I have paid for a SIM but I am having problems activating the sim. I tried to telephone customer services number numerous times but got a continual engaged tone. I have now emailed the customer services and have received a response asking for more details. I got the sim before Christmas and I am still waiting to use the new phone.
No sim arrived weeks later
I went with ASDA mobile as it is the only place I can find a sim without data roaming. After purchasing it I have tried numerous times to set up an account online and the website sends me round in a loop. I also got my husband to try (who works in IT) so that I could confirm it wasn't user error. This was disappointing for my son on Christmas day, however by phone the following day I managed to get the sim registered and activated. I have since received numerous emails telling me I need to activate the sim, which my son is using with no trouble. I have also tried again to register, and I receive the same journey online sending me in a loop. So I have today cancelled the sim as I need to be able to manage things easily online and not have to call up every time I want to make a change.
I had difficulties setting up my account and registering my SIM card, and contacted ASDA customer service helpline. The connection was poor and probably not UK based. The agent became rude and impatient in her manner towards me as the conversation progressed. When I said I had difficulty hearing what she was saying she began to shout, sigh and huff. We all have bad days but maybe this is not the right role or additional training is required, not all calls will be straightforward. I also had trouble and continue to have trouble accessing Asda mobile through Google search engine. As google is probably one of the main search engines your site should be user friendly.
It's good took a little time to keep my old number but it was Christmas.
I spent Christmas and new year in Spain. I did everything i was told to do so as I could make calls send texts, and use date while in Spain..everything worked apart from making calls. I even added an extra £10, but still wouldn’t let me make calls. So my promise of calling my elderly parents on Christmas Day and new years day never happened. And don’t expect a real person from Asda to reply to your message on here.. it will just be a robot reply.
Im already with Asda Mobile on one of my phones(no problems at all),recently ordered a new Asda Mobile sim to use with my newly purchased 5G Tablet,actually ordered a 1p Mobile sim at same time,the 1p Mobile sim arrived next day and was inserted and is now being used,about 3 days later Asda sim still hadn't arrived,but received an Asda reminder email to activate my sim that hadn't yet arrived,it arrived a couple of days later,im still receiving activation emails, but it will not be getting activated as it's been thrown in a drawer,as i am using the 1p Mobile sim,i don't need a reply from Asda Mobile,as this is just a review and not an enquiry

The website is the worst that I have ever used. You end up going through the same process over and over and then it doesn’t recognise you and you have to delete your account and start over again
Every month I have to ring to get the auto renewal to go through. This is my 13 year old daughters phone, and she is left not being able to ring out or message because it hasn't renewed again!! Getting a little fed up with it now.
I had to contact the help line to set up the phone as no verification code came through despite more than 1 attempt on 22/12/24 I then had to contact the helpline again on 9/0125 in order to reset user name as could not access my online account to set up pay as you go.

Would all be fine if only the auto-renew monthly payment would actually automatically renew. Every month I go through the rigmarole of phoning up and paying manually and every month the staff waste my time "looking into it" promising that it will work next month... Which it doesn't!
Got my SIM card on Saturday. Have yet to set up my account. Apparently, everything is "down for maintenance/upgrades on the website". Why is it beyond the capability of this service to put a message on the website, or send a network message to all users to that effect? This network has effectively taken my money, and I can't even set up my account, and customer services have "very kindly" activated my bundle of minutes/texts, whilst I still can't link my number, top up card, or add a payment card to my account. Are we really living in 2025? It might as well be a 3rd world country!
