This company is an absolute disgrace and you should steer well clear from them. Not only had they sent the wrong amount of workers for the move, they also didn’t provide the packing materials we ordered. When asked about how to resolve this, they told us to go to Home Depot ourselves and told us to get the wrong amount of packing materials, which is not at all something you expect from a full packing service as expensive as them. To add to the stuff up, they then left me on the phone for four hours trying to resolve this matter. Sales pushed off blame to customer service, who did not call me back for hours even while the job was live, and then left me on hold endlessly until eventually I spoke to Emil who cancelled my order (per my request). All the while claiming it was Home Depot’s fault for not sending the boxes and not being accountable. Alex and Rob from the Sales team seemed nice enough but relatively incompetent and not focused on the job, and certainly didn’t take the job or customers seriously. Again - steer the hell away from this terrible business. Shockingly bad experience. (We ended up paying for a contractor to move our house instead of trusting these numpties with the move.)

Update: Bellhop's claims team did finally get back to me and we reached a resolution with compensation in an amount that was in line with my expectations. I have updated the original review that follows to reflect this. Several of our belongings were damaged in the move and we were directed to file a claim online. After filing the claim, we only received automated responses, and no communication from an actual human or proper resolution until several weeks later, despite the automated messages telling us to expect responses within days. The loading crew that showed up on our move-out date was not uniformed and not all of them were there on time. They also did not present any paperwork, refused to scan the code Bellhop told us they would need, and complained about their own interactions with Bellhop when pressed about it. They did not pack our items securely or use adequate furniture pads either, which we believe resulted in some of the damage that occurred. They also partly tore off the mattress bag our Bellhop agent told us we would have to provide, and the mattress arrived filthy and damaged as well. The trucking service seemed fine, with a timely arrival at both loading and unloading locations. The unloading crew were also fine, at least in comparison to the loading crew. They did their best to tape the mattress cover back together before any further damage occurred, though they did add some minor damage to another piece of furniture by allowing part of it to fall off the truck deck when trying to handle too many pieces at once. The majority of our belongings did arrive on time and undamaged, so this wasn't an absolutely horrible experience, but Bellhop was not the cheapest of our options, and we chose them because we thought we were getting superior service for the added expense. I'm left wishing we had saved the money and gone with a cheaper competitor.

Bellhop was awful. Less than 12 hours before our move they TEXTED me and pushed back our moving time by 6 hours (texted me at about 9:30 pm and our move was set to start at 8:00 am). I was moving from an apartment to a condo, both of which had strict times for loading dock reservations (for our original time slot), which couldn’t be changed. I called Bellhop immediately after I received the text and reached customer support, however, they reported they couldn’t reach the operations employee who sent the text and to call back in the morning. When I called back in the morning, I again only reached customer support and not operations. We ended up having to rent a UHAUL and do it all ourselves. The only good thing is that bellhop reimbursed us our copayment and didn’t hold any penalty since it was a mess up on their end. Wouldn’t recommend, terrible experience. We were moving locally within Baltimore, MD for reference.

Such a great experience! The movers and truck were prompt and wrapped all our things super well! We had to move on a cubs game day on Addison and they did a great job! My best experience with bellhops so far!

We used the service to load our household move into a 16’ POD. Moving is an anxious time and the consistent communication throughout was very assuring. But the true magic came in the expertise and efficiency on loading day. The two man team was professional, experienced and efficient. It was amazing to see them in action. There is NO WAY we would have done as good no matter how many videos we watched. We canceled the smaller POD which saved us money and bonus they finished 45 min early.

The Bellhop team was professional, punctual, polite, hardworking, and most importantly, efficient. The truck was loaded in 2.5 hours and it was packed to the gills. My 91-year-old father was especially impressed. Thank you!

Move went fairly decently. Only moved 4 miles or so and had packed and staged everything. However, they must have dropped a few boxes and broke a lot of our kitchenware. I bought insurance, submitted a claim with pictures and value, but have not seen any response or results for that claim after 40 days. Called more than 3 times, used the messaging service online. Better to go with a more substantial/reputable company and pay more than to deal with the hassle. (There has been no progress or resolution as of 9/11 8:25am CT)

To start the customer service reps were informative and professional. The moving crew were very professional and friendly and extremely helpful. They worked in a timely manner. Ulysses, Vanesa and Gustavo were great! Highly recommend!

Pro: Good sales team, good moving team Con: Poor operations team, fully charged the moving cost BEFORE the move was completed and without notice. Agreed to provide remedy, but never got back. Not worth the premium price paid for coordination.
