Having limped home yesterday with a burned-out out clutch in a Peugeot 2008 bought from Howard's Taunton, I tried to phone them this morning to arrange repairs. After being on hold for 50 minutes I gave up, phoned again and left a message to give full details, the promised call back still hasn't happened and now the garage has closed for the day. Howard's have failed totally and don't justify the one star I had to give.
There was a recall fault on my car which was described on the Hyundai site as taking about 40 minutes to rectify. As this was a short time, I waited but it was 3 hours before the car was ready. There was no apology either.
Stay away if your Honda is over 5years old.. we went with main dealer as thought easier and they would be helpful. They knew what car we had (Honda CRZ) and the year, But did not tell us if it is an older car it is likely they will not mend it if Honda do not make the part anymore. They can buy non Honda part and mend it but refuse to do so even if you accept the liability. They will not fit non Honda. we spent £500 they diagnosed the problem only to be told Honda do not make the part but you can buy a non Honda part but we will not fit it. We told them we will accept responsibility if does not work but No, Will not fit it. We took it 20miles to nearest main dealer, we could of gone 2 miles to local garage and pay half as much.. £150 hour from Howards Honda Taunton. We are now stuck with a underivable car and a bill for £500. I have no idea how to move my car, where to take it, how to get it there, apparently I just have to get it moved and take it somewhere else to get fixed as main dealer Honda had no interest in fixing older Honda cars. I was looking at trading in for new Honda but will def stay well away from anything Honda if they have no time for there customers and leave them out of pocket and stranded.

The whole experience, from start to finish, was very relaxed. Jack and Damon were both very polite and knowledgeable. I didn't feel pressured and all my questions were answered.

We purchased a usedn Peugeot 308 GT Line with a Puretech 1200 engine from Howards of Yeovil, never again. At 55,000 miles it started using oil, at 57,000 we had to replace the wet belt as it was breaking up, it started misfiring so had to replace the coil packs. The engine now uses 1ltr of oil per week. I have spoken to Howards who gave me a number for Peugeot, they would not help, I talked with Yeovil at least three times but there policy is not to help even though they know there is a problem with the puretech engine, they say it is not their responsibility as they do not produce the faulty cars. I just know I will never buy a car from Howards or Peugeot ever again, I have also told all my work colleagues and as many other people as I can, I am a bit anal like that and I will probably still be telling people of our Howards experience for years to come. Do yourself a favour go elsewhere.
Recently brought a car from howards and the customer service was the best iv experienced . I always had really bad experiences with garages so was very hesitate in choosing which one to go with but they have shown me some are trustworthy. Iv also never brought a car online , this was a first for me but the reinsurance and continued contact made it a breeze , the staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and answer any questions simply. So thank you john from sales and the delivery man so much 😁
Bought two cars from them. One 6 years ago 1 today. I have zero issues with them. Helpful, non pushy. Will do what they can to help. Would recommend asking for Greg.

We bought a used Toyota Aygo from Howard’s. It is an excellent car in fantastic condition.Tom Bieda was extremely helpful and very professional.
Fantastic greeting on arrival into show room. Sales person Charlie was great at explaining everything financial wise, and gave me a couple of options as to cars available. Definitely will recommend Howards Motor Group to others.
We bought a car, MG, from Howards Peugeot Taunton few months ago. We took it on finance (PCP). On Day 2 of having the car, I noticed a big oil leak. Contacted Howards, car brought to the them, only to find out (after a few days) that their mechanics WIPED everything under and could not see the leak and advised me to drive it for 500 miles and then update them! I couldn't believe that they still denied any leakage, when I looked under the car and saw a new paddle of the oil underneath. They still insisted the car was fine. As we are 2 women, they treated us like stupid. Only when I called my male colleague, a car mechanic, who came immediately to Howards, the dealer agreed to check the car again! Absolutely awful attitude towards women, as if we can be played as they like. I used a courtesy car for nearly a month as that's how long it took to repair the leak... Month later, another problem started, car lost the power and engine light management went on. We contacted Howards, just to be told that they no longer sell MG's so they won't help us, we were told to contact main dealership. Both MG's Exeter and WSM refused to help us as they didn't have any appointments for several weeks/months! Despite the car has still another 4 years of warranty! No one, especially Howards Taunton were interested in helping us and till now they even DENY we contacted them at that time. I had to call AA, which temporary fixed the problem, as it came back a week later, diagnosed by an independent mechanic. I then called Howards again, spoke to manager and explained the car issues, and that I don't want to keep the car any more as it proved not to be fit for purpose, the warranty means nothing, and I requested them taking the car back. They agreed to take and sell it on auction and close the finance but... REFUSED TO REFUND our deposit (several thousand ££££). I had no choice to make a formal complaint to the financial company, STELLANTIS, which at first seemed to be willing to help. They agreed we have the right to rejection of the car, due to multiple issues (broken engine, oil leak which came back, loss of power and few others). Despite waiting for 7 weeks, both Howards and Stellantis continue to deny my customer rights to rejection of the car and full refund, I had to TAKE THEM to COURT. If you want to be treated with respect as a customer, DO NOT BUY a car from Howards Taunton. Even CEO of the company, after receiving 2 letters from us, refused to do the right thing. I am now left without my only transport to work and continue paying for the undriveable car...
Charlie at Wsm was amazing, very helpful and knowledgeable. He explored all options regarding my daughters needs with model and finance options. He was head and shoulders above the staff at other Hyundai dealerships that we had previously visited.I would highly recommend this branch.
I spent many years in the motor trade dealing with luxury and super cars . We had to treat customers with the utmost respect . I came across this experience at Howards used car center Taunton when dealing with Andy Danielle and the delivery driver . The Honda Civic Tourer I purchased was present in an excellent way .
A hive of profiteers, just like the financial company they associate with (Stellantis). False politeness and offer to help. When issues arise, everything is done purposely to the detriment of the client.
