I put forward a complaint on 13th October and haven’t had a response to say you have received it or not, I then followed this up with an email yet still no response. Surely I should have received at least an acknowledgment response. My resolver reference number is RES9174382.
I’m a guarantor for an ex friend and have been waiting a couple of months for a redress, no communication between complaints department and redress department.
No really a review just seeing if anyone else had the issue I'm dealing with, amigo accepted my guarantor when their only income was benifits, as I was really stuck at the time my guarantor accepted to help me, now their benifits have dropped and I'm struggling to pay so don't want my guarantor to have to pay as it would leave them in serious financial difficulties, I'm to scared to call as I'm not sure what the out come would be debt collection etc.
Still waiting for someone to send an email back that makes sense instead of generic dribble. Account no 40543055. My guarantor has not paid a penny off my loan. I’m still waiting for a response. It says we will keep you updated... you don’t! Just stalling tactics. COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t seem to stop your threats of legal action does it. I currently have COVID-19 and mental health issues that you are adding to. This company should be struck off!!!
Agreement number 35605804, you won’t help already tried
Lies lies lies. Day 48 over the timeframe given for complaint to be dealt with. Every single calls I’ve made (since Amigo are unable to correspond with customers) I’ve been told something different. Every. Single. Call. There was a pause on the complaint due to a guarantor payment made back in 2010. Fact. Six loans, spanning ten years and ONE guarantor payment was made for £212. Fact The pause on complaints was due to the FCA. Lie. The pause was an in-house decision to re evaluate the process of payouts. Fact. The complaint was now being looked into as an advisor of Amigo accused me of fraudulently recording inaccurate details on my application. Lie. I received no application to fill out only a call to the company to request a top up. Fact. After said investigation it is now stated that there is no record of my applying for the loan, no link sent. No emails, no phone calls. Fact. Complaint is still on hold. Fact. Daily phone calls made to chase up progress. Fact. GDPR request made and will be sent out within the week. Lie (I’m still waiting) Standard emails returned (eventually) with no information other than they are looking into it. Fact. Paused now been lifted as of 16/11/2020. Questionable. Advised by an Amigo advisor on Tuesday 17/11/2020 that the claim had been awarded in my favour. A conversation which would have been recorded re their in-house policy of recording all calls for training and monitoring purposes. Fact. Claim has not been awarded in my favour and no information can be given at this time on 18/11/2020. Fact. Emails are being sent out to all customers and guarantors over the course of the week and I should just keep checking my emails (junk mail included). Lie. Contact made again by myself on Friday 20/11/2020 and advised that there is a backlog of thousands of complaints and they are dealing with a select amount of customers weekly therefore no timeframe will be given on receiving emails? Advised that they will contact my case handler (Shannon) and will send out an email to clarify the process and potential progress. Lie. No information can now be given on timeframes as they are working with a new system. Same story given re the initial pause at the beginning of the complaint. Manager call back request but advised that they won’t do anything about it. Fact. My question being......... who is actually dealing with it? If the complaints advisors can’t do anything, why are they working in a complaints department? If the case handlers can’t be contacted, what’s the point of a complaints procedure? If the managers can’t do anything more than the complaints advisors, what is their role? If you’ve taken on additional people to work within the complaints department, why the delay? If there is a new process in place, why not send out a standard block email to everyone waiting and advise them of this? And most importantly, if I’m due in excess of over £15000 and I have one guarantor payment being questioned for £212, why the worry that giving this back to my guarantor will leave me in a worse financial position? Because given the facts that I’ve been furloughed since March, with no hope of returning back to the hospitality role that I had, and everyone waiting is likely in the same position, then surely your tactics of delay are the sole cause of leaving us in a worse financial position? The sad truth is we’re all waiting on a payout that is never likely to be received. Because by the time you’ve robbed us of what we’re owed, the company will be in liquidation and we’ll need to fight for whatever pittance is left over. YOU are the reasons that people are financially worse off. YOU are the reason for peoples mental health being affected. And YOU (if I’m luckily) will respond with the usual answer of “please give us your reference and we’ll look into it) So to save wasting your time....... I’ve contacted the complaints department AGAIN, and they can’t help. I’ve used the auto messenger service on Facebook only to be passed to a “human” and have been advised to contact the complaints department. I’m waiting on a manager calling me back to advise me that he/she can’t do anything. So, if you don’t mind, can you advise, IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND ACTUALLY HELP???????? 40423312
Claim submitted in March 2020. Wrote to me in July stating I was due a redress and I would have my offer on the 17 July currently still awaiting the offer 4 months later even after my gurantor has received his offer and accepted
I have made a complaint, but I wanted to ask a generic question. Do you pay the borrower or the guarantor? Is there still an issue if the guarantor made some payments? Have you caught up with the backlog yet? Or are complaints still taking longer than 8 weeks? Thanks in advance Donna
Complaint logged in July, they rarely respond to emails and when they have done it has been less than helpful claiming my complaint is “complex” which I disagree as it is very much straight forward. My complaint is now in the hands of the Financial Services Ombudsman as I’m sick of being ignored.
Not happy one bit I have tried to call 15 times in the space of two weeks and on hold for over 30 minutes, sent numerous emails and no response. I have been on furlough since March and not likely to be back. I have forwarded on my employers email sent to me and still no response. I have tried to move on my payment but it won't lett me and money is due on the 20th of this month. My partner is self employed and has not been in work either due to being high risk as he is type 1 diabetic and takes insulin. He was due to go back but the company he works for said he needs to stay off till at least the end of the year. Now he gets no money absolutely nothing as a director of his own company. Rang to see if he can claim anything but apparently my wage is enough to keep us going. I have to pay out nearly over £1400 a month that is with bills, and credit cards we have had to use for emergencies. This has been a stressful time and feel Amigo have let me down. I have always tried to keep them in the loop, but the fact no one has responded to either of the 5 emails sent in the past few weeks is disgusting.
Excellent update from Louise. She is very kind to entertain my query even though I still have 4 days to wait for their final decision. She said that due to new regulation there will be a bit of delay.Hopefully it will be good news and I am patiently waiting only for 2 weeks bec of some information needed from my guarantor. Thank you once again!
Can someone from Amigo please explain to me why you have been waiting for guidance for such a long time from FCA about loans where a garentor has made a payment? Are you not a garentor loan specialist? Don't you already know the FCA rules and guidelines concerning this? I cannot believe you are allowed to trade and do not know the fundamental criteria about redress! It's as if you've never done it before. Big stall tactics! Makes me realise that the company is only interested in policy where money is only going in one direction. No wonder so many complaints.
Can’t believe got a loan with u which was hard work but once got it didn’t have a problem paid back over a year on time no missed payments I was grateful then because of COVID-19 run into emergency so I thought ah amigo borrowed 1500 the first time so I thought 500 this time would not be a problem no they tell some rubbish about I have to wait 2 months for some reason if this how they treat customers would not recommend to no one could understand if payments were missed or I still had outstanding payments but no loyalty to customers
Amigo loan in Dublin is more sick than I think and their staff have mental health issues . I had my first loan with them in February be paying after then until last Month when I miss a payment I decided to give them a call myself to asked for more days to make payment given a day which is on the 20th of this month fews days later they call my guarantor telling lies that I can afford the payment where as I gave a day for payment. Another annoying one call me this talking s*** if they can’t wait till 20th they can go for all I care. Amigo treats people badly the actions to take on amigo is to ignored there calls and let them bark like a dog with emails and unanswered calls, they behaves like monsters.
Cant thank Amigo enough for overturning their decision and sending figures through for compensation. It has been a long process but patience is key. Just waiting for payment to be sent now and fingers crossed it doesnt take too long. Maybe when you actually pay your own loan on time every month and not leave your guarantor with your debt they are more than happy to deal with complaint...who knows. Cannot get over the amount of people on here complaining when they have left their guarantor, someone who has done them a favour to repay their loan. Im sure alot of people myself included have been in situations where they have been struggling but you find a way. I was unaware that you could claim money back until i was contacted directly. Just shows you when you are a genuine person with a genuine claim things work out in your favour :)
Had to call up due to circumstances as I'm sure slot of people are, long time waiting to get through to someone but when I got through to Charlie he smashed it. Showed really empathy and understanding to my situation and did all he could to help out. Keep up the fantastic work mate
Said I was eligible for a top up for months when I went to apply for a top up the first time it said I have to make repayments of 12 months which I'm way over 12 months now the second time I tried it said that I was bankrupt??!! I emailed to ask how could they say I was bankrupt and kept getting emails back saying I was asking how to do this and that on the app which I wasn't. I asked could they explain how I'm bankrupt when I'm not. I am not at all bankrupt and if I was I would have informed them myself. All I wanted to do was top up so I could have some help during the pandemic but now I apparently can't borrow anymore money. Absolutely ridiculous.
So yes I am leaving yet another review on my experiences with Amigo. I was offered a redress payment back in August to which I accepted. I was told it could take up to 40 days to receive it I left it well over this time frame and guess what? no payment. I called in October to be told hey had changed systems ad it hadn't changed over but it would be sorted ASAP. It wasn't. I called again to be told a totally different story. I was told it would be paid that day, It wasn't. I called again to be told another story and basically asked to stop calling. Two weeks later it still hasn't been paid. I have now had an email and feedback on here to ask me to stop calling as it will delay the playout. How is this possible? I see that as a threat. I have now been told they are re-evaluating my situation. I would like to know why? Nothing has been said to me. I accepted the offer they presented to me and now they are taking it back with no explanation. Its funny how when we stopped paying due to covid they continued to harass us on a daily basis yet I've been asked to stop calling. I would like to know exactly what the hold up is and when I will be getting what I am owed. They keep saying they cant tell me a date yet before they gave me 40 days for it to be paid. Disgusting way to treat customers especially during such difficult times!
Truly unbelievable... So I finally after almost 11 weeks received a response to my complaint of being miss sold my Amigo Loan. I had a loan of £1000 topped up too £3000 within 2 months, and then my £3000 loan topped up to £10,000 within 4/5 months - despite several direct debits bouncing! Also throughout these loans I was a medical student who received £370 from student finance and provided Amigo with a ONE OFF cash in hand payment of £400 as my ‘proof of income’. Quite clearly from my bank statements you could see I was already paying back debt and my outgoings were more than my incomings! HOWEVER... Today Amigo took responsibility for miss selling me my first two loans and therefore ‘upheld’ these..... however they DEFENDED my third loan of £10,000 saying I could afford this and my income was £921- this was NOT the case my regular income was £370 and I provided amigo with ONE proof of cash in hand work for £400. They had these documents which proved this. However the response said that I could afford the monthly payments of £427 despite still being a student and despite SEVERAL late payment makers to Amigo ?! (I have asked for my proof documents to be sent back to me, I have my original copies also and my incomings were from student finance every month for £370 with ONE cash in hand proof of £400) not sure how that adds up too £921 but there we go! My credit has only gotten poorer within this time?! How on Earth they can say I couldn’t afford a £1000 loan or a £3000 and have taken responsibility but that I could afford a £10,000 loan with monthly payments being £427 for FOUR years!!!!!! When my financial situation had worsened, I didn’t have a job as I was a medical student and my credit was very poor. I have started to take legal action and Amigo will not be getting away with this... absolutely ridiculous!!!! I understand I was the one who applied for the loan however Amigo have a RESPONSIBILITY to ensure they are not miss selling a loan to someone who can not afford it and has poor credit history! Nov 29,2020Had issues with Amigo as guarantor. Not going into it too much but they didn’t accept my complaint. I took it to the financial ombudsman and amigo then settled it in my favour. Taking it completely off records and giving me my money back. This has been going on for 9 months, got told by them they would be intouch within the next 4 weeks with figures. And it’s been 2 months later. Whenever you speak to people on the phone they’re far from helpful and no sympathy at all. Still waiting just for my figures then I’ll still have to wait for my money. But if they wanted my money they would take it ASAP. JOKES
