Ashley, a true gentleman came out and carried out the installation for me. Absolute gem of an engineer and an asset to Grain!
It was refreshing to speak with someone who is not based on the other side of the planet, and given that the installation was carried out over the New year period, I am very impressed with the service. I had a bit of an issue connecting my printer, but that was quickly resolved over the phone with the technical team.
Internet installation
I’ve had Grain Broadband for a few months now. It recently developed a fault over the Xmas period. I contacted Grain who did some troubleshooting and advised within 48 hours an engineer is needed. It was booked for 2nd Jan 2024 for a morning slot. Sadly in the morning of the appointment, my mum wasn’t well and was taken away to hospital in an ambulance with me accompanying her. Before I left, I called Grain to explain and was told it may need to be rearranged which I was fine with, towards ending the call I had a text from the engineer who said he was on the way. I text back and asked if he would have time to sort out in the evening PM slot as I could then get someone to stay with my mum. He said he would let me know closer to the time otherwise let the office know. Later that day I messaged him to see if it was possible and he messaged back promptly stating he was texting me before he got my text and that he would be around. Given the stressful time I was so grateful for this. He did a great job and got me back online. This isn’t just good customer service. This is just exceptional. He went out his way and showed empathy to the situation and got us sorted. I’m really happy with Grain and forever grateful! The technician had come from Bristol to Birmingham. If I remembered his name I’d put this down. Hope this feedback is provided !
From initial survey to installation was 3 days. The two who installed the cables etc were very friendly & got on with the job which was done to a high standard. The broadband speed is just what we wanted. Very happy indeed & would strongly recommend to anyone 😁

The process was smooth..
Since having Grain installed I have great wifi connection. Can get a signal when outside in garden , which i couldn't get with my old Internet provider. Have had no problems. Installation was smooth . Price is great . Happy customer
Grain want to charge £40 for 6 hours' use during the cooling off period as a cancellation fee. Their text sign up process makes no reference to the terms and conditions which in any case do not mention the figure of £40. There was no connection fee as the equipment was pre-installed.

You give me a time nine till one, but the engineer came at 8:45 so I was a bit not happy with that

Worst Internet ever. Connection keeps dropping out, even wired connections don't stay connected. Whenever I complain I'm just told to take pictures of the Internet not working. Neighbours have the same issue but Gain say they can't see anything wrong. Even apps like Netflix and Disney Plus buffer.
Great service no drop in internet at all would highly recommend grain

Jan 07,2025Was excited to join but since they installed it, internet keeps disconnecting for no reason and it would not connect until the next day and same thing all over again only 5-7 hours of internet a day with poor service and not worth paying +£30 every month. Currently using my mobile data because the internet would not connect. Switching companies now for a better one with more than a year still in contract i would prefere paying the £360 penalty fee than paying +£30 every month in top of my data which i need to use while being in home with supposed internet connection worst company ever.
