Be aware that if you need warranty work done use the company that supplied the caravan. If you use another ATS (who suppose to cover warranty work and you must use if under warranty). You can be charged still for extra labour charges. Warranty on a replacement ‘trip switch’ for a caravan less than a year old is costing an extra £45 labour as Baileys only pay them £35 pounds towards fitting it. I have been referred to the Terms and Conditions but who reads every part! Thought it be like a car if it’s faulty it’s fixed at no extra charge. So if you buy a caravan make sure it’s local dealer, as getting it back to dealer for warranty work could be a problem. As mine is in Devon and we are in Essex as we bought it at NEC show. Hope this helps new buyers
Well, we are new to Bailey Caravans, having previously had a Swift. My dealings with the company so far, and the Van itself have been excellent. We really love everything about our new van and hope to enjoy many holidays in it.
Very speedy response time & an email replying to my request! I knew exactly what I had to do.
Thanks for replying bailey Bristol ,I have had reply from your customer service not interested, They have known about the floor for 6 months and said in the beginning they will get procedure and let my caravan service at longeaton derby know ,they just come up with it and I would have to foot the bill ,the procedure I've been waiting for as I was told longeaton service left the body off to do the job that quality control could of put right if it was inspected properly in manufacturing, customer service said to cut the lino and glue it down I've been waiting for that for over six months, just incase no one knows the lino is on a roll full length of the caravan which a stone got underneath and you want them to cut it and glue it is this from your experienced experts on repairing their faults on my not yet three year old caravan
We have a 2014 bailey approach autograph. Damp is common with these vans where floor meets the wall. poor design and poor workmanship in equal measures. Parts are hard to get and very very very very expensive as are repairs and would not buy again. Fixed the water ingress and damp myself and modified. If I can do this surely bailey could address these faults when building, Alutec good concept but dont work. compossit floor may help but sack design team might be way forward Dry walls and roof but wet floors with Alutec, just read on motorhome sites its the main topic.
We have been owners of a Bailey Caravan for nearly 30 years using them throughout the year. We have visited many places home and abroad which without the van we wouldn’t have done. During that time we have had the odd problem but these have always been resolved. We are looking forward to a few more years in our Bailey.
We have had several Bailey caravans since 2008 and have enjoyed each one. We only changed vans as new products were added which made our experience better. We have now progressed to the too the tree. As we have an Alicanto grande porto which suits our needs best.
I let my habitation service lapse due to unforseen circumstances which would have meant my warranty being null and void but, after sending an e mail to after care at Bailey, Rebecca replied with good news saying as a good will gesture they would extend the period of cover. Thank you Rebecca and thank you Bailey
After being unable to access the rear of the caravan due to a failed bathroom door lock which luckily did not leave us trapped in the rear of the caravan we had to travel to a dealer for an emergency repair, during this journey the cupboard door latch above the kitchen failed due to not being fitted correctly and damaged the worktop. This was witnessed directly by a bailey technician. warranty claim rejected as bailey say all cupboard should be emptied before use!!!!!! Absolute joke. so beware if you have a Bailey leisure vehicle, as your not supposed to use the cupboards BECAUSE THEY CANNOT FIT AND ADJUST LATCHES !!!!!!! Never in my life have i purchased such a poorly built vehicle . customer service, non existent! On top of the various other issues we have had with this caravan it is the last straw.
Bailey Caravans seems to have a problem with After Sales support and definitely a shortage of spare parts. I had a problem which was solved with the exceptional help of Gillian Pitcher customer service manager.and that is the reason for my high rating .
I’ve purchased parts several times in the past from a number of caravan manufacturers. I’ve always found Bailey parts the easiest to obtain. My latest contact with Bailey for parts was, as usual, a quick, helpful and friendly response. Nicholas East with another colleague could not have been more helpful.
We purchased a new Alicanto Grande 2 Evora with a list of faults and issues which have occurred from day one. How these caravans get past quality control god only knows. Complaints to Bailey are met with defensive responses and excuses. They through responsibility back to the dealers who in turn say they didn’t build the vans. We have had nothing but heart ache and regret since spending our life savings on this caravan. I would recommend joining the Bailey Alicanto FB group and reading the issues raised by owners before paying with your savings. IMHO Bailey should be contacting customers with a written apology and a promise to put things right. You do tend to feel alone as a customer.
Recently bought a 2024 Bailey Unicorn Seville having had a similar van from a competitor. We are thrilled with the Bailey, they have thought of everything, it's a fantastic van to be living in, although a 2 berth, it's light, spacious but very cosy and lovely to live in. I have had a conversation and email exchange with the after care team today to complement the company. It was great to actually be able to speak to a person! I have every confidence that if something does go wrong it will be swiftly sorted. A completely different experience to the previous company who claim to be top quality and reliable.
I have just bought a Bailey Autograph 79-6 2017 in the past few weeks. I have emailed the Bailey support team asking about several different products and advice in general. Nothing wrong with the motorhome just looking to upgrade a few things. A massive shout out to Nicholas East in the aftercare team A+ service and great support and help. In fact could not be more helpful and responding to all my emails with 24 to 48 hours. The team as a whole first class. Thank you so much.
We bought 2022 bailey 640+ in June its was a really hot day when we picked the caravan up I noticed condensation on one of the windows , cut a long story short the window had a crack in it that was noticed by me or my local dealer till after I got the caravan home it went back though the dealer who told me it needed a whole new window and hinge bar and as of today 25.10.23 we are still waiting for the hinge bar to arrive at the dealership they have the window but not the hinge bar, this is very disappointing as we love the caravan but not the after sales service.
In reply to Baileys regarding the underneath floor delaminating yes we have now finally had over a 1/3 rd of the floor replaced. Nobody has been willing to advice why a caravan under 3years old should have this problem and why is there no guarantee other the 12 months from the dealer. Baileys need to put there hands up and accept they have or had a problem with this year of caravan and before.
So after many years away from caravanning we decided to return as we were retiring and would again have the time. In february of this year we bought a new 2023 Phoenix +640. Unfortunately in July I had an accident with a site entry gate requiring repair to the caravan. Long story short - we took our van to the retailer in July for them to quote the job, got go ahead from the insurance and asked our caravan supplier to do the job 08.08.23 and they then ordered the parts and got a delivery date of 09.10.23 - nearly a 2 month wait to get the parts to fix it. Time rolls on and as of today they are still awaiting parts - Bailey say they have a supplier issue and cannot even give them an estimated delivery date. This is really not the type of product support I am used to - I am pretty sure they have the parts to continue to make the current model (which mine is) - but beware if you need parts you are literally on your own. If you buy a Bailey - can you really afford to wait for months for parts if anything goes wrong - buy Bailey at your own peril . REPLY TO BAILEY OFFER OF HELP 23.10.2023. After going through the system with Bailey aftersales the position as at 13.11.2023 is that we are still waitning for parts (we have been waitng for parts since 8th August) We still cannot get a delivery date from Bailey so that the repair to my caravan can be completed). This has now got up past the 3 month stage.. Anybody thinking of buying Bailey in the future should think long and hard because if you have an accident or need parts for other reasons are you willing to park up your investment with no idea of when you will be able to get it repaired. On a lighter note you could always buy 2 and keep one for spares as they have no problem building new ones. UPDATE 28.11.2023 Still no sign of parts ordered 08/08/2023 or any indication of when they will have them in, this is for a 2023 Bailey Phoenic +640 that they have been building all year!
Seamlessly transferred the remaining waranty on our (new to us) Bailey Autograph - even though it took me a few attempts to send over the right docs.! Thanks to Nick East at Bailey for being patient, and helpful.
Purchased new unicorn Vigo December 2022, reported defective front blind January 2023, (warranty claim agreed by Bailey via Campbells our dealer) a retention and recoil wire had not been fitted correctly to one side of the large front window. Despite a number of requests to both Bailey and the dealer we are 10 months on, still waiting for the replacement blinds. On each occasion its the same answer, "We are having problems with our supplier" During the last 10 months Bailey have continued to build caravans but choose not to honor their warranty agreement and replace the defective blind. How long is this going on for I ask, 12 months 18 months, 24 months? Really dissatisfied with the excessive waiting and no future date for resolving the issue.

Mar 01,2024A lady called Di in the afterCare dept. Understanding of the situation and the length of time that has elapsed, having to put up with a caravan in such poorly state ! Within 30 mins had put everything in order and made things happen, followed it up several times and kept me informed throughout. First class ambassador for Baileys, Warranty is now going ahead hopefully will be good within the next few weeks
