Hi, just had the Breton Chicken, amazing, we loved it. Thank you Looking forward to trying other dishes Paul & Diane
I have only recently been made aware of the Charlie Bigham brand and have thoroughly enjoyed the Lasagne ( one of the best ever). The chicken and chorizo dish is also excellent. Looking forward to trying more dishes.
We have been buying your fish pie, cottage pie and lasagna for several weeks now. My partner has a delicate constitution and your food agrees with him. It also gives me a break from doing the cooking.
We've previously loved any of the Charlie Bigham meals we've had but the Steak & Ale pie we had last night was really disappointing. A bit dry and nothing like the quality we've come to expect. Such a shame as in the past these pies have been delicious.
I purchased the Chicken Madras when i was browsing Ocado i came across it on a meal deal. It was absolutley awesome. It was like i was sitting in a restaurant eating a Madras. Well done to your team for making such a lovely tasty madras, The sauce was devine. I also had the molten chocolate puddings which were ecxellent with ice cream added.
Got a Lasagna for1 and it was genuinely the most delicious lasagna I’ve ever had. Will for sure be trying some of the other meals.
Have eaten quite a range of Charlie Bigham's meals and have NEVER been disappointed. Such great flavours with great ingedients. Favourites are Chicken Tika Masala and Spanish Chicken with Roasted Potatoes, but honestly, every one a gem. Maybe slightly more expensive than some other brands, but worth every single penny. Take your choice, you just cannot go wrong. Thanks Charlie and your Team.
Lasagne for1. Excellent. Most shop bought ‘ready meals’ disappoint but this gem tastes every bit as good as the package promises. Ingredients are all top class
It’s been crazy week I work long hours & the wife working away I pop in my local Tesco to see what’s on offer I didn’t want to much food just a reasonable portion of food just for myself & I came across your brand of food I like to support business who actually cares about what goes in their food & the environment with your packaging which hands up I think it’s fantastic but let’s get back to what really matters & that’s the food I followed instructions & it’s the best meal I’ve had it’s like it was cooked fresh in front of me it was like a party in my month so many flavours honestly had to write this email cause I generally think it was well worth it I paid £5 for a little portion of chicken tikka masala and pilau rice spot on! I hope to hear back from you soon
The flavour is intense and rich, the spice and heat levels are appropriate for the dish. Ridiculously delicious. Can't wait for the next one. The meat quality was perfect, they really are worth the price.
I bought Charlie Bigham's lasagna. The presentation and price will mislead you to believe that you are buying a qualitative and healthy meal. The reality is that the product contains hazardous preservatives suc as Potassium Nitrate, Sodium Nitrate, Sodium Nitrite. No, thank you. Read the label, educate yourself and then decide.
The small fish pie £5, very tasty but only contained one lonely prawn would not buy again.
Madras curry and jalfrezi both garbage chicken is too soft and mushy.sauces on both curries to thick.nothing like a takeaway.£9.50 for either is bad.do yourselves a favour and order a proper one.a lot of hype, why I don't know.ive ate thousands of curries and trust me .stay away.
I have to say that everything I’ve tried in the Charlie Bingham range so far is lovely and superior to the supermarket own branded “extra special” products. Yes, these may be a little more expensive but it’s the quality that counts and CB meals are simply delicious.
Yesterday, I checked the Bighams bread and butter pudding ingredients which still contain mechanical oil by products which are toxic and poison to human. A thoughtful relative bought me one of your proper puds. Having read the ingredients I chose to bin it. While the majority of Bigham ingredients are fine, two are toxic chemicals and people should not consume them; rapeseed, safflower, sunflower and other oils. The only natural, safe oils are coconut and avocado yet they must be a pure source. In 1910, JD Rockefeller, decided that, rather than wasting mechanical oil byproducts, he would sell it to food manufacturers to include as an ingredient, hence sunflower, safflower rapeseed and other oils. They gave these mechanical oil byproducts names such as sunflower and safflower to entice consumers to buy them. On 16.08.23, I emailed Bighams (they failed to provide me with a reference) asking if they were unaware, or perhaps they were aware, yet you deliberately chose to include mechanical oil by-products in their bread and pudding recipe (and possibly other ‘delicious’ recipes?) Bighams marketing is good; they provide cardboard packaging and give them impression they are a considerate food manufacturer. For years, I have been 'awake' to the fact that numerous food manufacturers include extremely unhealthy and highly toxic ingredients in their highly processed 'food', for it serves two purposes: (i) food addiction (ii) a gradual build up of body toxins resulting in various diseases (iii) so consumers need medication and become addicted to it and ultimately death. While Bigham packaging appears 'friendly' and 'healthy', due to the two toxic ingredients, their 'proper pud' is laced with chemical toxic poison. I asked Bigham if, ‘For the sake of your consumers, would you consider an immediate cessation on including those two chemical and highly poisonous ingredients in future production? Would you introduce alternative, healthier ingredients?’ Surprisingly, I did receive a reply, yet it was usual patter … ‘All of our food comes from reputable suppliers that hold independent food safety certification and as part of this our oil suppliers monitor their levels of erucic acid (found within rapeseed/sunflower oils) to ensure that they operate within the regulated safety limits outlined by the government. In addition we only use relatively low quantities of rapeseed and sunflower oil across most our dishes, similar to how you would cook with oils at home so the risk is even lower as a consequence. With regards to your thoughts about the use of rapeseed oil and indeed other seed oils in our dishes, our chefs have experimented with hundreds of recipes and ingredients to fine tune them down to what we think the perfect recipes should be. That said, we are keen to take on feedback from our customers and I will certainly pass on your comments to Charlie and the chef teams. As expected, it was patter. Naturally, Bigham are going to do their utmost to put a positive spin and justify the use of TWO toxic oils (rapeseed and sunflower oils) as ingredients in a small portion. I suspect that the puddings are pre-cooked, then cooled. If so, the chemical structure of the already two toxic oils convert into trans fat which is another layer of toxicity. Whether your suppliers are bona fide or not, the fact that you include 'relatively low' toxic oils is a concern. You fail to define the 'relatively low' level of the two toxic oils. For the avoidance of doubt, a toxic oil, is a toxic oil, is a toxic oil. Over time, that toxic oil builds up within the body and has can lead and cause many illnesses, contribute to diseases and death. What a pity that Bigham foods are unable to produce a healthy pudding, without TWO toxic chemical oils. Whenever I make bread and butter pudding, never ever have I included any motoring by-product such as rapeseed or sunflower oils. If Bigham's were truly healthy, hearty and wholesome, neither would they include mechanical oil byproducts in their ‘delicious’ recipes. 23.07.24 - Update - six days' ago, bigham's replied, referring the matter to their 'marketing teams' ... yes, of course they'll do that. Marketing can then put further spin and justify why they include motoring byproducts in bread and butter pud (and probably other 'delicious' prepared meals). There is NO reason for motoring byproduct oils that include safflower, sunflower, rapeseed and other oils in food preparation. A motoring byproduct oil is bad, yet this business includes TWO in its bread and butter pud ... TWO!
I bought your Sticky Toffee Pudding and just ate it ... almost entirely ... in one sitting! Once started I couldn't put it down, so delicious, yummy and "onctueux" (French😉) with just the right toffee caramel sweetness : pudding ratio. Congratulations, your pudding really hit the spot!
Not long discovered this range and all I can say is so far every dish has been delicious! Cottage pie is my favourite yum! Beef bourguignon is delicious and the potatoes are so creamy. lasagna is so tasty, just tried the pies the chicken and mushroom yum! Oh and the puddings, they are amazing bread and butter and cherry Bakewell yum! I’m looking forward to trying the rest of the range, definitely on my weekly shopping list! 🥰😋😋 Keep doing what you’re doing! Clare C
Tried sample lasagne which tasted good but what put me off was it’s very “sloppy “ texture and sauce too runny -this will unfortunately stop me buying this!!
Long before they were advertised on TV I have been a massive fan, at least once a week buy a couple of your meals as a treat because they are so delicious. I can honestly say they are the best ready prepared meals I have ever had ( beating Waitrose and m & s hands down). They taste like restaurant quality, freshly cooked to order meals. So far we have tried Fish Pie, macaroni cheese, 4 cheese macaroni cheese, beef bourguignon, coq au vin and chicken madras ( even if that did make me sweat lol) . Tonight we had smoked haddock gratin, wonderful. All the dishes we have had so far have been amazing and a I look forward to trying more.
