I was paying back a loan for 4 years , had multiple top ups which I should have never been given due to my income . Paid it all off and filed a complaint , the complaint was then denied as they had made up a random figure (2400 instead of 1200) for my income so they could give me the loan at that time , when asked where they got that figure from I was told Experian had verified it but when I then rang Experian they said they don’t confirm anyone’s income just their credit score . I waited 10 weeks to be lied to after 6 years of paying out sometimes more than Half of my pay check putting me further into debt. Awful awful company with even worse standards and a terrible attitude towards customers . Everyone I spoke to was rude and unhelpful , just reading a script instead of actually listening . Do not get an amigo loan , no matter how bad your situation is , this is NOT the way to go .

Complaint first raised on 08/06/2020 was told it would take 8 weeks to answer my complaint I fully understand there will of been delays due to COVID 19. Finally received a reply on the 06/07/2020 to say there would be a delay to my complaint. Then received another delay on 03/08/2020, didn’t hear anything else until 23/09/2020 where they informed me it would take no less than 4 weeks to issue a response to my complaint, the 4 weeks they offered runs out tomorrow. Can’t say I’m surprised. Tomorrow will be 16 weeks since I sent out my complaint and no reply, yet there’s plenty of people who have had responses and even had offers of redress! What’s going on amigo? Are you just picking and choosing who you respond to? Reference Number. 42008239

Quick to chase for overdue payments but when it comes to them to meet deadlines its a joke. Took complaint to FOS and was upheld by adjudicator who then gave Amigo until 2nd October to respond. Amigo request an extension and this is agreed with FOS until 16th October, yet still no response from them. When you have been found in the wrong Amigo why not just put things right! Forced to go to the ombudsman and waste more peoples time. UPDATE: COVID has not stopped you chasing people for money owed so it shouldnt stop you dealing with complaints. My patience has now run out!

Fair play amigo I really appreciate you doing all you can for me. I am not going to make a false claim like everyone else. I fully appreciate that you helped me in my time of need. I knew what I was getting involved in, it was clear, no hidden fees and you helped me when others wouldn't. Read quite a few reviews and some even say ''why would you lend me money, this is so irresponsible of you, you owe me for lending me money, you knew I couldn't afford to pay'', The society we live in is crazy and I think 95% of the people claiming need to realise you were helped out when others would not give you the time of day. Speaking from experience. The UK needs a lender that thinks outside the box, now more than ever.

I wouldn't give even one star. Customer service so bad . Guy who talk to me jackas . You can see what happing the world right now. Everyone struggling. Yes I am delighted payment. But I payed always . My paid mention works difference cash in hand .I still pay tax . Just different payment. I asked couple times to payment bit late. Or ask them what can I do and other staff . I am single mum supporting my family back home and my little kid . Working three jobs . Don't get the sleep much. I am gonna be honest they help people they choose . Who europin or English. Thats my opinion . And that's what I feel . How he spoken to me rude and loud . He is so horrible person and but customer service. I am not happy customer service. I pay hight interest . I was ok with it . No i don't want pay that bad people

I am a guarantor finally got a response from Amigo they said Any case where the guarantor has made repayments on the upheld agreements are currently on pause while they are under review. We are currently in discussion with the FCA with these cases, due to this these cases are currently on pause at the moment, unfortunately there is no time frame for this at the moment. Anyone give me any advice??

I only put my complaint 28 days ago and I’m seriously hoping my complaint gets dealt with quickly, how is it I know people who have complained, been responded to and refunded in a few weeks, and others are left to wait weeks and weeks?! My account number is 25591774. Hoping to get the matter resolved as quickly as possible!

Letter before action sent today signed for and emailed. 30 days and you know what’s comes next amigo. As you seem to ignore all correspondence and keep fobbing me off with excuse after excuse as to why you haven’t paid and missed the 20 day deadline it’s now on you to pay or explain yourself to a judge lol. You probably won’t even turn up in court should you force my hand. And mark my words this isn’t an empty threat. Will look forward to sending the bailiffs once I get judgement because I have it in black and white. Cya soon

Amigo Loans case: RES9176821 Careless usage of incorrect personal data and sending a final response to an email address not associated with my account. I have had all correspondence throughout the complaint (REF12177U Amigo: 45562360) and my Amigo account registered (those details conveniently now disappeared from my dashboard) and their final response was sent to a random email who is not my email address - to ask why - I had a reply from from Amigo agent (misspelling my name) that this is my primary email, how does data protection work at Amigo may I ask? Not only that , throughout my complaint which took around 6 months I mentioned I kept getting offers to apply for a loan despite complaining about irresponsible lending, again no attention to detail and responsibility for customers wellbeing from Amigo. SUBJECT ACCESS REQUEST - another issue - as part of my initial complaint, I requested subject access request. I was advised it was sent to me and I never received it, despite mentioning I haven't received it, despite asking for it, I never received help or an offer for this to be re-sent. This has not only caused me a lot of distress on top of already stressful financial difficulty by the company which promotes themselves as a help for people in need for financial support. I have spent 6 months, back and forth with Amigo, going through my lending complaint (which I'm now referring to Financial Ombudsman) ended up not hearing the response as it was sent to an incorrect email address. This has caused me losing sleep. Not only was this stressful, time consuming and exhausting mentally process but completely unprofessional to send a final response to some random email address or never provide me with subject access request and completely ignore my concerns. The loan, the complaint process topped up my anxiety and depression.

Loan number: 31398364 I accepted a cash refund on a claim i made against amigo on 25/08/20 and was told the funds would be in my bank within 20 days. Im am now at almost double that timescale. I have tried numerous times to get an update on my claim and to find out why it is taking so long only to be given a generic “it shouldn't be taking this long” and “i will contact the relevant department and you will be contacted within the next 24 hours”. Funnily enough i never get contacted. I contacted amigo again this week and to my amazement they told me that although i have been offered a cash refund which i accepted almost 2 months ago, they had ‘forgot’ to speak to my guarantor, and depending on what information they have and how the conversation goes i may actually end up owing my guarantor money out of a claim i made and i won! Again this ‘contacting my guarantor’ will no doubt drag on unnecessarily but why send me an offer, blatantly ignore all contact from me, and then completely change the offer well after it has been accepted! Shambles and a joke

Complaint ref: 52041110 Absolutely awful customer service. They are the first ones to ask you for money when you are late even 1 day, claiming this is their obligation. Your obligation is to respond to complains within accurate timescales too. You're the first ones to send threatening messages, yet in no rush to respond to complaints! I've been diagnosed with Stress and anxiety and had to take time off work which resulted in no pay and i am in financial distress. All because your company will not give an answer. Stop using COVID as an excuse, you can't even give a rough time to respond. I have been waiting 9 weeks now to hear about my complaint and believe me, I will be taking this to news and to court should my health get worse!!!!!

so weeks ago amigo made me an offer which i accepted. gave me a date of payment but never happened even replied to my last review saying a colleague had spoken to me and were looking into it for me. now they have the absolute cheek to say after all that they never received my acceptance. think they would have brought this up before now if there was any truth to it. are they trying to start their dillusional 35 working days wait time all over again.

This company are scum. Clearly not done affordability checks for thousands of customers. If a loan was late by 1 day...myself and guarantor would be bombarded with texts and calls daily. Yet 7 weeks since a complaint log and I've had 1 email to say they have recieved complaint. Despite numerous chases I've got nowhere so leaving to FOS to sirt now. This company is a shining example of the sort of loams you should avoid at all costs. Luckily all 9...that's right 9 loans and Top ups have all been paid hence why theres probaly been no reply as they cant get anymore blood from the stone. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I put a complaint in 8 weeks ago and was told it would be dealt with still not dealt with and was given a email yesterday saying they haven’t dealt with it and will be sending a response as soon as they can I’ve emailed them a bunch of times and still never get a response

Not only do they not answer emails they don’t acknowledge complaints within the right timeframe. The last few months amigo have paused my direct debit and not told me and then when I get a message about a missed payment the next day I am at fault. They say they have no proof that they didn’t tell me but they don’t have any proof they did, they have caused so many arguments between me & my guarantor who is my partner but they don’t care they just want their money...oh and if they do find fault with themselves you get £30. Like that covers emotional trauma. Stay away from them if you can, my experience was great to begin with clearly to get us to sign up but once they have you they don’t care

Absolutely awful company. 8 months a refund has been chased They offered my guarantor a refund of nearly £11000 which was excepted. Now they are saying they have put the claim on hold, as it would leave me with a outstanding balance, THAT IS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY GUARANTOR. You have done nothing but lie after lie, to my guarantor, who is my elderly father, the refund is his not mine, you are predetors,

Time for a multi-lawsuit?? Most disgusting company out there. Constant lies. Constant distraction. Laugh at sick and vulnerable. Intentionally cause stress and illness by harassing when no money and avoiding sorting redress when in the wrong. Got offered redress figure. No refund just pay off chunk of loan and reflect it on account. Accepted, with the exception of an amount that I don’t agree they can add for “unpaid interest”, which didn’t apply to my account. Told I could accept and send to FOS. Took over a month for them to finally tell me they had spoken to the department to close down my guarantor’s account and reflect the correct amount on mine. Over a 100 emails ignored by amigo. Got told wrong information multiple times, like everyone’s making it up. Finally called and got told by guy on phone that everyone had told me wrong and unpaid interest did not apply to my account. He told me himself he had personally spoken to department to accept offer - no banner to accept online - and that it had would take ten days. Five days later, after chasing and chasing and chasing - how hard is it to update a figure when no money is being returned?! - I get a random email, with no explanation, giving me an offer for £2 less!! No explanation, no reason. And STILL no acceptance. They are trying to kill people with stress, and they actually think it’s funny. At this point, they are toying with everyone. It’s disgusting. Recalculating - after I was already told it was accepted and was just waiting for figures to change!! - is an absolute joke. Now, no response and no change to account. Over a month after original redress figure. The only way to go is lawyers... anyone fancy joining up? Because they way they’re treating people is absolutely flipping vile!! Just change the sodding figure!!!!!!
