Tax is complicated; the cycle to work scheme is not. You choose a bike, hire it for an agreed length of time, then snap it up for a fraction of its original value. It's like a year-round sale, with interest free credit available in over 2,000 retailers nationwide.

Only reason I did not give 5 stars was when my package was delivered it was left in the wheelie bin outside & no card was posted through informing me. I did get a text message telling me it had been delivered but was not aware it was left in the bin. Other than this very happy with everything.

Over the top charges for commission. Corporation greed at the expense of killing off local bike shops. 10% shop commission on top of a 7% buyers commission is absolute greed. Now, cue the Cycle Schemes standard response to say "End of Hire fees are set by HMRC and how they are applied to our schemes is decided in partnership with Employers, not solely Cyclescheme Ltd. "...... Blah blah blah. Well here's a though.... 1) reduce your fees to 5% 2) update your end of term agreement to 7 years to buy the bike at a nominal amount rather than 7%. I think you'll find the above is also"set by HMRC". Trying to say this is not solely Cyclescheme is rubbish and lies. They know exactly how to set lower fees within HMRC laws, but they won't because they are a massive company where only one thing comes first..... That is COMPANY PROFITS! My suggestion is if your company is with this greedy company, move to a lower commission non profit company instead that is interested in getting people on their bikes rather than filling the linings of their multi million £ shareholders with more money. Greed!

It’s quite a scam that you don’t give the bike shops the full amount of money. 1-3% transaction fee maybe permissible, but 10%, and that applies only to the retailer… whereas the main profit margin is generated from the producer of the bike. This doesn’t make sense at all. For what should be a simple process, it’s incredibly complicated.

A really excellent scheme. Easy to use. Just need to check you have fully read how it works before submitting an apllication.

Great experience and easy to apply would recommend to any company or individual considering the cycletowork scheme. Advised retailers were informative and intuitive on my bespoke personal requirements.

I cannot stress to people how important it is to not use the cyclescheme. They are basically legally scamming you. I bought a bike and the company I bought it from sent me a faulty one. It took 2 months to send the bike back (this part is not actually the cyclescheme's fault), but now the cyclescheme are taking many many weeks to initiate the refund back to my employer and no sign of it yet. They don't allow you to buy bikes that are discounted, so you end up paying a price that is far too high to begin with, meaning these "tax savings" is basically just extra money that you would never have had to pay from the start. I've fortunately not had to experience the end term due to my return, but in the fine print they apparently add that you don't own the bike for YEARS after paying off the installments, and you actually have to pay them extra for essentially no reason at the end. It seems some snarky customer service rep will respond to me with a bunch of justifications, as with other comments, but I think it's just factual at this stage that: 1) The tax savings are on money that most bike sales will reduce, and you can't buy any discounted bikes. 2) There is a fineprint that 90% of people won't read (AND YOU RELY ON THIS) that states ownership is not even yours. 3) If something goes wrong, you must wait months for any real action (my experience). Do not use them.

Very straight forward process, gives access to desirable bikes at reduced costs which encourage folks to want to ride and ultimately become more healthy. What's not to like!
