I was guarantor for a friend, the loan has been repaid but I felt the company was aggressive when payment was late. I felt harassed by the amount of both emails and texts I received. I can only imagine what my poor friend was going through! I appreciate the necessity of finding out why a payment is late but I feel the company should review timescales for chasing payments and the 'tone' of their correspondence.

UPDATED: Agreement number 31299214 Having completed the questionnaire, provided details of my longstanding mental and physical health issues and doctors certificate in respect to current health problems no one seems to care, there seems to be no process in which someone can take ownership of my complaint and give this is week 16 since I made complaint I do find it really out of sorts in respect to a duty of care. Initial reply to this review posted on 21.12.20 the same day in which Amigo stop processing redress as it seeks a scheme which may take a further year for a conclusion. I hope the FCA do not allow for this to happen, any claim already submitted should be dealt with. If you had of dealt with my complaint within 8 weeks' then I would of had a final response so I hope in these exceptional cases that took longer will still be considered for redress as it is unfair in these circumstances and this group just victims of poor processing. I asked for a timeframe and was hoping to at least to receive a final response letter before Amigo shut for Christmas and New Year. I had written out a review on before but removed it as to give Amigo time to look into this but feel compelled to write this, I am fair and should someone be able to look at this will endeavour to update it. I sincerely hope albeit it at this late stage Amgio looks at my case based on individual merits and that bo future delays are incurred.

Don’t hold your breath for a redress, you’ll suffocate. I’ve been waiting for 11 months and still nothing.

After posting my last review amigo managed to get in touch the same day (after waiting four weeks) to give me the breakdown of my refund and offer. I accepted the offer and was told the refund and removal of my name from the loan would take ten working days. This was due yesterday - today it was actioned to the manager and I was told once this was done the funds would be paid out ASAP and be in my bank within “two hours”. That was at 10.15am this morning and there’s still no refund been sent. Rang amigo to be told there’s nothing more they can do now that it’s already been actioned due to breaking their ten day policy? Happy to hound me for money they believe they’re owed but not so quick to refund the money they took without following procedure. Wouldn’t recommend amigo to anyone. Twelve months I’ve been waiting to get to this stage and they’re dragging it on for as long as they possibly can. Both my physical and mental health have been severely impacted due to the situation I was left in with this loan which is noted on amigos behalf yet customer service are still less than helpful. After logging in to my account to get access to my agreement number to make this review i discovered my arrears had gone up by another £300. Which I was told MONTHS ago would be frozen until the complaint had come to a close.. that close being my name taken from the loan and any impact on my credit file removed - as promised! which again, hasn’t happened! Feels ridiculous to be chasing a company for money that’s agreeably owed to me.

Got a redress claim going through. The initial 8 weeks passed and they only send templated communication then after 9 weeks said I need to fill in questionnaires!!!!. Now 11/12 weeks have passed and still no refund offer for all the money im owed. I'm owed redress from 2 loans. They are using every delaying tactic going. To be fair the staff are really friendly and seem decent when I call but I just want to get this finalised. I should have never been put through all this. I'm owed money and should not be having to chase!!!! Thank you!! Please send my redress offer!

Please no matter how deep you are in debt never go with these They give people loans and top ups generally who have no other way out but to ask someone to step in as guarantor They do not care about you hence the huge interest rates which has now been investigated and had to pay a ton of people back. Even now i am fighting to find out if im paid what im owed is correct on interest and their lack of communication when they owe you money is hell different to being hounded 24-7 every day by them when you cant pay! Please avoid for your own sanity I have had many years of misery

I have had 2 loans with amigo. The first was administered with no issues apart from the extortionate interest charged. The 2nd was a top up where the 1st was settled and an additional amount was credited to my account. This took place in August 2015 to tune of £6500 over 5 years with a payment of £256.91. Thats £15414 total return for amigo. Why is did this i have no idea. Guess desperate at the time. But this is where the problems start. Near the beginning of this loan I had to move the payment date by 2 weeks. When doing this online they do tell you that this move will add interest. At the time the text said, if I remember correctly around £250. What they dont tell you is this interest is added to the capitol balance making this higher and over the term of the loan accrued more interest extending the loan term by over 5 months. I did make a complaint. They did reply with a load of dribble about this was in the T & Cs and I have no claim or right to dispute and the complaint is closed. As I did not have the funds to clear the loan and was in no state of mind to dispute further I carried on with my payments, never late or missing a payment. Now COVID hits, so I call amigo and due to high demands find it impossible to get through. I fill in the online assessment form amd in the beginning they are very helpful and suspend payments for 6 months. Great I think. Lockdown is eased I get back to work and all is good. Then lockdown 2 hits. This time Amigo are no help! Again I email them and get a call back. They agreed to accept £100 payment for 1 month and then spread £157 of arrears over the remaining payments. The advisor told me as the arrears were under 1 month they would not contact my garauntor or issue a default. So I agreed with thanks. They then did not take the £100 payment and blamed me for a declined card payment. To which I can evidence the funds were available. Rather than contact me and offer a solution or ask me to make the payment online they send threatening letters and emails almost immediately. In further contact they demand that I call them as they are to busy to call me and are open 9 to 5 weekdays and 9 to 1 Saturday. I offered to call on my next day off as my working hours are longer and unable to call in work time. The barrage of threatening emails continued from Eleanor Bugh. Who told me that I had 14 days to clear the arrears of £157 OR THEY WOULD ISSUE DEFAULT AND COLLECT FROM GARAUNTOR. This was a direct contradiction from what had been agreed with previous advisors, but again I was told in no uncertain terms all her colleagues were wrong and she was right. As my garauntor has severe health issues and today has gone to hospital to have a cancerous tumor removed I did not want the stress passed to them so i have had to borrow money to pay £157. THIS COMPANY ARE NOTHING BUT ROBBERS PRAYING ON THE VUNRABLE WITH EXTORTIONATE INTEREST RATES! AVOID if you can there are now much better, lower interest options if you to borrow money. Interest cap! Payments made 55 x £256.91 = £14130.05 Plus additional payment of £260.00 Balance still owed £2774.04 Total payable £17164.09 Original total agreement £15414.60 So this equates to an additional £1749.49 to move a payment date 2 weeks over a 5 year term on a £6500 loan. I cant wait to hear the tv/radio Commercial 'have you ever had an amigo loan, if so call to discuss your claim on overcharged interest' it happened to the banks it will happen to amigo if they dont go bust first!

I took a loan out from amigos and made an affordability complain in June got a response in August saying that they have upheld my first loan as it was not affordable but refused to uphold my top up loan which does not make any sense as my circumstances were the same when i took out the first loan. I sent my complaint to the F.O.S on the 24th of August everytime I ring F.O.S they say amigos have still not sent your file across to them. I have rang amigos several times but they keep dodging this matter. A company to avoid at all costs. Not happy with the service at all. Agreement number- 39187007

0 stars. Dont use them. Ruined my life. It will take me YEARS to get back on my feet again. I was a guarantor for someone that bullied me into it, taking full advantage of me not being in the right frame of mind as my dad was murdered. She missed all payment and amigo loans are so happy to harass me. Again and again and again. They pushed me to suicide several times. Tom from amigo loans heard me cry and scream for an hour. A complete hour and still said I have to pay after explaining how I just can't because of my reduced hours due to covid. Why? Why did you even bother asking me about my depression? Even worse they called the police on me embarrassing me in front of my family and street. I need my money back. I want to start my life. I want to move on. They blocked all my twitter accounts because they can't handle the truth that they took advantage of someone that was vulnerable. That one hour with Tom was the last straw and I paid the whole loan off on my credit card. I will be paying that off till my 40's as long as I don't have to deal with the horrible disgusting people from amigo. How do the people of amigo loans live with themselves. And the fake 5 star reviews are hilarious.

Hi my name is Sebastian Lacey and I took a 6,000 loan out a few years ago and by next year I will of paid back close to 14,000 back!! I feel sick I’ve complained via email and I get nothing back. I am now in contact with resolver and believe they have helped me contact amigo but they don’t reply! It’s been nearly two months since i emailed. It’s nearly lost me my house , car all because of how much interest I’ve been paying. It’s affected my mental health I have anxiety over it. It should never of been advertised as such a positive and easy lender due to my circumstances I’ve had to borrow from family to pay them. I’ve spoken to citezens advice and they are supporting me on what to do next. I think we should be entitled to most if not all of our interest back. I understand you should pay what you owe but this is disgusting and I’m going to fight this all the way. That loan should never of been given to me and now I’m burdened with it! Great Covid Christmas this will be. I just wish they would communicate with me.

Can someone advise of what my possible next of action should be? I took a loan of £7000 from amigo. Duration was for 48 months and £299.46 per month. Totalling £14373.64 to be paid at the end of the 48th month. Thats £7373.64 of intrest. Loan was paid to me on the 25th Nov 2016. I requested that the first and all subsequent monthly payment be shifted to the 16th of each month. At the end of the 48th month, amigo be now tells me that I owe a further 3 months of payments ie £898.29 on account of the fact that I initially did change my payment date from the 25th to the 16th. Effectivley amigo is saying that for shifting my payment date forward for 22 days will now cost me £898. This I consider to be very unfair, considering that the laon itself attracted £7373 of intrest and now a further £898 just for changing a payment date. Making a total of £8270 worth of intrest for a £7000 loan. I am seeking for help an how to deal with this very unfortunate sitiuation.
