Great service! Served by Sean and he couldn’t have been more helpful
This afternoon I visited the Cycle Republic store (Fenchurch Street, London). Pedro was exceptional. Hand on heart the most knowledgeable and capable bike mechanic I have ever met. He went out of his way to help me identify the correct disc brake pads and brake rotor. He then installed the components for me. The workmanship which Pedro demonstrated builds customer loyalty so he deserves a massive pat on the back for that.
Purley Most friendly and extremely helpful staff I've ever encountered who really know their stuff when it comes to bikes.
I ordered a new cycling jacket and some other clothing from Cycle Republic, including a pair of cycling gloves. Only after placing my order was I informed that my items might arrive separately, which I wasn't too happy about, since I had booked time off work in order to receive my package, thinking that I would receive all my stuff together on the allotted delivery date. I waited for my delivery, and, by pure chance, I glanced out of the window on the morning it was due, to see a courier van move out of its parking space and set off down the road. I went down stairs from my second floor flat, only to find a calling card on the floor, with a hand written note explaining that a flat number was required and that, consequently, the package couldn't be delivered. Cycle republic hadn't included my flat number on my address. I called their customer services and they contacted the driver who, fortunately, agreed to make the delivery later in the day. However, when I opened my parcel I discovered that the jacket had not been included and that the gloves were not as described. They were thermal gloves, and I wanted gloves for year-round use. The gloves' thermal properties had not been mentioned in Cycle Republic's product description. As for the jacket, I requested a refund for it and bought it elsewhere. The refund was made in a timely fashion. I then returned the gloves using Cycle Republic's return label and dropped it off at one of their appointed collection points. However, after nearly two weeks I still had not been reimbursed, so I contacted customer services again. I was told that there was no record at all that I had made a return, and, unfortunately, I had misplaced the receipt I received after dropping off my parcel for return. I asked Cycle Republic if they could locate my gloves without it, but they said they couldn't, citing that there was no evidence at all on their records that a return had been made. It was at this point that I became aware, after reading the footnote on one of their emails, that Cycle Republic is actually a subsidiary of Halfords. Upon noticing this my heart sank. You see, some years ago I purchased a bike from Halfords, and their after sales service was absolutely awful and, to my mind, thoroughly underhand.* I wondered if my experience with Cycle Republic, thus far, was a consequence of a wider company policy, whereby the emphasis is placed very much on the extraction of money from customers and little else. With this thought in mind, it looked as though I had lost the best part of fifty pounds, but then I found my receipt. I tracked my parcel and found that it had in fact been delivered to Cycle Republic and signed for the day after I had returned it, nearly two weeks previously. Not only that, but the courier's tracking facility furnished the name of the staff member who had signed for the parcel and the precise time that the parcel had been returned. All of this, and customer services had told me there was no trace of evidence to say I had made a return! After my experience at Halfords, I promised myself never to shop there again, a measure which I will certainly apply to Cycle Republic. My advice to anyone thinking of shopping there would be not to, and, if you must, at the very least, retain any receipt and any correspondence you may have with them. It has been my aim here to provide any potential customer with a fair and accurate assessment of my experience with Cycle Republic. As alluded to earlier in this review, Cycle Republic refunded the money for my jacket in a timely fashion. Similarly, all of my emails (and there was a fair number of them) were replied to promptly enough. This is why I have awarded them two stars instead of just one. * The bike I purchased from Halford's Speke branch was very poorly built (it was one of their own) . It began to fall apart after several months of constant use (for example, both sets of brake blocks dropped off the bike while I was riding, fortunately, not at the same time). The bike came with a free service after six months use, a factor which had persuaded me to purchase the bike. Upon buying the bike, I asked how this would be arranged, and I was told to simply bring my bike back into the shop after the six month period had elapsed. This I did, only to be told that they were too busy and couldn't service it that day. I asked when I should bring it back again and was told to bring it in the following Friday, because the store would be quieter. I then asked if they could give me an assurance that it would be done that day if I did so. They told me that they couldn't. I then submitted a review to Halford's own website but they refused to publish it, citing that I had breached their rules concerning review content, namely that I had named one of their competitors. This was patently untrue, and I asked them to point out where in my review this breach had been perpetrated. I never heard from them again.
First bought some clothing. Only part of it arrived. After 1 week I had to call to discover they couldn't find the remaining ones in the warehouse so they didn't ship them. Nobody warned me nor it appeared on the website. Got a refund + 10% off next order. 2nd order: a bike that was supposed to be delivered in store in 2 days. After 2 days no updates. Several calls to the customer support, they always said they would have checked and come back to me, never happened. People in store couldn't do anything since they don't have access to the online order system. Finally I decided to cancel the order and get a refund, but they were still saying they need to verify with the supplier whether the item has been shipped or not, before canceling. Just ridiculous, never buy anything from them.
Best bike shop for repairs. They have great Price match to any UK online store. Had full gold service on my MTB. Supposedly £100 in itself - New sram cassette shimamo, b/bracket, shimamo chain, hydraulic brakes bled, new headset, new brake pads, new mech hanger. Complete strip down of bike / new parts fitted - Total only 193£ should have been £326 - Great guys at the repairs part, all bikers Unfortunately it's better & cheaper service than any LBS. Guess they can afford to be
I took my bike into the Edinburgh store as there was a slight grinding noise from the rear wheel and I wanted to book it in for a service. The assistant tested the bike, made a few tweaks and the bike rode perfectly. I offered to pay, but was told it was on the house. This isn't the first time I've had great service from them, I'll definitely go back and would recommend them to anyone.
I recently ordered some mudguards, from Cycle Republic on 04 October (to collect in-store). By 11 Oct I'd had no update on my order from them and my order still said "Processing". I phoned them up to chase and they told me "Your mudguards are in-store; sorry we couldn't update the order because we didn't know it had arrived. That's because the supplier (Zyro Fisher) delivered the order using their own courier instead of using ours". As excuses go, that is certainly one I've not heard before. And nothing on this parcel with the order # on apparently - so the store couldn't contact me, apparently, when it got there. EDIT: When I went to collect these, he did something online that generated a 'Your item is here' email, finally, to my inbox. He only had my name though (since customer services had rung the store, when I complained) but I'm still not sure how he managed to generate this (when i went to collect) if they couldn't manage that when the item got there. I meant to ask, when the guards had been fitted but then I forgot. This is the same co. that took 16 mins to confirm my payment when I ordered (!), that bounced my emails to customer service ("server problems") and that had me ringing them 3 times because 2 staff who said they would ring me back just didn't. On the second call the woman there (Sophie) starts talking about my "bike order" when I haven't even ordered a bike. You work in customer service and you can't even talk about the right order?! Just incompetent. When I accused Cycle Republic of having no grip on the situation at all, if this is happening with their suppliers, chap on the third call (Paul) replies with "But all online retailers have problems". That's just not an acceptable answer. Lesson learned. Will not order from them again. Shame really cos the staff in my local store are actually great. I've emailed Zyro Fisher aswell to ask for their side of the story - and an apology. I've had no reply.
I went into the Edinburgh branch on 10/10/2018 at 5 pm. I spent 10 to 15 minutes looking at the folding bikes with nobody approaching me. I then looked at the electric bikes but again nobody approached me. I walked out. Cannot rate the service as I got none!!
Don't normally write reviews but my experience buying from Cycle Republic was poor. Reading through the reviews I think others have experienced similar problems so wanted to add to this. I ordered a set of wheels from their website that were showing as being in stock, waited a few days for a confirmation email etc but nothing from CR. I did get an email the day after I placed my order from the courier DPD saying my item was on its way, so I thought great they will be with me soon. Anyway 5 days later and after a lot of chasing the Courier DPD I was told by them that they never received the item from CR to deliver on to me. So I called CR who told me that there had been a 'picking' problem in the warehouse and they would come back to me asap after speaking to the warehouse guys to confirm what the problem was. Another day later I hadn't heard back so I called again, this time an advisor who was very polite and helpful to be fair told me that the wheels were in fact not in stock and so I cancelled my order. I was told that the DPD email saying my item was on its way was automatically generated once I had placed my order. And reading through the reviews on here and from my experience it would seem that CR have a problem somewhere within their online stock checking / warehouse dispatch process. These things do happen and not the end of the world, however I needed them for a charity event at the weekend and this has left me having to make alternative arrangements at the last minute which hasn't been ideal. I would not order from CR again due to this, there are plenty of other outlets online that do this much better and have far better customer service when things do go wrong (although as already mentioned the last lady I spoke to was helpful and apologised for the mistake).
CANARY WHARF STORE WORST EXPERIENCE IMAGINABLE AND DAN MUST BE THE WORST MANAGER YOU COULD POSSIBLE HIRE DO NOT USE IF YOU LOVE YOUR BIKE OR YOUR SANITY. Put my bike in for their silver service and a rear wheel rebuild. Put in 3 weeks prior to me flying abroad, came back from a relaxing holiday to the expectation of a completely fixed bike? Well no they had not even started the job, I complained to their customer service team hoping this would help? NO they did very little to help. I asked why they found it so difficult to fix a simple wheel and if they didn’t have anyone to do the job why they couldn’t outsource the wheel to another store and give the job to someone competent to do the repair. The Canary Wharf store listened to my advise and sent the bike to Twickenham because they clearly struggled to fix my wheel claiming apparently they only have 1 experianced person who can fix bikes lol as if. Who supprise supprise has been sick for a while and that’s why my job was not done. This I thought was the beginning of the end as someone else was going to fix my bike. I must add, up to this point I was given a lot of false promises in regards to completion dates, false promises in regards parts being ordered and deliveries having arrived. All LIES. I was also informed by DAN that as a result of my bike being in store for so long which is there fault my bike sustained damage. This was not what I was expecting from CYCLE REPUBLICS Flag ship store, I was in need of my bike as I use it regularly for work so decided to wait in hope Twickenham would solve my problem. Fast forwards 3 more weeks a missed deadline and a lot more stress. I eventually asked for the return of my bike. The manager informed me the wheel was COMPLETE and that it had been sent back to Canary Wharf GREAT FINALLY. 1 day, 2 days starting to think where is my bike day 3 I call the store hello is my bike there oh yeah it is, was the response I recieved. I basically run to the store only to discover a fully damaged bike, sheared cables leading to my electric motor, broken mud guards, grind marks on my frame which looked deliberate and a bloody wheel which was still unfinished What The Fook? I called customer service sent the pictures only to be told DAN THE Manager said I told them my bike was bought in due to a crash 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 and because of this it’s my fault, they offered me £50 gift card. Well I’m now fuming, I don’t want £50 I want an apology and someone in authority to deal with my complaint? So I decided to post my complaint on Twitter and every social media outlet I could think of. I received a message from Lynne Order manager who told me that DAN Lied and I was indeed telling the truth about my bike. Well of course I was, she asked what I would like, I said please just get someone to fix my bike. Lynne informed me that Cycle rebublic BLOOMSBURY STORE was the best store they have in London, who has the best manager DAVID. She told me to take my bike to DAVID and he would be able to fix my bike COMPLEMENTARY for all the troubles I have had to deal with and for the damage caused to my bike. DAVID at the BLOOMSBURY STORE WAS TRUE TO HIS WORD AND FIXED MY BIKE TO A HIGH STANDARD. Thank You DAVID I apologise I had to leave when I collected my bike from you but I was not waiting around for hrs to finalise an agreement made to me prior to me arriving at your store. I wish I used your store form the off. IF you are thinking of using CYCLE REPUBLIC AND FROM MY EXPERIENCE I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DONT, but if you do then the only store I would recommend would be the BLOOMSBURY STORE UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF DAVID AND HIS TEAM, as you are sure to get someone with extensive knowledge and a high level of customer service which is expected in today’s market Update from the last time I collected my bike from Dodgy Dave, today is 4th November To confirm David’s attempt to put spokes on a frame have failed. The spokes have come loose and subsequently the wheel has now failed and broke. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY PERIOD YOU WILL REGRET IT.
Outstanding Service! I went in to get an old bike repaired before taking it to university, it was the fourth place I had to try as everywhere else couldn't fit me in for a week and I needed it for Saturday (cutting it fine I know) but they completely understood and where happy to help and at a very competitive price. I couldn't recommend highly enough, thank you!
I'm beginning to wish I read through the reviews of this company. They were quick enough to take my money, not so quick on delivering my bike. Its went past their proposed delivery date. No updates at all. I've sent an email, still waiting on a reply. It's just not good enough these days. Very disappointed with the whole experience. Save your time and money, and shop elsewhere. I only wanted buy a new bike to cycle, instead, I've ended up chasing after one. Please sort it out. Update: Got speaking to an adviser. The money was taken from my account, but the order wasn't processed correctly on their side, so they had to cancel the whole thing. They gave me a 10% off discount as an apology. I went to reorder the same bike this morning, and they've put the prices way up, so the 10% discount is now worthless. Total shambles of a company. Thanks a bunch...
Very poor online service. Had to order the item twice: first time it didn't arrive; second time, I was told it was out of stock. Both times I received no communication and after waiting past delivery date, had to call to find out what was happening.
Bought a Boardman Hybrid on 9th Sept. Wanted some extras which the staff agreed to fit after I decideds to buy following a test ride. Excellent service from the team and judging by the frequency of various delivery riders coming in for running repairs this is a well respected bike shop.
Popped into the Bloomsbury store with a stuborn hub on my 8 year olds mini bmx. David spent time and skill getting the thing undone. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were very knowledgable. Will definately be back formy road bike service. Happy 8 year old = happy dad!!!
Quite simply disorganised, inefficient and a complete waste of my time at the Canary Wharf branch. I booked my bike in for a one-day service a week in advance and even told them there was a bottom bracket issue then. When I went to collect the bike in the evening, the guy at the counter had no paperwork to verify if any work had been done on the bike. It quickly became apparent that nothing had been done - the chain hadn't even been cleaned. Shoddy and I won't be going back.
Really poor customer service experience at the Warren Street, London store. Arrogant staff (the manager!) ignoring and being rude to staff. Wearing his iphone headphones in his ears throughout conversations, no wonder he couldn't hear and walked away without responding to customers. Really negative experience.
Bought 2 Haibike sduro's from Leeds Store. Excellent value and service in getting the bikes and accessories fitted and ready for delivery within 3 days from order. I would have no reservations about recommending this store.

Nov 19,2018Cycle Republic Twickenham I cannot recommend them as they are pathologically unable to serve the 51% of the population that is female. Visited yesterday & enquired about different models. Mid sentence assistant walked off to serve a male customer who had just come in. So assistant 1 called assistant 2 to assist me but then assistant 2 helped assistant 1 in serving the male customer. How many men does it take to assist a male customer=2 How many men does it take to assist a female customer =0 And that is exactly the Commission you guys will earn from me. I was looking to buy a £2-2.5k bike. Do you guys realise that under the Equalities Act men & women have equal access to goods & services? Epic fail, you chumps!
