I applied for a loan in 2020. It was so quick (3 day process) and easy to do. All staff I have dealt with, both at the start and end, have been very helpful and explained the process simply to me. (eg. Emma in Dublin) I cannot understand the negative reviews at all, unless people are breaking their contract by refusing to pay. My experience was great, without any issues. The money is taken out of my account automatically on the day I chose, and no more than was agreed. I paid extra here and there and I have paid off my loan a month early which will be a good start to my lending future. Thank you Amigo for being life savers during a very tough time! (NOT paid btw!!)
Absolutely shocking level of delays and false promises. Guarantor was contacted regarding redress amount on Nov 30th which was accepted and due for processing. Me (the borrower) was told I would have a final settlement figure on 14th December. 3 weeks and 8 emails later, following on from a chaser on twitter; I had an email yesterday following up on the offer and stating that nothing had been processed back to the guarantor after all. Having already had the offer accepted, they then made up some rubbish about me also having to accept despite the guarantor having paid the loan. They then said payment could now be made (well over £6k) yet payments are done in batches and it will take 15 working days to clear (25th January). What a load of rubbish! When you take a loan out from AMigo they manage to transfer it immediately; however this has now taken 6 weeks since agreement and now they expect it to take a further 15 working days. I don't know how stupid you think we as consumers are Amigo; but no bank transfer process in the World takes 15 working days. Faster payments is immediate, BACS takes 3 working days, yet you have come up with some make believe system for payments. Please arrange this payment to be made today without any further delay; it has taken 6 weeks already so it is the least you can do. Otherwise you are in breach of FCA regulation and will be reported
I would give zero stars if possible, I made a complaint 15 weeks ago via Impakt claims and have received no correspondence at all. I think they’re using covid as as excuse for prolonging decisions. I am now going to escalate my complaint to the financial ombudsman
Raised my complaint in august time and still no response for my complaint. Every time I ring it seems nobody knows what’s going on with the time frame for complaints. They can’t give you any information or any sort of update. It’s being dragged out more and more every time I ring and nobody can advise you anything so frustrating RES9148044
I have been a member with Amigo for a number of years, however recently I have been in alot of financial difficulty, due to multiple creditors and a gambling problem. My current balance is around 4800 and this mainly consists of extortionate interest. I appreciate I took out the loans on the understanding of repayment 207.00 a month. However I have since tried to reach out to amigo, however they simply threaten going to my guarantor and do not offer any resolution. I am happy to continue payments on 25/01/2021 at 207.00, although I did ask for a decreased repayment arrangement, aslong as this did not increased the interest. I am happy to pay over a longer term to have the monthly repayment decreased. I have dealt with agents via email, Lauren and Kai to name a few. No one at Amigo has actually tried to help me. They are a horrible business who continually email and text threatening messages. I have raised a complaint on several occasions, without response. The messages do not stop. I am at my whits in with Amigo and see no way out.

Raised a complaint through resolver back in october 2020 Two days before the 8 week allowance for responce outcome to recieve a direct contact email not through resolver claiming delays and apologies and still no contact or outcome redress due dispite causing my life a misery for months and ruining my relationship with my elderly grandmother its a pity they are not delaying their aggression in collections when you are late with a payment or struggling to pay it and ask for help !!! If i don't hear within the next week I will be escalating as its been since october ive been waiting for whats quite simple apology and to pay back money that my grandmother on her death bed paid because of the harrasment daily !!
I can relate to my own experience
I have had several top ups with Amigo which are being investigated with an affordability complaint. I was advised I would be sent all my communication/paperwork within 4 weeks which is coming up and they have 8 weeks to respond to complaint. Anyone waiting outside the 8 weeks escalate to the Ombudsman ASAP
Awful, awful company. Raised a complaint in the correct way - had 0 contact during the complaint apart from the acknowledgement and then the 4 week automated we are still looking into it but you’ll have a response before 8 weeks. On the last day of the 8 week timeframe I chase because I have still not heard anything I get a generic nothing we can do we are holding all final response as a company decision - even though this has NOT been agreed by the FCA. 8 weeks has now well and truly gone with no resolution or even discussion. A failure on all accounts by Amigo. Ombudsman now only route.
Was promised my final letter would be sent within days as it was with the case handler and now they decided to stop them all , what a joke

Everyone here is complaining about not being entitled to what they are owed. Let’s flip this if the company goes into administration you get NOTHING absolutely zilch. Also yes your debt is still repayable it doesn’t get wiped. Please think long and hard before writing a bad review. You took the loan you knew there was interest and claims management companies are putting in fraudulent claims and some of those have been paid out. There’s 2 sides to every story open your eyes. GLTA if this company goes bust also think about other people have jobs there 400 people will be out of work. So many self centered people here.
Well like others my partner has been waiting since September to get redress and after filling out questionnaires three weeks ago still nothing. They make no allowances for any vulnerable person or situation and as my partner suffers from multiple conditions they have always known about these. Phone for an update to try to reduce her stress and pain only to be told that it will now be months for a decision with a vote scheduled in March and then months after that before any conclusion if any. The scheme of arrangement is no different to a company simply changing names and refusing to honour debts it owes. Livid is an understatement and a great Christmas surprise for the thousands of complaints that have been delayed (coincidence?). Please contact me directly please to sort this, Resolver ID RES9114525 Well there’s a shock 10p in the pound possibly more possibly less and even then no payment until next year. Where are these calculations that show nothing will be received in liquidation. The claims will be looked into using the present criteria used, not a lot of good considering the 87% of upheld complaints at FOS. Who is the independent assessor who will look into disputes. There is no way this will go any other way than liquidation, it’s time the FSCS & FCA backed these schemes as it’s a farce. In the case of the money shop 4.1p in the pound so for a £500 redress claim £20, while the accountants and lawyers get 8 million.

Am not coping very well... Lies in your reply to my review that your doing all you can!! ALL CASES ON HOLD TILL YOU'VE BEEN TO COURT ....people's welfare and their children's is clearly not a priority to you particularly when I wouldn't have been in this situation if you had not contacted my ex!!!!! Disgraceful company, of all the payday loan and guarantor loan company’s Amigo is the worst in terms of caring about their customers welfare! Amigo refused to communicate with the financial ombudsman throughout my affordability claim. They continue to ignore the financial ombudsman’s decision that my loan was unaffordable and issued without carrying out appropriate checks. To top it off they are still demanding payment from myself and my guarantor and negatively affecting my credit rating
Since the new management have come into this business things are loads better at Amigo. I have been able speak to people although sometimes I have to wait a while but covid hasn’t helped it’s the same situation with the main stream banks aswell. I would like to thank you guys at Amigo for sorting my claim within 20 weeks.
Update to my previous review and Amigo Loans response. Yes I did receive an email but it was pretty pointless. “I can confirm we have received contact from the Financial Ombudsman regarding the acceptance of the offer. The final figures are currently awaiting calculation, as soon as these have been confirmed we will be in touch to provide them to you. Unfortunately, I am unable to advise of a timescale for this. If there is anything else we can help with in the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact us.” So as I said before, it has now been 17 weeks (with the limit being 8 weeks) with still no proper offer and they cannot offer a timescale either. So as I said before, Amigo you are not treating customers fairly. Please provide your offer.
Absolutely disgusting! Put a claim in 8 weeks ago they have all the information they need and now all of a sudden a few days before a decision is due to be made they are putting it on hold as they want to now create a complaint scheme with the FCA with a limited pot of money to work from meaning some of us may receive less than we thought. All this to stop the company going bust. Greed!

Why are you making out you are on the phone lines when clearly your not ? I call and I press option 2 then 2 again then 1 then 1 again ! Then I get cut off after the above message ! That’s calling at 11am 1pm 2pm 3pm and 4pm every day for the past week ! It’s not really appropriate, especially when there’s worried people like me who’s been given a final redress letter and a date which is by no later than tomorrow Friday for my offer ! Not to mention the fact that my guarantor as accepted a offer on the 30october which she hadn’t received yet ?? What’s going off ? Iv sent 4 emails explaining this with absolutely no reply , yet you can reply to a tustpilot review . Come on ... stop time wasting and do your customers the decent thing off being truthful and let them know !
