Like others here, I can only speak negatively about my experience. I have waited for a claim to be settled for over a month and it's impossible to get a response from the claims department. I have been loyal for over 3 years now - really not a good way to keep customers. The vets are chasing me and only given me 14 days to settle 4k, money I don't have otherwise. Why is it taking so long?

Like many of you, I have been waiting since June for a claim to be paid. Their tactics is to keep asking the same questions over and over again like a broken record. They now have 3 weeks until complaint to Financial Conduct Authority and a civil court claim. The latter will be submitted to their CEO Mr Adrian Furness. The claim accrues 8% interest claimed by the court. I advise you all to do the same. Its a simple process, easily achieved.

Easy to understand, easy to navigate the site. Great value for the amount of things covered. I'm happy and so is Smudge

Was with insureyourpaws with previous dog. Good to deal with and paid claim with no quibbling. On line registration was easy.

Tried to renew over the phone after the company lapsed my policy in error. After being kept on hold for over 10 minutes I went though a really frustrating serious of questions with a dim witted advisor. The whole process took ages (even though all my details were already on their database!!) Then after 22 minutes the line dropped! I just did not have the energy of inclination to call back after such a painful (anti-sales) experience. Goodness know how this outfit will deal with a claim, when they can't even make a sale!

Our claim was received on the 2nd August, phoned them today to find out the progress. It hasn't been looked at yet! I have been told it'll be a few more weeks. The lady I spoke to told me they have employed more staff. Looking at the reviews this sort of delay isn't new its been going on for months!!!What am I paying my insurance for. I would avoid them because if you make a claim you'll be waiting months for your money. 9 weeks so far!

Like many of the other reviews about Insure Your Paws, I have been waiting 21 weeks for my claim to be progressed. This is absolutely unacceptable. My vet submitted my claim form to IYP in April, however they didn't acknowledge it until 16 May. Now 21 weeks later, I am still waiting for this to be dealt with. I wish I had stayed with my previous, albeit more expensive pet insurance company. DO NOT INSURE YOUR PET WITH INSURE YOUR PAWS UNLESS YOU ARE HAPPY TO WASTE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME.

Having had my policy for 2 years I have to say I was surprised at how much it had jumped in price given that I had not claimed for any treatments in over a year. I found that I could get better cover with the same company for almost £140 less than my renewal if I took out a new policy. I spoke to customer services who agreed it seemed silly but was not able to change my policy to match the new online price. I cancelled my existing policy and took the new policy as I was happy to stay with Insure My Paws. I do think however that it seems silly that I had to do this. Why do companies not just offer their best deal to existing customers? It seems there is no reward for loyalty these days or do they just hope their customers will simply renew at a higher price? I have given 5 stars as I was happy with the level of cover provided and when I had to claim on the policy previously it was handled quickly and efficiently.

I've had a claim going on since 25th April and was told earlier today that they STILL cant guarantee when it will be assessed. They said because it "took a while" to receive all of the information that they required from my vets etc., my claim has actually now been pushed back! So the claim I've had going on for months is now behind someone else's, who's possibly had theirs going on for less time?? The final bit of information they needed was sent to them on 8th August (nearly 7 weeks ago) and they still haven't been able to assess my claim. Absolutely shocking if you ask me. Every time I call (which has been a fair few times!) I'm always told they can't give me any timescales. The staff working in their customer services department are always lovely and very apologetic - I feel sorry for them having to deal with calls/queries from angry and frustrated customers, like myself! My dog has to have an operation in a couple of weeks that's costing £5300 and my vet has said because this claim is still ongoing and they haven't been paid yet, I can't put in a claim for the operation and have to pay when my pet is discharged. Thank you very much IYP - absolutely SHOCKING customer service!!!!

Despite my vet sending 4 email claim forms on my behalf between April 2022 and July 2022 my claim form was apparently not received until 6 July 2022. 11 weeks later I have still not received the insurance money despite several calls and emails. On todays call, I was advised that there is no timescale as to when my claim is likely to even be assessed as they are short staffed. I have to wait up to 5 more days to even be contacted about a complaint. I will definitely not be renewing with Insure Your Paws and advise you to look elsewhere if you want to be paid out.

Do not use this company!! My claim has been on going since 05/07/22 and remains ongoing at the present date. Our vets tried contacting them multipul times with no response. Our vets then contacted us to pay the vet bill as they were unable to put anymore admin time into our insurers. We are still awaiting for the claim to go through there customer service it terrible. I have now gone to another company with good ratings, as I was not willing to renew my insurance for another year. AVOID

Policy Number IYPU0011CT/202136/1 Claim number 57116654 My cat is 12years old and has only ever been to the vets twice in her life, once to be spayed and the most recent visit that I’m claiming for through IYP. Documentation forwarded to my current vets in JUNE. First communication from IYP 3/8/22, who have “requested more information” from the first vets (spaying vets?! Why? That was 8-10years ago and nothing to do with the current claim). We are now almost at the end of September and I am still receiving texts and emails informing me that they are ‘working on my claim’ and ‘experiencing high levels of claims currently’. This is absolutely ridiculous. They are requesting information from my vets that has already been provided, and then said that they don’t check emails to see if said info has been returned to them…. Idi0ts. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME. I am frustrated beyond belief with this company. It appears they will go to any length to delay or refuse pay out.

I moved to Insure Your Paws from a more expensive well known provider and was impressed with the website, service promise, extent of cover and the ease of setup. However when I needed to make a claim for unforeseen treatment for skin issues, the insurers took nearly 4 months to even look at it although all documentation was properly completed by my vet. They then implied that I had invalidated the insurance cover by failing to declare my dogs ‘aggressive tendencies’ and questioned whether there were any third party claims against him which was completely untrue. I was astonished and quite upset and found through consulting my vet again a note on the medical record I supplied, about discussions relating to boisterous teenage puppy behaviour prior to my dog being castrated. This predated the claim and the insurance by over two years and had been taken completely out of context. The insurers grudgingly accepted further written confirmation from my vet that my dog has a sweet temperament and that there have been no aggressive behaviour incidents or third party claims. The insurers then split the claim which was for treatment that crossed over into two continuous insurance periods into two claims so that they could deduct the No Claims bonus twice. I am now left with the sense that they did everything possible to avoid paying out for a perfectly legitimate claim, including implying, without evidence and in an accusatory tone, that my dog had behavioural problems when this was, in any case, irrelevant. I do not feel their stance is in keeping with either the letter of the insurance policy or the spirit of it. It was sold as a helpful, supportive service to help cushion an owner against unforeseen and unbudgeted cost, but my experience has been negative and I have not felt trusted or valued as a customer.

14 weeks and counting........ Prioritised at 12 weeks for urgent assesment after several phone calls and time wasted sat on hold. Now apparently it needs another senior assessor to look at it so ring back in another 2 weeks!!!! So that will be 16 weeks at best..... A simple unjury and 1st time I've ever claimed.

Insure your paws took a long time to pay out the money when my dog had to see a specialist. They say it will take no longer than 8 weeks but it took 12 weeks before I received any money.

Takes ages to get through on the phone and unfortunately I need to claim on a monthly basis because of a poorly dog continuing forms take 8-10 weeks to pay so sometimes I could have 3 payments outstanding that’s why most vets won’t deal with you directly
