14 days 4days, IL keep it short and sweet today, still no update, there's no point given a generic response you may as well not respond here, I keep phoning and emailing and no update I really do doubt somedays that my complaint is even being reviewed. My account balance is cleared and yet they say contact them for assistance because of the toll on my mental health. Pray tell what can you do for me except resolve the complaint.

Amigo loan did an affordability assessment for me and guarantor. They said we both couldn’t afford. My guarantor is a 74 year old and only had £40 left a month after the assessment he even sent his bank statements. He offered to pay that £40 and they rejected the reduced payment. I also requested reduced payments for some time or to put my account on hold as I have 2 loans a car and phone finishing within 6 months. That will put me in a better position of then making full payments after. But then again amigo have their way of making money. I then signed up to step change who also suggested speaking to amigo to reduce payments for now. They even suggested paying £1.74 for the next 75 months. I know my situation will change. I have been calling amigo almost everyday for over a month. But they seem to make you think there is a solution when there isn’t. I told them in advance I couldn’t make the next month payment and they told me to wait until I have missed it then they can sort something out. Phone advisors even speak to you in a degrading way. There is too many occasions I cried on the phone and asked them to speak to me nicely as I am human too and trying to find a solution. After waiting for the missed payment they started calling my guarantor threatening and harassing him, confusing him, he already forgets things and we are suspecting early stage dementia. There is a time I was pregnant, stopped working, moving and requested for them to give me a couple of months until I was in receipt of maternity pay. They threatened me, refused any sort of solution with me and started calling and threatening my guarantor who ended up paying. Other creditors when you explain your situation they are willing to find a solution which could be reduced payments, putting account on hold or stopping interest. There is lack of compassion and understanding from this company. I also did make an affordability complaint as they gave me a loan which I topped up 3 times and with 6 defaults. I was young, working and reckless with money. But now I am mature and making good decisions tackling my debt bit by bit. As I speak now I no longer talk to my father who has now started cursing and shouting at everyone and everything, he says amigo threatened to take his house. My mother who has been diagnosed with stress and anxiety has been triggered again because of the toxic environment she is in. I no longer get support from them even with child care relief. They used to help me out now and again with even £20 but now have no one. I feel alone in this like I’m suffocating. I just need a breather for now. I am not running away from my bills, it’s just that they are too many at this point and need to be able to afford for basics for me and baby. This month I missed a payment of £130 but yesterday I paid £10. Really don’t know why I got myself in such a mess. Imagine losing family over this. It’s crazy but such is life.
Until fairly recently I had been making my payments without issue but thenI was unlucky to suffer a stroke and my fomer landlady evicted me becaise she found her self a pleb to buy her things despite all of the money she was making renting rooms (despite not having an HMO or declaring tax on the income). Amigo contacted my gurantor who pamicked and contacted me. I told him it would be okay as I had returned to work and I would catch up on the payments. Amigo contacted me and I replied ststing my intentions to pay. I even called and requested that I be allowed to pay the arears and next months payment to put the account back on track but thr operator simply took one payment and inferred I had made 2. So when I revived another message stating I was in arrears I went ballistic and was very abusive (I suffer from high blood pressure). so whilst I would have recommended AMigo to preople, having experienced the way they harrass people when they miss a payment and are unablr to contact them as they had no phone as it was cut off due to having no credit and their website does not work, I can honestly say that whilst I understand it is a business there is no need to act like gangsters. I hav less than £1000 left on the loaan and plan to pay it all of next month. DON'T SIGN UP WITH THESE PEOPLE AND IF YOU DO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A CONTINGENCY PLAN FOR IF LIFE TAKES S NASTY TURN.
Bad customer service. I was late on a payment because of a death. When they called me to discuss the payment I explained I had just come out of the crematorium and could they call me the next day. The woman I talked to said no worries. I was sobbing when I spoke to her so she could tell I was upset. However they didn't call me back instead they took the money from my guarantor who wasn't happy about it and it caused arguments. Very bad customer service I wish I hadn't had anything to do with them.
This company has had the best pet of £20,000 out of me over a few loans poor service on the last occasion, because they are not needed anymore they get very funny needless to say I am seeking this refund policy they have but again the hide and become Teflon which as well all k ow nothing sticks too avoid at all costs!!
Amigo Loans. A company refusing to pay money back! My complaint stretches back to last year. The Financial Ombudsman became involved and informed me Amigo agreed to pay me, this was November. To date, nothing received. I received an email from Lauren Corani who works for Amigo. Amazingly, they want my guarantors details. WHY??? They have been ordered to pay me and now they’re stalling again. I have been informed to use bailiffs, which I am now investigating. DO NOT use Amigo. They are untrustworthy and liars.
I put a complaint in January 2020 13 months ago now I eventually took my complaint to the fos who advised amigo they mis sold and should refund redress and stat interest this was 6 weeks ago and amigo just keep fobbing me off no update when I call and have just ignored the fos when being chased. My complaint was put in before any scheme and I expect my refund ASAP absolutely awful serious and company who prey on vulnerable people when they are desperate
Absolutely appalling. Hannah who is the apparent account manager has been an absolute nightmare. We have been trying to change the date of our payment due to lockdown and according to her this is not possible. Tried to call, sat in the queue for an hour only to be cut off, they have now taken the payment twice! This service has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. No wonder they are under investigation. Tried to call to get one of the payments returned but states they are no longer taking calls. Total abomination!
After constant battling with this company and FOS getting involved, I finally had an email for my redress (I accepted 27th Nov 2020) asking me to contact them to confirm bank details. I phoned on the same day (3/2/21) and I am still yet to receive payment!! It does not take this long to issue a redress I'm sorry. Fed up of being ignored and fobbed off. Have been back in touch with my FOS caseworker. If I do miraculously have payment in the next few days I will remove this review,.but I am not holding my breath.
Oh my god haven’t been on here in months and Amigo are even posting reviews in trying to get us vote yes for the scheme they are really desperate to stay afloat . I was a former customer of Amigo and they gave me years of hell when I had major financial difficulties and what everybody else describes of their bullying tactics it’s 100% true and they hounded my poor Grandad who was the gurantor it took its toll on both of us and I always wished and prayed they would go bust and oh look it’s on the brink of happening and we can close down this vile company once and for all and rid their existence and the gurantor market has changed for the worst for companies like Amigo because they can’t steal more money from vulnerable people and people who can not afford eye watering interest rates and crippling payments. I fought and fought against Amigo with the help of financial ombudsman and I won my affordability case my loan got written off with all the interest myself and Grandad had ploughed into the loan after 5 years . They are on life support at the moment and are not making any money cause they have ceased lending and want this scheme to stay alive . Everyone has a choice to vote but I’m voting NO they don’t deserve to be operating and even when they go into insolvency they will still have to pay out on remaining active complaints because the creditors will put aside money to pay out the remaining complaints. Amigo has had its day inflicting pain and misery on all of us and milked the cash cow dry it’s time for them to dissolve into the financial abyss like wonga and all the others gone before them . Even the founder James Benamor came back on to board to save his company but walked away when he saw it couldn’t be saved and he said they were committing slow financial suicide and he was right because they are and will be laid to rest soon . Even when they go bust all the directors and shareholders will drain every penny out the assets and their employees will get their final salary payments and be jobless but working for a company like that it was always going to happen . Don’t vote for the scheme we have the power to end Amigo once and for all and all the positive reviews are from amigos employees and one was from a senior position because how they worded their review and the in depth knowledge of the scheme . It’s time for us to pull together and run this company out of the financial market . The best thing that can come out of this pandemic is Amigo will cease to exist . I hate the company they have no morals or values and the drained the life blood out of us to get every penny and used the company as a gravy train only something will last while the going is good . If I can stop just one person from obtaining a loan from this company I will be happy. Please don't borrow money from them, or worse, be a guarantor. If you are going to act as a guarantor get a personal loan for your friend instead at a reasonable interest rate. Amigo are loan sharks pure and simple. They prey on people who should not be lent money and don't carry out due diligence on the person obtaining the loan. Also try dealing or talking to them if there is a problem, ie a pandemic, they dont listen. They have mis-sold so many loans. I really hope they go bust. 43279499 I’ve been battling amigo for years now. Before the ‘mis-selling’ was being publicised and they were found out to not be following the right guidelines when checking affordability. I was the guarantor and in the end I had to settle the loan for reasons I’m completely ashamed of as I’d been scammed by the borrower. I lost around 14k and didn’t get the benefit of the loan In the first place. All just lost. Ultimately I had to sell my house as it was a loss I could never get back on my feet and was falling into more and more debt. Amigos treatment of me was appalling. I begged for help while I was trying to get help from the police and citizens advice etc... I asked for some breathing space so I could come to terms with what was going on but all I was met with was the daily onslaught of emails and texts and calls telling me I would have to pay. I did everything right; I complained several times and I took the matter to the fos and they found that not only should I have not been accepted as guarantor but if they’d done the right checks the borrower should never have been accepted in the first place. To know they had the power to have stopped this from ever happening and the treatment I received combined is not easy to get over. I like many; had my response from amigo put off over and over so they could bring in this scheme. When all is said and done I hope somebody stands accountable to all the people who were taken to hell and back over this. Especially guarantors who have lost thousands of pounds due to amigos bad affordability checks! Giving people the generic ‘we ensure all parties know what they are responsible for’ is not acceptable when you should never have allowed these applications to go through in the first place! It’s also in bad taste when people are desperate for help and perhaps suffering with personal problems. Your automated replies and constant chasing is enough to tip someone over the edge. Please if you are trying to be ‘better’ then re-think your tactics and support customers more if they have a genuine need for your help! Be kinder and be better! You don’t know what someone is going through and how much it can send someone in a downward spiral! Get the checks right and stop this from happening to people! And also do the right thing here and now! Look at cases; especially where the guarantor has had to take on the loan; and make sure that they are reimbursed if you were wrong in the first place. Surely thats morally the right thing to do!
Absolutely crazy that I finally have a response just to be told I will automatically be put forward for the scheme!! Which proves you delayed my claim to purposely carry it over!! Also this scheme is a joke because you state in your communication to me and I quote ‘If the Scheme is not approved, then Amigo will pay out redress where due.’ So it shows that it is only for your benefit and not to your existing customers! So why would we vote yes to a scheme when it is us that loses out! I feel so sorry for your staff because they really have been put through the works with this!! And I have already escalated my complaint to the FCA! So disappointed more than anything!
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER get a loan from these sharks or become a guarantor!! They are thieves and take more than one payment in a month and when you advise them that you cannot afford it - well according to them its just tough luck and it's what you signed up for - NOT. My latest email: Hi William, Thank you for your email. I can appreciate that it is frustrating, however this is taking up to 10 working days for us to process these redress payments. As confirmed this is 10 working days from 8/02/2021 so we are still within this window. Thanks, Neil@Amigo ————————————————————— When you apply for a loan, it is paid out within 24 hours. I had some redress paid towards the end of last year, which was paid out within an hour of my bank details being confirmed. There is literally no reason for this to take up to 10 working days. More delay tactics. I am constantly in contact with the FOS, who are managing my complaint. If this payment is made, I’ll remove the review. I won’t hold my breath though and will continue to post a negative review every day that it is not paid. I have emailed Amelia Robinson several times and the emails are ignored. There is no reason payment has not yet been sent. Not good enough.

Mar 04,2021Amigo will say they care about customers but they don’t, have had a complaint in with them since the start of December, they have simply ignored it in the hope of implementing their own scheme to deal with complaints, when speaking to them all I was offered was to raise this with the FOS, but amigo are well aware the FOS have 1000’s of complaints regarding them so will take months. Messaged on social media they say will be in touch but never are.
