We were with CPI Security years ago. The service was not bad in the beginning. When we had NO security cameras working at all - our office & warehouse went without any security for 5 days because they could not get anyone to service our business. We dealt with a burglary a year prior (with CPI cameras then) and the thieves were successful in stealing checks from office and forging them successfully, stealing a vehicle - and the cameras didn't work. We did not complain then even - just to the local representative at CPI. Then when we dealt with no security system for 5 days then they sent a man from 3 hours away (he drove from Atlanta to Knoxville) he STILL did not fix everything. The system continued to beep nonstop. Very annoying when people try to talk to customer on the phone and the loud beeping has been on for days upon days. I, one of the owners, called CPI and they sent over a docusign to release us from the contract after I complained and had to act terrible for hours and said CPI was in breach of contract for not providing us services we signed up for and they released us from contract with them thankfully. We switched to another security company instantly. They have been taking care of our system since then with ZERO issues. CPI has continued to send collection letters to us. I have invested 15 hours calling CPI to talk to various people with promises this was a mistake, they would fix the paper issue. I even called Michael Cope and spoke with him and he assured me that some lady at CPI would take care of this. NOTHING. I left this "lady" two voicemails, held for over 40 minutes one time - nothing. I run a business, am a mother - WHO HAS TIME FOR THIS incompetency?? While I am writing this review to warn everyone about CPI's scams and lies - I have missed 3 business phone calls bc I am holding on the phone to wait for someone to speak to me at CPI Security. Do NOT use this company. Now my credit is going to be potentially messed up all because they have some stupid messed up paper trail. This is not a company to be trusted. I will not pay a penny. We were out of contract and the time invested to get NOWHERE with this company is proof they run a scam. They do not provide services they make you sign a contract for. RUN from them. I have been a CPI customer for 20+ years and Tevin in technical support provided the best support and assistance I have ever had from a CPI representative today. Thank you so much for a job well done.

I contacted CPI for assistance with resetting my cameras. I was connected to Mr. Douglas. He was EXTREMELY helpful and patient with this process. I really appreciate him assisting me with this issue.

Tevin was great! Very smooth and explained things very well. He wasn’t just trying to fix just another problem and move on to the next one bc he helped ensure everything was set up right and also shared some functions I didn’t know where available. Great service for sure!

2/8/23 - Been with CPI for a very short period of time and have issues; my dogs are tripping all 3 backyard cameras, stray cat tripping front yard camera. Tech support tried resetting the rules, did not work. They dispatched a tech to analyze & possibly change out cameras. Tech showed up with an immediate confrontational attitude, told me he had 18 yrs experience & without any review, rudely let me know there was nothing wrong with the cameras & they would not be changed. I am only allotted 8k clips per mth & the only way to accomplish this is to cut off all cameras all day & only allow night protection...yup, NO daytime protection!!! Tech made a call to his supervisor (left my presence where we were talking in the study, traveled thru my foyer & into my living room to have his conversation...inappropriate!) who stated it was not my dogs tripping it, it was the trees, a pool cover, and my wind chimes! Really??? But when reviewing the saved clips it's footage of dog, dog, dog, dog, dog! While tech was on the phone with supervisor, I asked 4x for the supervisor to call me...I was 100% ignored. Tech then carried a large ladder thru my home (WHITE carpet in foyer, light grey carpet in living rm, light grey linoleum in dining room) instead of going thru the gate (visible from his truck) to enter the backyard. I told him to exit thru the gate (which is closed due to my dogs), do not bring ladder back into my home, so when he exited he left the gate wide open! I told him to get out of my home! Finally about 6 or 7 minutes later he left. I called customer service to complain & the supervisor the tech was speaking to while in my home called me. I told him to fix my geo area that he moved while on the phone with tech, he refused. He stated he did not move it but tech stated he moved it (prior to kicking tech out of my home, tech told me to fix it myself). Now half my backyard that was under protection prior to supervisor & tech messing with it, is no longer under protection. Never again! Appointment made with ADT. Update....someone from a resolution dept called, offered to fix TWO cameras, not all of them. REALLY??????? I can't cancel & RUN from CPI fast enough! BUYER BEWARE, BBB will be notified next.

Sold me a part that was carefully confirmed by rep and supervisor. Driver comes with the wrong part. Advises they no longer carry the part needed. I sent him away. Total waste of time. Then I got an email that looked like I was getting billed. Customerservice wanted to reschedule indicating that the part was in stock then after a very long hold confirms that they don’t carry that part anymore so, total waste of my time to phone calls installation appointment and my window for install. Now I have to go to Plan B. Update: 1) CPI should not have sold the part and reconfirmed it if they no longer offer it; 2) I received a $10 credit due to the waste of about an hour, in total, on this; because I asked; 3) yesterday I got a text message asking if I was ready to reschedule their appointment. Really?

I have just moved into a new apartment with a CPI system and it won’t stop beeping. We have made numerous attempts to get someone to help us stop it but it still beeps. My newborn baby can not sleep. The CPI system beeps every minute and is terrible. We need someone to come out and disconnect the system, but since we are not paying customers they do not care.

I had CPI Security in my home for 3.5 years and never had a problem until I sold my house in Myrtle Beach, SC. I was contacted multiple times by their representatives once my home was listed on the market. I advised them all of my intent to terminate my service once the home was sold and no one mentioned the 30-day termination policy. I contacted them via phone prior to closing and was told I could communicate by text and I did. I believed it was taken care of, until after closing, when I continued to receive alarm notifications. I contacted them again and was then told that I had to sign a termination agreement, so I did. The alarm notifications continued and I was then billed for a new month of monitoring at a location that I no longer owned or resided at. Their policy is clearly wrong when a homeowner sells their property as you continue to pay for a service that is no longer needed or provided. I contacted a local rep. the day the draft came out of my account and he said he would call me back and he didn't. They apparently dispatched someone out to disable the alarm panel, but wouldn't refund the charge. I would not recommend CPI Security at all.

Michael N was patient and kind and understanding of my CPI needs and took the time with me to understand CPI App and my CPI panel in my kitchen . I’m not computer savvy , he was such a big help to me!!! He is an asset to your company . !!!!

Carina was very knowledgeable, patient and helpful in providing troubleshooting support. She was also very thorough with her explanations and did not end the call until all of questions were answered. She does have one item she stated she would research further and get back with us on in a couple days which is handled by another department.

I have to update my review for CPI as my experience has has been disappointing lately. The system/contacts/thermostats have been giving us a lot of trouble, costing us an outrageous electricity bill and many anxiety attacks from faulty devices going off in the middle of the night. The Customer Service phone calls are not very friendly/helpful or understanding. They give a lot of pushback on any issues you present to them, and want to brush it off with a 'system check' saying everything reads fine on their end, when clearly we are having problems or I wouldn't be calling. One woman I spoke to today was telling me how different batteries will effect some of the equipment...but any of the batteries that are installed come directly from the Technician so are you saying they're not using the right stuff?? Each technician that comes out has something negative to say about the one before him. Either I was given misinformation on something, or that the last technician used a piece or a wire they shouldn't have or placed something improperly. I spent a lot of money updating my panel to a new model so that I could install CPI's smart themostats, and I've had nothing but trouble out of them since. HVAC company has checked my units twice over and the conclusion is the thermostats are either faulty or they were wired improperly. When I called to try and troubleshoot with the woman that told me they were fine, she argued that the HVAC employee was incompetent, and when I asked for a technician to come out she said "So what do you want me to put here for the technician just 'Thermostats' ????? What do you want them to do if they're working fine??" A previous chat agent told me they were making me an appointment but come time for the technician to arrive I find out that the agent never actually put the appointment in at all, they just *told* me that they did. This was when we had no active heat at all in the cold snap a month or so ago. I do not feel valued or taken care of with how much money I've spent in the last few months. And the salesman that set us up when we moved in, who was calling me every other day, hasn't spoke to me since we had the final install..I guess he got his cut. As of right now I would not recommend CPI Security, but I hope it starts to improve.
