Feb 18,2025Have used Blue Car Rental a couple of times now. Positive experience both times. We rented a Kia Sorento for 2 days and it was all as expected. Pre check in works well and we had no issues. Would continue to use again in the future.

The vehicles are in very good condition and perfectly match the description on the website. And finally the staff is always welcoming and available whatever the time of taking or returning the vehicle. In a word a rental agency to recommend

Feb 17,2025We went 4 times in Iceland, always with blue car. You can go there with peace of mind. Check-in is quick, the vehicles are very good, and returns are very easy no matter what the time. There is always someone on site if needed. 10 min walk from the airport Best choice

Feb 17,2025I have already rented several times from Blue Car Rental. The contact to the customer service is always helpful, friendly and fast. They have answered all my questions and we're really helpful with any issue we had. The booking process is easy and intuitive as is the pickup of the car. The Blue Car office is in easy walking distance from the airport (there is also a free shuttle bus). If you choose the contactless pickup, you simply enter your code in the key box and receive the car key. We were really lucky the last time, as our car was parked directly outside of the key pickup office. All cars I have rented from Blue Car were always clean and either practically new or used but in good shape. In winter you get studded tires which helps on icy roads. You get all the necessary information on how to drive in Iceland and what to watch out for in the different seasons i.e. speed limits, how to use the two lane roundabouts, how the weather can affect your travel plans or how to behave when animals are on or near the road. I have always appreciated this and also information on reliable weather forecasts and where to check street conditions. A really nice touch is the reward program for returning (and new!) customers. All in all I have always been happy with Blue Car, if there were smaller issues, they were always easy to fix and the customer service was very helpful, the cars are good and reliable and the price/performance ratio is also good.

Feb 17,2025Wir sind jetzt schon 21x in Island unterwegs und haben das 14x bei blue car Rental gebucht. Wir sind sehr zufrieden, aber wie immer buchen wir die Kategorie neues Modell Dacia Duster. Im letzten Jahr September und auch dieses Jahr im Februar wollte uns Blue Car Rental einen alten Duster geben. 120000 km und im September mit abgefahrenen Reifen. Im September waren wir 3 Wochen in Island unterwegs und wir hatten da sogar mit Schnee. Wir wären mit den alten Reifen nicht weit gekommen. Wie auch jetzt im Februar, waren wir nicht glücklich geworden. Deshalb dieses Mal nur 3 Sterne. Ansonsten klappt es immer sehr gut. Mal schauen was im Juni dieses Jahres auf uns zukommt.

Feb 17,2025It was not my first time with a car from Blue Car Rental and I enjoyed my trip and had a wonderful time in my favorite country. Everything went well and my plan is to rent a car in august 2025 again with Blue Car.

Dec 16,2024Very bad experience with this rental company. Don’t rent here! They first of all didn’t speak any English. When Christian dropped off the car he didn’t explain anything about a detuctible. They only said the car would have full insurance. They could have mentioned it at least. When we had problems with the car they messaged back quite rudely and there was 2 different contact persons who both said different things which was strange and kind of annoying. Not a fair and pleasant communication at all I would say.

Oct 04,2024We rented an electric car in Reykjavik. We were told that we are getting an upgrade from Opel Corsa to Kia EV. We have arranged the pickup in Reykjavik centre, and dropoff at the airport. 1. Neither the sales agent in Reykjavik, nor the agent at the Reykjavik airport had no clue about car charging. 2.They were cable chargers in the car that did not fit this car and it took us hours first time to figure out how to charge the car. The car could not have been charged super-fast, as the sales agent claimed. It took on average 1.5 hours to charge from 30% to 100% ( full charge). 3. Nobody informed us about an enormous penalty (about $180) you had to pay at the dropoff if the returned car is not fully charged. We ran out of time to charge the car, and the car could have not been fully charged, because it could not charge superfast. We tried to explain this to the Blue Car rental agent at the dropoff, but she did not understand and did not care, because she admitted that she does not drive an electric car. In summary, huge dissapointment. On the positive side, the car was good and reliable, but dissapointment in charging and the agents unfamiliarity with the car they rented dwarfed any good feelings. Thus, only 2 star review. I would not rent from this company again.

Sep 23,2024Excellent experience with the car. Check in with a dedicated box to pick up the key and quick and easy drop off. It would have been helpful having some more explanation on the use of 4wd block and how to recharge (Jeep plug in). No one knew such info. It is very important for a safe journey.
