It was only after reading Andrew Beattie’s review of a few days ago that we decided to post this. Our experience was remarkably similar. If all we achieve is helping one person avoid such an experience then it is worth doing Given the history of the people behind this business and the continued, much criticised, use of dubious sales techniques we decided to try with eyes wide open and ready for failure. And did ESE deliver on that promise in spades. If it wasn’t for the superb subcontractors delivering above and beyond this project would never have been completed. That said the system is in and appears to be working to specification. Figures crossed. It was only after making the final payment that ESE decided to sink to lows beyond anyone’s expectations. Following a long conversation when the customer services representative called to confirm that we had had a good experience we sent the following email (names and numbers redacted for protection): “As I said on the phone the whole experience since first coming into contact with your company has been, at best, seriously unpleasant and, at worst, hugely intimidating. We have concluded that as this behaviour is so widespread it must be company policy to treat customers with such disdain. If this is not the case and you wish to pursue the reasons why we have concluded this then of course we are happy to assist. The worst incident was a call from your accounts department at 14:29 on Wednesday. I requested this call via SXXX HXXXX as the only person I have found that seems to be able to make things happen. The background to the need for this call was a series of emails from SXXXXXXXXX KXXXX. The contract I signed stated that the total cost was £XX,710. To cover this you requested 3 payments. £1,000 already paid, an interim payment of £X,670 which I paid 2 weeks prior to the scheduled completion of the works and a final payment of £X,500 on completion. As the installation took two weeks we suggested a number of areas which you might like to consider (deferral of the final payment, recompense and compensation). The reply was swift stating that company policy was not to consider such matters so I reluctantly paid the final instalment. The next email told me that you had discovered an admin error entirely of your own making and that it was our responsibility to pay additional money so that you could correct your error. Hence I requested the call. Initially we were told that it was our responsibility to pay to correct your error. We were then threatened that you would withhold the completion documentation if we did not pay. We disputed this and were told that if we did not pay that afternoon we would be sent a letter from your legal team referring the matter to your solicitors hence costing considerably more than the £540 you were requesting in order for us to be sent the completion documentation. We paid the money to secure the documentation which we have now received complete with multiple “admin” errors which we dare not attempt to correct for fear of further intimidation. We don’t expect to hear from you again but at least our final call with your company was cordial and without incident for which we thank you. Hope you have a lovely weekend, we intend to.

Engineers arrived on time to install an additional solar battery. Installation was swift, and work area left clean and tidy. Engineers also explained what they had done and how it would show on the monitoring app. All working well

There was some confusion at first with what they did as part of the green homes scheme, but in the end they apologised for this and gave a lot of their time to show me some incentives to use their services in the end. I think it is important to let a company resolve things first before leaving a bad review :)

Everybody in ESE offices were very helpful - installation was completed over two days - and neither set of installers were aware that a trench needed to be dug across back garden - that said, the installers came up with best solution and ran conduit along garden wall to garage. Made it very neat and tidy - both the outside cabling and the batteries and storage on garage wall. Everybody very polite and worked hard. Waiting now for the scaffolding to be taken away and for the paperwork to come through in order for us to change tariff. Pleased with the results so far.

I have used this company for a few years now, I do have the insurance plan and they replaced my invertor, I started off with just one battery and now i have 3 of them, I would highly recommend there products and service.

Most things went smoothly. Where a problem occurred they quickly cleared it up. Overall they were extremely good, quick and courteous. We are very pleased with the result.
