in all the years i have had pet insurance,some 30 odd years i have to say Insure your Paws is absolutely awful. I have a 3 year old Maltipoo which suffers from anxiety and stress when near other dogs.I called IYP and they said i could claim for a behaviorist at up to £750,our usual vets gave us the details of a qualified behaviorist.All good so far dog was better but not completely cured but a lot better.We made a claim for £575.00 thinking it would be sorted in a few days.Needless to say some 7 months later they are still not paying up. Next claim for skin disorders finally paid after 6 weeks. Next claim Stomach disorders well on month 4 still no payment Next stop Money claim as we have had it up to here with the pathetic attitude and unhelpfulness of the claims people.we pay £350 a year for absolutely nothing!!!
It’s like any insurance, you only find out how good they are when you need them!! I can honestly say my experience with this company after having to make my first ever claim for my dog and being a customer of over 3 years have been diabolical!! From the first day of contact on 28th May requesting a claims form, only after not having received it a week later to be then told there was no call or request registered. To date 20th July I am still waiting for my settlement. Last week I received at least 7 text with the same content on 3 consecutive days. I received an additional email at the same time as the first text with the break down and information regarding the payment. In reading this I discovered the payment had been made to my vet, despite clearly requesting the payment was to made to me on the submitted claims form. On immediate contact with the claims dept I was promised the problem would be resolved quickly and I would be kept in the loop regarding what was happening. This resulted in a further 6 text containing the exact same information being sent with absolutely no further information. I’ve tried several times to speak to a human being and finally spoke to Susanne in Customer service only to be told I needed to speak to the claims department. She herself tried but had to resort to a email requesting they ring me. To date I’ve heard nothing yet again. I’ve now received a email to say the £515.38 will be paid into my account in the next few days. This claim has been a comedy of errors and to date 7 weeks and still no money. I received an apology when things first went wrong at the very beginning, with a promise Martin in customer service would over see the claim to make sure it went through quickly and smoothly from then on. Well that didn’t happen either it just went from bad to worse!!
Disappointed that after four years and the first time I need to claim they don't cover dental (unless it's an accident ) I look after my dogs teeth and vet says they need cleaning once a year so had this done and cannot claim , it's my fault I have not read the small print on this but silver lining is my vet has said there is an insurer that does dental it costs a little bit more but I will be going with the new provider at the end of this year there are insurers that offer dental as standard just been on and got a quote hope this helps with anyone making a decision .Just to add after their comment on here I got in touch with them and their reply "ok so we will turn off auto renew on your policy" they came across as being helpful but I can tell you they were not!

Customer service are great.... But don't ever claim... I still can't as they haven't sent me a claim form.. Every day this week customer service apologise and say the clasims department will be in touch... But still No Claims form emailed over... Dread having to make a claim... And of course all this added stress with a poorly pet dog... How can sdomething so simple be so hard!!!

This is the worst insurance company ever. I had reservations when I joined them. They just keep bumping up the price. It started very low and just two years later it’s nearly £100 a month. Avoid, avoid.. you also can never get a clear answer from them. My vets had to call them in the end and even that was a massive pain the the bum. They said they wouldn’t cover it but my vet said my insurance would. So she argued for me. Turns out it was covered. They just take your money then give you misleading information. 😢
Rubbish company very expensive, when the policy came up for renewal a different company took out funds from our d/d account and even more money that was quited . Trying to cancel the account.😡😡

Year 1 was a competitive price - we had a good year with no claims. I was surprised then when year 2 jumped up by about 30%. There were significant reductions available online (50%) and also cheaper offers for the same insurance for new customers I was given a slight reduction but still higher than available elsewhere I stayed simply because of the hassle in changing
My experience with insure your paws has been very positive, my dog has developed a long term medical problem and insure your paws has honoured her vet bills with no qualms whatsoever which has been a great relief and saved me a lot of extra worry as I try to cope with my pet that has a long term complicated medical problem..I was so glad I insured my pet and reccomend that if you are a pet owner you should buy insurance , insuring a healthy pet is quite affordable , you never know when your healthy pet can suddenly become unwell, so glad I made the decision to take a policy, I would have had considerable bills to pay without insure your paws..thankyou
