasing for many years and my advice to you is to VOTE NO. This company should have gone with the wind that took Wonga. They ONLY want you to vote yes to the scheme so they can take YOUR money and RUN. If the scheme is approved, the MILLIONS set aside to refund you will be gone and Amigo will eventually close down thereafter. The reputation of Amigo has been damaged beyond repair and they know this. You will only be giving the shareholders money to continue scamming desperate people in the future. Be Smart VOTE NO!
UPDATE ON PREVIOUS REVIEW: I’m VOTING YES. I see a lot of people here are voting no without giving a reason, just to send the company under. It makes no sense. They are being selfish as customers like me would like to get some compensation, even if it is only a couple £100. If the company goes under, past customers get nothing! Whereas current customers get their balance wiped in the scheme or in insolvency. So really the only fair thing to do for all past customers is to vote yes to get some compensation. Amigo helped me by giving me a loan when no one else would. I had no hidden fees and my payments never changed over the 3 years. I was then able to buy myself a new car that was able to help me get to my school and Uni during my teacher training year. If the judge is happy then I am happy too. The judge is satisfied we will get 10% back of a claim (plus future share of profits) so on my £6k loan, I should get about £800 back. So please vote yes for all us past customers!!
Amigo loans will hopefully be shut down in the near future. They are ‘Wolves in Sheep’s clothing’ I have now replayed my loan with them. I complained February this year and I got absolutely nowhere with them. They have delayed me constantly and then entered me into their scheme that I told them I wanted no part of! They owe me £3800.00 plus interest. I’ve now placed my concerns to the financial ombudsman. I voted no to their Scheme. I would advise everyone else to do the same. They have never treated their customers fairly, hence they are now receiving a tsunami of complaints. Because of their failings as a responsible lender! AVOID these Gangster Loan Sharks! 👎🏻
Though it was an expensive business, i may get some compensation (thank you in advance). Please vote yes! Better something than nothing. :/
I voted for money and share of profits rather than no money. No one will get compensation if Amigo goes bust, administrators and debt collectors collecting the loan and interest owed may not be as pleasant as Amigo
I submitted a complaint back in August 2020 and kept getting fobbed off with excuses as to why they weren’t responding. Still no final response but I’m guessing they knew about this scheme then hence why no response
Every one saying Vote no must have more money then me, as I see it by voting no I’m saying good bye to any refunds

I'm not cutting off my nose to spite my face! If they go bust I'll get nothing! I am voting Yes, I would rather get a bit of money than nothing at all. I'm skint and need it!

Apr 27,2021Vote NO. Very dodgy 5 stars reviews here. We all have been in difficult situations, but taking this missold loan made the things impossible to handle with the astronomic interests. I had a really bad month and I called Amigo to try to deffer a payment withouth affecting my guarantor. I had a firm no from Amigo and had to borrow money, from a payday lender, to be able to pay amigo. Everything went down hill from there. The scheme is a joke, thousands of families struggling to make few people rich. People voting yes are really thick. I can give you the tenner you get from Amigo and stay out completly from the scheme as you haven't read all the facts. Let them go bust! Vote NO
