Went into Southampton branch today asking about Boardman mtb,I was served by Ian who couldn’t have been more helpful,I was able to take bike out for test ride and decided to buy it,and even though it was about 3 o’clock Ian said he would have the bike ready before closing time.Went back at 4:30 he had just finished setting up bike, then before I left he also adjusted forks for me.All the guys working today were very friendly and I will definitely be using this branch again.

Rang gocycle for repair, said take into cycle republic, they will repair, phoned shop in Nottingham, said “bring it in Thursday we will have a look”, arrived Thursday, no sorry not booked in, but it’s ok, we will ring you in 2/3 hrs to confirm what is needed, no one rang, I rang later that day, sorry not looked at it yet, but def tomorrow morning and will ring, no one rang, I rang again, oh not had chance to look at it yet, but will def give you update later today, no one rang, I rang again later that day, no reply. I went to cycle republic this morning, put receipt on counter, said have come to collect gocycle, chap behind counter said, it’s not ready, I said exactly, I want the bike back, 2 persons behind the counter, working on other bikes were sniggering, like little children, my cycle was brought from storage, no explanation as to why it hadn’t been looked at, they don’t give a damn, customer care non existent, I don’t know if other stores have the same attitude, but keep clear of this one. 2 car journeys, 2 parking fees, petrol, wasted.

Staff are not helpful and neither kind. DPD was supposed to deliver in this store a parcel for me. When I got there to ask the staff was rude saying they know nothing. This is not my fault and they could be more understanding and sort this out with DPD if they are offering their shop as a place to get deliveries. I am just a customer trying to get a parcel which I already paid.

Great service. I cycled 5000km last year and used the Canary Wharf Cycle Republic for all my services, which were all completed within a day. I'm always impressed with the standard of service; the team is helpful, responsive and proactive when it comes to price matching.

Contacted them through their ‘contact’ form, regarding some tyres (online) wrongly advertised, go an automated (unrelated) reply with a few guessed scenarios, if this is their excuse for support, I know where I will be avoiding regarding purchases

As Cycle Republic are affiliated with Halfords I would have thought any free warranty repairs could be done at a local Halfords. Apparently not!! Therefore be aware if you order a bike online and don’t have a local CR store near you.

Made an order for a rear wheel and was told it should arrive in store after 3-4 days, but it never arrived. I called to see when it would be available and got the same answer, 3-4 days, but they'd call me when it arrives. I call again after a Week of not hearing anything to find the order had been cancelled. Just really poor customer service, not one person i talked to was any bit helpful and wasted my time. Would not recommend ordering parts or equipment from them.

Refused to serve me ! They refused to repair my bike and help me pay for some products in the shop. They told me that they have no time while running and I was lost in the shop, no one was able to help me out. Useless if you ask me.

On 2nd February 2019 I took my bike into Cycle Republic Leeds for a Gold Level service. When I took my bike in I was aware that the front brake needed cleaning because it squeaked (it's a hydraulic disc brake and without realising I shouldn't, I touched it, rubbing oil from my hands onto the disc, so causing it to squeak due to contamination) and I also reported that the drive chain system was jumpy. I thought that a Gold level service would remedy these issues and have the bike running smoothly. As soon as I started riding the bike after the initial service I knew something was wrong, because the brake still squeaked loudly. In light of this, I immediately phoned the bike shop and reported the issue. I was told that the bike could have a 'microleak' and so I booked the bike in for repair on 20th February to get everything double checked. At this time I was informed by the deputy store manager that the bike had a microleak to the front brake, which would cost £90 to fix because all the parts connected to the brake system would need to be replaced. Also, I was told that the gears had been realigned and so should now operate smoothly. Once again, I left the store and within (recorded on Strava) 6.45 miles and 40 minutes of cycling, I knew that there was still a problem because the gears weren't changing properly and there was a loud clicking sound coming from the bike. On 23rd February 2019 (after 1 hr 26 minutes of cycling, and a total of 15.59 miles) I submitted the bike to my local bike shop to get their mechanics to inspect it. After the bike had been duly inspected, I was told, to my utter surprise, that the bike did not have a microleak, and there was no sign of any fault in the brake lever, or any sign of oil on the caliper. Furthermore, the cassette was found to be very loose and wobbled significantly from side to side. The gear shifting failed to transition smoothly between 9th and 10th gear and the chain kept falling off of the jockey wheel. Lastly, I was told that the bearings in the wheel were worn, which was the cause of the clicking sound that I could hear. Remember, all of this is less than three weeks after having had a Gold level service performed on the bike, and a little more than an hours riding time after the shop's mechnics had supposedly realigned the gears for a second time.. I immediately phoned Cycle Republic to complain about the faults as identified by an independent bike shop and the fact that they had failed to identify and remedy them. The store manager told me point blank that it was a matter of opinion as to whether or not the brakes actually had a microleak. That it was one mechanics verdict against that of another. That the only way to be certain would be to strip the brake apart, which would take far longer than the three hours the company had had the bike for, and would cost me significantly more than the cost of a new brake set. This contrasts starkly with what the mechanics in my local bike shop told me, because they simply stated that they would be able to tell straight away whether or not the bike had a leak because there would be oil residue on the brake pads. This seems sensible enough, and the shop were certain of what they were saying. Previously, the deputy store manager at Cycle Republic had informed me that he had taken one look at the brake, decided that there was a microleak and that there would be no point in doing any work to the bike until I had replaced all constituent parts, which as aforesaid, would cost £90. This is on the back of a 'matter of subjection' as to whether there was actually a leak there to begin with. As stated, I know why the brake started to squeak in the first place, I made the mistake of touching it, thereby contaminating it with oil from my skin. I have had mechanics at an independent bike shop tell me that in their professional opinion there is no leak. And, Cycle Republic expected me to pay £90 in order to replace ALL parts to fix it, on what amounts to little more than a whim. I believe, as seems imminently more likely, that the brake had not been cleaned during the service as it should have been. Certainly, there was no change in its condition after the service and I told the store manager that I believed I was being lied to about the work that had been done on the bike. The fact that I was being lied to was to my own mind then confirmed by the store manager, who told me that he had spoken to the deputy manager who had relayed to him that he had not quoted me £90 for the parts to fix the brake, but rather had told me that it would cost £40. Not only do I distinctly remember the conversation, and remember being told that it would cost £90, but I have shopped online for the parts that I would need to purchase in order to do the repair, and the best price that I can get the parts for is £75. So basically, I am now being told that the full cost of repair, including the cost of parts and service, will cost me £35 less than the best online price that I can actually buy the parts for. I know that Halfords do price match, but such a suggestion is just silly. So much for getting the front brake repaired, but what about the repair of the drive chain mechanism? Well, I was told in no uncertain terms that Cycle Republic's 'get out of jail card' is that the bike worked when it left the shop and that the staff had ticked all of the relevant boxes on all the necessary paperwork to prove that it worked, so the store manager absolved himself of all responsibility for its current condition. Furthermore, I was told that despite the fact that a fault with the bearings ought to, at the very least, have been identified whilst the gears were being realigned, that the audible clicking sound ought to have been recognised, the mechanic had failed to pick up on this. But, as the manager explained, why should he? He wasn't inspecting the bearings. Personally, I expect that having had a Gold level service performed on my bike by qualified mechanics not three weeks ago, any fault to the bearings should have been picked up on and rectified, because the wheel bearings should have been stripped and inspected for wear. I would then expect, after this level of service, for all work to be guaranteed for a period of twelve months. After all, a Gold level service is akin to having a car MOT inspection and maintenance works carried out. Certainly, my local bike shop suggested that this should be the case. Not so says the store manager of Cycle Republic, 'after it passes through our shop door we absolve ourselves of all responsibility'. Heck, the bike had only done fifteen miles of gentle road riding before significant faults with the bike were identifed by trained mechanics. Is this really the Gold Standard of performance that customers can expect from Cycle Republic? True, I was told in the first instance to take my bike back into the shop for a third time, so that the mechanics can once again look at the bike and attempt to fix it. I refused to do this, believing that twice ought to be enough. Simply, I no longer trust the company with my bike. In the final analysis, I felt that the condition in which I received the bike back on the second occasion had rendered it dangerous to ride on the road, because when I set off from traffic lights the drive chain didn't engage properly, leaving me struggling to obtain momentum, staggering on the road, whilst traffic passed by. But, though I was angry when I spoke with him, the shop manager told me that he refused to deal with me further. After all of this, can I really be blamed for being agitated and angry? Certainly, I didn't swear nor shout at him, nor cause a scene in ANY way in the store. I actually filed my complaint over the phone directly to the store manager in as reasoned a state as I could respectfully manage given all that had unfolded. In response, the manager refused to deal with my complaint further and advised that I should take my complaint up with Customer Services. I certanly will, mark my words, and with Trading Standards too !!!

Had a really good customer service by one of the guys working in the shop. He fixed my puncture and show me how to do it. However, this is overpriced compare to other bike shops in the area (it was £15). Also he offered me a good price for some new tyres for my bike, but when I went the following week to ask for that offer, his manager was there and he said it wasn't possible to sell the tyres for that price, and he just told me the original price for them, which is more expensive again than in any other shop in the area. Not going back

Complete borstards, this company continually screws me over! Just a offspring off the Halford’s stores stocking bike hut merchandise-and has the same rip you off mentality of Halford’s too. Where do I begin, I took my bike into get serviced as I was a cycle courier, they charged me £180 for parts like crank arms, a new chain when I did not really need them, they also stole my break pad off and replaced them with cheap generic ones. A week later after regressing my rear hub the axle snapped. They could not even true a wheel properly after paying them£12 to do it. They also charged me an extra labour charge on a small item for no reason Are prone to not sending email receipt so you really should get a paper one too if you value your rights. The D lock frame attachments will break in the wind so steer clear of them. This is just a faceless corporation which is just interested in taking your money, if a bike breaks under warranty like it did with me they will say it was wear and tear or even misuse and not faulty goods and then charge you an arm and a leg to repair. The way you can tell this is by actually looking for bike parts you would need to maintain a safe working bike or even keep it Road legal like bells and reflectors which they do not stock or any bicycle parts really that wear. They will also steal parts off your bike, replace them with inferior ones charge you for them on the premise that they need replacing when they do not, they will charge you for parts you do not need and if a bike breaks they will charge you for these parts too. Absolutely criminal. In the end I had to take my bike to another store to get it serviced-they got probably around £1k off me in order to build a bike for themselves, all got was charged hundreds of pounds for nothing apart then my breaks tightened which had I known I could do myself. From my experience the bikes are not fit for any purpose and I am surprised you can get out of the store without one breaking and they are well over priced too, they want 4K for an electric bicycle when I am sure you could buy a brand new car for that. Do not expect customer services to be sympathetic, understating or even polite or have manners, some of them seem alright but my experience on the whole has been a very negative one. I vow never to do business here again. In reality Halford’s and cycle republic are lucky I am not taking them to court for what they have done, and lucky I do not have the time, energy Rescources or inclination to do so, I should at least be reporting them to trading standards but refuse to waste any more time with these scam artists.

I have been a customer with Cycle Republic for 2 years. I recently got my front wheel stolen and popped into one of my local Cycle Republics (New Oxford Street/Bloomsbury, London) for help. I had walked dragging the Gtech Sports from Goodge Street all the way (give it a try if you want to know what its like) to the shop at around 17:00pm on a Sunday afternoon. I was initially greeted well and I was happy to find out that I could get the wheel replaced immediately (if I could pay, as the lewd gentleman who served me was keen to point out). I agreed and forked out £92 on the spot for what was supposed to be a great combination of economic products including the slime tyre service, which I was coerced into purchasing if I wanted a £5 off the labour cost. I agreed. It quickly became apparent that John (I believe he is a supervisor) was not trying to help me as much as it seemed but was possibly just looking out for his KPIs or something. The rack on my bike and my brakes were also damaged and I asked if it was possible to fix them. No problems, the cunning John was back on the case and made another amazing offer of £5 to just remove the rack and fitting the brakes. Bare in mind if I did not pay for this, he was actually going to let me off in those conditions. The rack was preventing the back wheel from turning properly which I had already mentioned. Overall the service was really phoney and fake. Something that I would not expect considering how invested I have been in the store. To make it all worse I went downstairs to ride my bike yesterday for the first time since I got it fixed to find that the front wheel for all the fuss that was made about how great the slime tyre service would benefit me- had burst and there was a yellow gooey substance (I guess that would be the slime itself) all on the pavement. Not only has this ruined my weekend, almost costing me my Driving theory test which I was going to ride to but really damaging the trust I have in Cycle Republic as a whole. When I went back to complain about the service and sent an email detailing what had happened I did not receive a satisfactory response. Overall, its just another big company who does not really care about its customers. Stick to the independent bike stores I would say!

I agree with Andrea! The service is fantastic at Cycle Republic in Holborn where I bought my Voodoo Limba a while back. A review has been long overdue! The friendly approachable and knowledgeable staff: John, Ben, Oli, David, Alex, Georgio and Mischa are brilliant and quick to help out with any problem (not to mention John making my bike up when it was yet to be created with record breaking speed!) and answer your questions!! Thanks a lot guys you rock!! :) Hopefully not all the good folks will move on to other places!

Don't get me wrong, the customer experience at Cycle Republic in Holborn is above average, but what makes me go for servicing my bike time and time again is the people in there. One of my favourite members of staff, a trainee called Alex, a really helpful, very approachable and highly efficient guy, has recently move shops and I feel now that the shop has lost one of the main reasons for coming back when I have an issue on my three years old bike. I wonder why the best ones always go away...

Tried ordering from Cycle Republic for the first time. Item was added to my basket and went through all the usual address input and card details only to be told at the end the item was out of stock. Surely it's a basic function of online trade to list whether the item is in stock on the sale page - just wasting people's time otherwise. I'm glad the order didn't go through now having read the other reviews!

I have ordered my bicycle and your company couldnt care less about delivering it i ordered it on Saturday Dec 1st, was told it will be by Monday, I wanted to pick it up on Thursday and the bicycle wasnt there because your store or workshop did not order it, it has now been delivered earlier on Saturday and got a call from your store an hour before the store closes to come and pick it up because you think all of your customers live across the street, the shop is closed on Sundays and I work weekdays. Why having the bike in store and wait until you close to ask customers to pick it up? You demanded me to pay £100 deposit to order the bike and you yourself can't deliver it!!!! I have also send several emails and all have been ignored, This must be a typical British company that with zero f-ks given. THANK GOD for foreign companies who CARE. I will Brexit Cycle Republic.

Cycle republic Twickenham. Where do i start. I went in at the start of November with my bike as i had just moved to the area. I was told that it would be ready on the monday thats 4 days which i accepted. I went in and they said they needed to get the parts, I asked where, they said it was 1 15 min walk. This kind of sums up the shoddy service. It has been over a month now and i have had no phone call. They gave me a replacement bike which was too big for me. I have fallen off this bike at the weekend as the front tyre popped. Not a great experience and i sgill have had no call!

Purchase cycle from Nottingham, arranged to pick it up the following day, No pre delivery inspection, book not stamped - tyre pressures when checked were 18 and 14 psi respectively. Went online when I returned home only to find I had been overcharged. Rang customer services who said I needed to go back to the store to sort this out - a 50 mile round trip, I did receive my refund but with no apology - just the Manager blaming head office. My advice - go to Halfords - much better service.
