May 01,2023The long list of five star reviews for Amphlett Lissimore really says it all. This review adds yet another five stars! We approached them for the first time to sell my mother’s house after her move to a nursing home. It was a stressful time for the whole family and we needed a good solicitor to progress the sale as smoothly as possible. Jimmy Wensley in the Bromley office did most of the work and was brilliant. He was highly professional and showed great empathy towards the family. He even phoned me one evening to put my mind at rest over an issue he knew was worrying me and visited my mother in the nursing home to discuss the sale with her. Jimmy was also very responsive, often replying to e-mails within minutes and keeping us updated at every stage. It felt as though we were his only clients! Other staff were involved after exchange of contracts and we were equally impressed with them. The sale was completed quickly and we really could not have asked for more. This outstanding quality of service is not something I have experienced from solicitors in the past and yet the Amphlett Lissimore fees are still competitive. I have since found out that they deal with a whole range of matters including wills, probate, powers of attorney, commercial property, civil litigation and employment, as well as residential conveyancing. I would not hesitate to recommend Amphlett Lissimore to anyone.

On each occasion I was kept informed about the ongoing process and received prompt and timely information. Furthermore, I had no difficulties with communication ie getting to speak with the appropriate person namely Tracy McAneny who was excellent. This was of particular value as on the most recent occasion I was an executor accountable to over 20 people. Additionally their charges are competitive and very reasonable. Consequently I have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Mar 02,2023I asked Amphlett Lissimore to sort out my fathers will after he passed away in October 2021. The case was given to Akilah McEwen in November 2021. The will is an easy will as I am the only beneficiary, and i also own half my fathers house as my mother had left her half of the house to me when she passed in 2010. (Which Akilah had worked on and had already finalised when mum passed) I was told that nice easy straight forward will like this one are nice to work on, and was sent a letter saying that the case should all be finalised by August 2022. By the start of November 2022 I asked how much longer would it be before the will is completed as it had now been in the hands of Amphlett Lissimore for a year. I was told very shortly, they were sorry it had taken longer than anticipated but this was due to covid. I asked if i could have the will and property transferred into my name by Christmas 2022. I was assured yes to this request. I wrote a letter of complaint asking why this case had still not been completed on 26th February 2023. On 28th February I had an email sent to me (this is two days after my complaint) saying that my fathers money could be paid to me that day, but the transfer of the house is still not quite ready. How long have Amphlertt Lissimore been sitting on my inheritance before i was paid out, and why my property has still not been transferred into my name after 15 months working on my case. Considering this is a very simple will, and I am the only beneficiary. No property had to be sold. Why has this case taken so very long to be finalised. I would certainly not recommend these solicitor to anybody. Loosing my father has been very stressful for me and I just want to get on with my life.

Adele was especially kind and helpful in assisting me in sorting out my late partner's probate. This was during the Covid lockdown when nothing was straightforward. Most recently, she's helped me to update my Will. I've appreciated the quality of the work, and the speed with which it was completed. I will definitely continue to use Amphlett Lissimore as my solicitors and am happy to recommend them.
