It's very easy to order a SIM from asda mobile, but impossible to create an account and top it up! Website is very hard to use and it keeps taking me back to the same page, sends an activation code but there's nowhere to put it in!!! Very frustrating!!!! I don't have all day to work out how to do it!!!

After putting my new sim card in I couldn't log into my account. I tried several times but no joy. So I rang the helpline and although I had to wait for 25 mins, the lady was very helpful and she did everything I needed, which was to set up a regular monthly payment and also she changed the new phone number to my old one. After that I was able to log into my account with no problems.

Although bit of an issue with receiving the SIM card due perhaps to royal mail the customer service people were very helpful and sorted issues efficiently.

Website was down so unable to set up an account for over a week! Gave up and ordered a new sim from another network (Talk Home) without any problems.

Edit: 20/1/25 Thank you for your reply, but why do I now have to go and contact another department, and explain the whole thing again? You've read my complaint here and you have my contact details, so why can't you start the procedure? --------------------------------------- Purchased a 'Talk and Text' SIM for my daughter. It arrived promptly. We put the SIM in her phone and it showed 4 bars (full) signal...but for some reason she couldn't make or receive calls/texts. We tried everything we could think of, but to no avail. We just couldn't understand why it showed signal, but didn't work. We contacted Asda Mobile, but because it was around Christmas, They took about a week to respond. When they did, they said that their engineers were looking into it. About 10 days later (after WE chased them for an update), they said they couldn't find any issues, so they suggested all the usual troubleshooting, like different phone, reset phone, wait 24 hours, clear cookies etc. - all the obvious things that we had already done. So another few days later, we chased them up AGAIN and they said all they could do was send a different SIM card out. While waiting for the new SIM, I decided to do some research of my own, to see if anyone else had experienced the same thing. Low and behold, quite a few people had...and the solution = when you get your SIM, you have to call Asda Mobile for them to activate it! Absolutely nowhere does it say that you have to call them to activate. In fact, their own website says to just put the SIM in your phone and they'll send you a text when they detect it. So nobody at Asda Mobile thought of 'activating the SIM' as the first port of call? Useless! So now we have the SIM up and running, we tried to create an Asda Mobile account to manage the account. It wont let you create one! No matter what you do, it always returns an error and all the boxes you just filled in turn red. It doesn't even tell you what the issue is! Again, we tried everything we could think of - different usernames, different email addresses, different passwords, different browsers, using mobile data AND WiFi, different computers etc. It just does not work! All in all, Asda Mobile is not fit for purpose...and unless they fix this now, or offer some sort of goodwill gesture, I will be cancelling and moving to a different network. This kind of service and these kinds of problems you would expect in the year 2000... it's 2025 for crying out loud!

Got an Asda SIM card for my daughter’s phone. The most complicated SIM card I’ve experienced to get up and running, everything was set up then after a month texts arrived about not being able to take another payment so colossal charges suddenly applied if we used the sim. Called to resolve, customer service agent was frustrated with my questions and just repeated the same thing, even though clearly my questions stemmed from the unclear advice being provided. I don’t think I’d use Asda again for a SIM card and will change it soon to another provider.

I bought the sim, it came and it woudnt activate. Over and over again, the website would crash or litterally not allow me to log in and activate my sim and gave me a "not authourised" error. I had to eventually cancel and get a refund. Please dont buy this sim, just more hassle.

I was a bit dubious about switching networks from the same one I've had for eons to Asda Mobile on a SIM only plan but I can honestly say I have found them great! Very easy to switch to my old mobile number plus I needed to check out a couple of queries by calling them and they dealt with them well. Now got a good saving on my phone bill, I'm impressed!

I haven’t been able to activate the sim. The app doesn’t allow me to activate the sim. Tried a dozen times, then bought a giff gaff sim which worked immediately. I wont use an asda sim or asda mobile again.
