My premium rose by 25% in 1 year from 2020 to 2021 and yet I had no claims. They have switched to Covea as underwriters but stated this was not the reason for the increase. I asked specifically for the reason why my premium had increased and the explanation was text book insurance 'factors' - very unsatisfactory. Is this a license to print money or just poor service?? I am now considering taking this to the Ombudsman.

Started claim on 17th of Feb 2021 and still waiting for completion and pay out. Never had this with any other pet insurer before. Absolutely Poor. Still waiting.

I was happy to renew my pet insurance, at a fair price for a good policy. Communications were good, and I did not feel trapped into renewal.

I have used various pet insurers for dogs cats and horses over a period of 20 years...InsureYourPaws is the most difficult and awkward Insurer to date. They have manipulated clinical information in order to suit their own requirements (and not pay out). Additionally they are difficult to get hold of and deal with when making a claim. This is not the type of company you want when dealing with a pet bereavement or serious illness. Others such as NFU, Direct Line and Pet Plan provide a far better quality customer service and experience.
