After a long time working in disability support, Hireup restored my faith in an industry that was becoming more about profit driven goals at the expense of those new care about. The amazing team at Hireup truly care about what they are doing to return choice and control back to people with disability and I am so proud to be a support worker for this organisation
User Friendly and a great way to employ support workers.
I have found the service great! I am a participant of NDIS & self-manage. I have found Hireup pretty straightforward & simple to use, & the 2 female support workers I have are amazing. I really look forward to them coming, & found that within the first week of having a SW, it had changed my life! The only criticism I would have is that the search for SW's is restricted to their first name (which when it is a common name makes it a bit hard) & the area nearest your home options are both too restrictive. I feel it would be great to have more options to search like female or male, & most especially...your needs, such as requiring someone who is able to do self-care, or lawns or gardens etc. One problem I had was I could not find how to pay Hireup on the first week and could not find this information on the website or on YouTube or by Google search. Because I hadn't noticed the 'pay now' tab that first time, I found this a bit nerve-wracking in my search as I could not find any instruction on this. I don't think there was any email making this now simple task easy to do that first time. According to my knowledge there is no training to use the website directly from Hireup done through emails, nor have I discovered any HELP option. I have wondered if there was any 'review' option that I haven't yet discovered where clients can review their Support Worker to enable them to get more work, which in turn helps clients searching through a myriad of names & faces searching for someone who can tend to their needs. I would love a response from Hireup to my concerns, especially if these suggestions are within the site & I just haven't yet discovered them. But overall I have to say it's a great & efficient company with an easy to manage website, although it could be more helpful!
Great experience, excellent communication and help from Hireup.
I was able to find a support worker who comes regularly to help me with routine tasks around my place, and who can also go for a walk when the weather is ok. Her companionship has given me the energy I have needed to improve my ability to stay on my routine and feel good about what I achieve :-) !
