Dec 15,2022A great selection of wonderful properties. Vine cottage was bijou, a little gem. Perfectly formed and equipped so generously. Warm and cosy it was the perfect place in terms of accommodation and location to catch up with an old friend. Loved it.

Dec 14,2022In common with another reviewer we found Bolthole Retreats insensitive and hurtful. We needed a place to stay for 5-6 weeks as we have to have repairs at home, and rented a cottage in The Cotswolds. We looked at all the details on the website and the floor plan and video and chose a cottage. Having paid in full, many thousands of pounds, we visited the property in advance to see what we would need to bring. The owners were delightful but the cottage far too small for a stay of 5 weeks. All we asked was could we transfer the money to another property. We didn't blame the company and knew it was our mistake. The reply from Bolthole Retreats was terse and frankly heartless. Once I returned home and was able to read the cancellation policy I realised that wasn't possible, but it takes no time at all to be pleasant and respectful. At a very stressful time in our lives their reply was not what we needed. I'm sure it was a personal reply but it felt like a particularly unpleasant bot.

Dec 13,2022Woodside Cottage, Mickleton Great house - all the mod cons plus more and we enjoyed the games room. Clear instructions for all appliances etc and Xmas tree up to make it even more festive - would recommend everything about this trip !

Dec 12,2022The cottage was lovely, exactly as described. The team had left the heating and lights on for our arrival which was a nice warm touch. The cottage had everything we needed for our weekend away. It was luxurious whilst maintaining its original character. The location was brilliant, local shops and eateries on the door step.

Dec 12,2022The company were great to deal with and made things incredibly easy for us, as a group of friends getting together for the weekend. We stayed in a truly beautiful property that was very comfortably furnished and was big enough for us all. Being able to bring the dogs was such a bonus and there were some stunning walks right on the doorstep. There was heavy snowfall on our last night which meant we weren’t able to leave as planned, the owners of the house were amazing and let us stay on until it was safe to drive. I will definitely be booking with bolthole retreats again for next year.

Dec 11,2022Money-making seems to be the only thing that concerns this rental agency. Staff are insensitive and inflexible. Three and a half weeks before our planned arrival, our baby was hospitalised rendering us unable to travel. A partial refund was offered, but remaining hundreds of pounds kept, adding insult to injury following the near death of our baby.

Dec 10,2022Fantastic few nights in a beautiful cottage. Beautifully decorated, very clean, and situated in a gorgeous little village. Loved the extra treats left including the welcome treats, filled wooden advent calendar and mini Christmas tree.

Dec 05,2022The property was beautiful well equipped, comfortable and homely and our pre Christmas weekend was enjoyed by my family. The only comment I would make is that because it was December it would have been nice if there had been a Christmas tree and then everything would have been perfect. We will certainly use Bolthole Retreats again.

Would highly recommend. The house was clean and very comfortable, and we had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Thank you!

Nov 27,2022Wonderful stay at Tachbrook in Charlbury. Perfect house with everything we needed for a comfortable stay in a beautiful part of the country, on the edge of The Cotswolds. Very appreciative of the discreet care taken by the property manager, made welcome and on hand when needed, but every detail was taken care of.
