Apr 16,2025Our car was great! Pick up and drop off was easy. We rented with Blue because we read great reviews & knew they equip their cars with studded tires for winter. We encountered rain, snow, and sleet on our drive around Iceland, and felt safe in our 4 wheel drive. Another thing we appreciated - the car had a plaque with emergency numbers on the dashboard by the passenger seat. We didn't need them, but felt better knowing all that was easily accessible.

Apr 16,2025The standard transmission Dacia was ready and clean when we arrived at the airport. I'm used to driving in Canadian winters so this was no issue. The standard transmission was top notch and the little car went everywhere. The gas mileage was thankfully really good because the price of gas in Iceland is very high. Thankfully we bought the extra insurance because we did take a rock to the windshield and the black sand beaches are rough on the paint. In 8 days we travelled around the entire country, plus we did the golden circle and toured Reykjavik for a few days. I wouldn't take the DACIA super off road, but it managed some really big ruts on the dirt roads without issue. Just take it slow. Make sure to get the WIFI from Blue car rental. It worked in 95% of the areas we travelled. (Pro tip - you can take it with you in a pocket into restaurants so there is no need to get a sim card unless you need to call someone with a phone) There was a small issue getting the keys but the staff was there to help. Make sure to look at an airport map before you get the car, their rental shop is not in the airport, it's outside and roughly a 5 minute walk.

Apr 16,2025We have used Blue Car on all of our five visits to Iceland (twice on one visit so 6 in total) and have had nothing but excellent customer service throughout. Contactless collection is a breeze and gets you of the road in no time ready to start you Icelandic adventure hassle free. All cars are provided in a clean and well maintained condition, (most don't come back clean)! with full backup in case of any issues, as long as you take out the full insurance against accidents and Icelandic weather! We always recommend Blue Car Rental on the several Icelandic tourist Facebook sites we are on and often get feedback thanking us for the recommendation. The collection point is just a free bus ride away or a 4 minute walk at Keflavik Airport. On our next visit to Iceland again Blue Car will be our go to provider again!

Apr 16,2025I was concerned about renting from a unfamiliar company and losing my premium status with large international companies. But I WILL ALWAYS RENT FROM BLUE CAR whenever I return. Unfortunately, they are not in the terminal. And the wake up call to windy iceland weather is uncomfortable in a dimly lit parking lot. No seats in the lobby. Folks ahead of us. But we completed all documents online and we wer checked out very fast. The vehicle was in excellent condition.Not one issue. Handled snow with studs. Got 24 hour coverage. THE BEST car rental in the whole world.

Apr 15,2025Everyone recommended Blue Car Rental, and now I understand why! The website was clean and very intuitive, it was very easy to make the reservation. All the terms are clarified and easy to understand. This transparency makes the whole renting process much better, as you don't have that weird feeling that you're gonna be scammed somehow. Getting the keys was really easy and quick. The car was nice and clean, it worked really well all the time. The returning process was also very simple. This is the best option in Iceland for sure. Absolutely recommended!

Apr 15,2025We appreciate their professionalism and communication. I would recommend renting from this company. Also you can not control the wind or how it may damage the car so you should pay the extra for wind damage insurance, we learned this the hard way.

Apr 15,2025Easy Pick Up and Drop Off Blue Car Rental was very clear on giving instructions on how to get the car. There are wide options on how to arrange the cars and given the time I arrive in Iceland, the alternative works well. The office is very close to the airport, only about 5 minutes walking distance. Overall, We do not have any issues in the process and the car was in very good condition so we were not worried on our way.

Apr 15,2025The pickup and drop-off process was super simple. However, the pickup office could be more clearly marked from the arrivals area. We had a Kia Sportage, which was nearly brand new with only around 3,000 km on the odometer. It never gave us any trouble and was a pleasure to drive. We saw plenty of other Blue Car renters throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend Blue Car to anyone looking to rent a car in Iceland.

Apr 15,2025Everything worked as it should. Pickup was very easy (key from a lock box) as was returning the car. The car that we rented was also excellent. I've had bad experiences with other rental companies, so it's a nice change to use one that has good service.

Apr 15,2025We rented the cheapest 4wd option, with zero liability. It was a used Dacia Duster in a quite good condition, and everything was just as it should be. We experienced no problem at all. Even the contactless key pickup and the in person drop off were easy and fast. So we are satisfied.

Apr 15,2025Best rental car company in Iceland! We had a problem with one of the tires during our trip, and they took care of it right away. They sent us to a nearby workshop where it was fixed super quickly, we didn’t even have to change our plans. Everyone was really helpful and kind the whole time. Honestly, amazing service. Highly recommend!
