I've used Bellhop several times, and while I found it expensive, I had some good experiences ONLY because of the movers themselves (TIP them!!!!). However, I've had some very negative experiences that have turned me away from the entire model. 1. Expense: it's QUITE pricey, and if the movers themselves were earning the lion's share of that, I'd be ok with it. (Despite knowing that tipping culture actually hurts workers and benefits corporations, I do tip the movers well. I'd love some transparency on how much the people performing the actual labor are compensated.) 2. Bellhop cancelled a reservation at the last minute that I had made with them (not something you expect). It was actually more than inconvenient, as it altered plans and other reservations contingent on the move. It wasted many hours of my, and other folks, time. 3. I cancelled a reservation I had made only three days prior the other day, and was hit with a 10% cancellation fee. Everyone at Bellhop with whom I spoke said "Sorry! It's automatic!". Mind you, I wasn't compensated when they cancelled on ME. 4. The windows of operation aren't convenient to the customer, yet they're charging a premium. 5. On this most recent reservation, I was repeatedly contacted by Bellhop (one call was at 7:30 am) for services I was not interested in. It's obnoxious. 6. Bellhop forces you to interact exclusively online, until you try to cancel a reservation, then you have to call and wait on hold. Why can't we cancel online? Hmmm... 7. See #1: pricey.

It seems Bellhop deleted my earlier review of our truly terrible experience with its company. I'd like to add to it and point out that one of their employees (a subcontractor by the name of Brandon) also solicits customers as a mover but doesn't have adequate insurance (he claims to have coverage over moving but only has 'general' liability). This is irresponsible of Bellhop and I've also alerted their sales department (Rob) but did not get a reply.

I used Bellhop for my latest move. I really wish I hadn't. My wife purchased a Groupon for $150, good for $200 worth of services. I went to Bellhops website to see what I needed to do to arrange my move. Bellhop ask's a series of questions about how big you place is, how many rooms, do you have any of these items to move, how far away from the street etc. Using this they give you a price and set you up for how many people and the amount of time it will take to move you. After answering their questions, I was told it would take 4 people with a truck, 5 hours to move me, for about $950. Before I moved, I started getting calls from Bellhop to switch all my services through them. Fine, I suspect that they make some extra money on getting people to switch utilities through them, but I don't know. On Bellhops website the Groupon took us to gave us a 5% off code to utilize for our move. When I tried to book, I could not get the Groupon or the %5 off code to work. I called Bellhop and customer service added both of these to my account. Moving day came and 3 out of 4 people showed up. I was told the other person could not get off work. So those 3 would just have to pick it up. The Driver told me that Bellhop screwed up this move because it should have been a 2-truck move. He said we may have to make a 2nd trip. Well 5 hours turned into 13 and they did not finish. I ended up having to rent my own U-Haul and finishing moving myself. However, Bellhop charged me full price over $2500 for 4 people. I have to complain to get them to lower the amount because I was being charged for someone who was not there. They took off the extra person but nothing else and left me to clean up their mistake myself. They also said that I could only use the Groupon I paid for or the 5% off coupon they gave me to use. So, either the front end is not trained very well, or the back end isn't.

So i probably could have found movers myself but it would have taken multiple phone calls. This was one stop shopping. I dislike the borderline harassment of their “free concierge”They call and call and text and text and call. Oh wait and then they call AGAIN. Listen I did not need help with the move I had everything already taken care of. Take the hint.

Avoid this service AT ALL COSTS. I had originally a scheduled move date over a month in advance. On the day of the scheduled move, the movers did not show up at all and the only message I ever received from them wasn't even for the originally scheduled time until going completely dark. I had to call customer service twice before finally getting an update nearly five hours after the scheduled time informing me that the movers would not be showing up that day and the soonest they could get to me was TWO DAYS later. The compensation offered was pitiful considering the loss of income from taking an additional day off work would far exceed any “discount” offered, potentially more if I'm stuck in the exact same situation again from them. It is has been the worst customer service experience of my life from one of the worst companies I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. At no point was I ever treated like anything Other than another paycheck by their employees. If I could rate them lower than one star, I would.

The movers were great! They were fast and efficient, taking care to wrap any furniture that needed it such as desks, grandfather clock, couches. They were very kind and professional. Huge shoutout to Matt & Trace!

Dwayne, Pat, and Austin in the Chattanooga market did incredible with my move! No damages, no stress, and they got everything done SO efficiently! Absolutely would let them move me again. My booking agent Nicole was amazing too, she is the best!

The crew was absolutely amazing they went above and beyond they were extremely careful with everything they removed any potential items that could’ve been damaged. If I need to move again I would definitely use this service and I will recommend it to anyone. I know that is moving.

All of the guys that helped me with my move were wonderful, but there were a few small things that could be improved. 2 pieces of my furniture were scratched/slightly damaged in the move. I'm not sure which crew caused the damage, but maybe there needs to be more training/supplies provided to protect furniture. Also, the contracted unloaders at my final destination commented that there was not enough communication from Bellhop about the job. They had no idea how big of a truck they needed to unload, what was in the truck, or if they needed any other supplies to unload/assemble anything.

I scheduled and paid for 3 movers to unload my pod. The day of service, the original movers canceled and Bellhop sent me only 2 people. These 2 guys were hard working but Bellhop won't split the pay for the 3rd guy I initially paid for between the 2 that actually showed up nor have they given me a refund for the difference. Not a happy mover at all.
