Absolutely diabolical as a guarantor was made an offer accepted and told 35 working days... Day 37 and still no money but been told that the FCA have stepped in and paused redress payments because it puts the borrower into financial difficulty. I have rang FCA and they said they don't get involved like that. After this phone call I ring amigo back to be told this shouldn't affect me because I have been made an offer and accepted. Apparently amigo have sent 3 emails to the payments department to find out what the hold up is but they have had no response... And still have no date when the money will be paid. You cannot speak to a manager and you can't speak to anyone in payments. Also to add I up until today I had made countless contact with amigo to make sure that my refund would be paid and to make sure nothing had changed and it was only today DAY 37 I was told of the FCAs involvement with this. From August until today I think I have rang around 18 times and I will continue to do so until I get my money. And now at 5.30 on Friday evening I am being told the redress is being investigated but they have no details has to why??? Would anyone know why it is being investigated? *UPDATE... I am still waiting for my money now working day 41 and you have taken to not picking up my calls this is not right all I want is my money and for this to be over!!!!

Am a good business man but I did have sum problem in my life but now am back on my feat a gain I just need sum money to buy a van to do my business if I get the money it will not be a problem for me to pay back

Complained 1 week ago, got final response this morning, logged in accepted it and updated my bank detials, loan cleared and 6.5K refunded within an hour - excellent service!!!

Complaint made in February. No response from the company whatsoever and still no response to emails even today. The Ombudsman managed to organise the case and I accepted the offer last week but didn’t even receive an email confirming this from Amigo. Also no phone calls were returned... ever? You’re just told the FOS internal dept there does not have a phone line. You’re also told they are having trouble with the redress if there was a guarantor payment made on the account. After waiting since Feb I will be shortly filing for damages as my Health and that of my fathers has rapidly declined due to stress. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. ** UPDATE- regarding the reply below from Amigo loans - I’ve been told the same automated spiel many a time. Amigo Loans missed all the guidelines and never responded even to my complaint back in Feb until the FOS were involved and are still not responding to even basic emails regarding enquiries on the account. Time for a solicitor

That’s fine that your going to get someone to look into it, but we are on day 56 with no refund I want the refund now!!! If I put in for a loan I would be paid that today so why can’t you pay me my refund today?

I have been following debt camel reviews and have just witnessed a payout from amigo loans for gurantor same day payout while others being told 35 days can someone please state how this is fair when accepting that day and being paid out wen others being told 35 days wen amigo say cases are different I don’t see how this can be wen it’s the same sort of case I have been struggling through COVID being furloughed and still being told I have to wait I was more than happy to wait the 35 days but why should anyone when people with same case being paid hours later if this isn’t resolved I will take further

Day 35 is here and what a shocker no money has been paid in to account. Amigo are awful fair play. Kid on the phone yesterday told me he cant see any reason why it wont be in there today. Fuming

Working day number 37 and still no refund and no change to the online account to show this has even been sorted and payment sent. Keep getting told different dates. First 15, then 20, then 35 working days and we are at 37 and still nothing. They’ve said I should receive payment by next Tuesday which will be a total of 42 working days! Will update if online account changes to reflect refund or if I actually receive money but doesn’t look like anyone is receiving their money back.

We are now into the 11th week since I am yet to hear back from my affordability complaint. I’ve been on a payment holiday and they’re now telling me that I can’t have any more payment breaks. How about, before you tell me what I need to do, you look into my complaint that is more than 2 weeks over the original 8 week time scale and actually update me rather than send me a generic templated email? These guys lent to me without meeting their own terms and conditions, not only once. But twice, they topped up my loan only 1 month after me taking out the original loan. I’ve had to change my repayment date numerous time because of affordability and fear of them chasing my guarantor! After I had a miscarriage, I had to SELL myself on the streets to be ABLE to afford to make my monthly payment. They drove me to the point of suicide. I’ve been patient, I haven’t chased them or called them even once regarding my complaint but this is truly unacceptable. 44093326

This company has been absolutely outstanding in these difficult times my mum is with buddy loans and they have been terrible no breathing space no help with payments nothing but amigo has helped every step of the way I would highly recommend STEER CLEAR OF BUDDY LOANS

Is anyone actually receiving their redress within the specified time frame of 20 working days? Seems extremely unfair that if your were to take out a new loan the money would be recieved within hours yet it takes beyond 20 working days for a refund and nobody can give you a legitimate reason why or an exact date of when it will be paid. However, if you are late with a payment they are immediately chasing and demanding it immediately. All I am expecting is professionalism and it appears Amigo are clearly lacking. Abbie at Amigo has today (30 Sept) confirmed I am in the next payment batch and I will receive my refund on Friday 2nd October. Will update accordingly. *UPDATE* Received refund today (Friday 2nd October)

Due to loss of work because of Covid, I was hoping to use the redress payment towards my rent and bills. For the past Two weeks I have given a run around by staff at Amigo. I ask a simple question and they don’t give you a straight answer. Surely there is someone within the company with the power to say for sure that the payment will be processed on X day. It is not that hard. This is stressful time for a lot of people so please stop the run around! This is unprofessional, unfair and frustrating! I was told my payment was posted on 21st and then again on 25th of September. Still nothing.r Ref: 35734105

If I could give no stars I would. I accepted redress on the 26/8/20 and was told to wait 20 working days welly hats up now and they can’t even give me a timeframe of how long I have to wait all they say Is bars with us. Horrible bullies when you owe them money they couldn’t even get my name right on emails they would send calling me and my gurwntor by different names completely. To say I am stressed and is an understatement this has been going on since January very poor customer service to not even tell you how long you will have to wait something doesn’t sit right

My affordability claim was recieved on the 25th of July neally 9 weeks later now and still nothing back from them this is an absaloute disgrace and still no dsar which was suppose to be sent within 30 days. This is not acceptable at all. Agreement number 39661955

A complaint made to amigo loans resulted in a redress ( not cash refund ) upon learning my personal issues amigo worked closely with myself to resolve my issue that quite frankly wasn’t any of amigos business. As a result I got approx 50% of my redress as a cash refund to help fix the issues I was facing. Natalie one of the complaints advisors took customer service to the next level, Natalie hasn’t just helped me out with my complaint I found myself opening up and being supported.. these skills are not in a job description so to have had the service that I received is just incredible and I feel so much happier with my personal life and finances and this is all because one person that works for amigo went that extra mile..

Terrible company I get intermediated on the phone when I was debating going into a debt management plan, so I went to a no win no fee, company after amigo would only say sorry for what happened now someone else is involved they offer me redness but won’t uphold my 1st loan to save them some money, the company is terrible to deal with

I can’t even think where to start to review. They advertise “no hidden fees or interest charges” yet, they have charged me for £1470 interest on a loan that was paid off in order to top up the loan! How does that make sense? Complete scam wow

If i could rate this terrible company ZERO STARS i would as 1 star is too high. • They lie about making redress payments in the 20 working days time frame. Don't be surprised if this goes over and they won't tell you when it will be paid out. • The complaints team constantly fob you off and can't answer direct questions. The dept is a complete waste of time. • When you owe them money they hassle you left right and center via phone calls, letters, txt, default notices. But the minute they owe you money they will not give you a time frame of when you will be paid the money. • If the complaints team can't help you, they will not put you through to a manager. Its basically tbe complaints team final word. Apparently their managers are not customer facing? • If you are due a redress payment and you are told that guarantors has been taken off the loan, this is also a lie as they still took money from my guarantors bank account despite the redress payment going towards paying the loan off Shambles of a company from top to bottom. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
