Great so far. 15 week old puppy, covered by breeder initially and have decided to continue with KC Lifetime Premium. Really helpful on the phone. Though so far have a happy, healthy pup & hope I don’t need to use it but reassured its in place

Due to moving house and going to now-vets emergency , I needed so much help as I had packed all paperwork which had gone into storage. . lovely very polite and helpful person on phone. Very quick at answering the telephone too.

A £200 increase on last year's cost was excessive although I did manage to get cost down by reducing some of the items on my policy.

My dog's operation was completed on 14th May and insurance claim forms submitted. Now on 3rd June and still awaiting the outcome, never mind payment. The bill is nearly £2000 sitting on my credit card. The Kennel Club insurance claims department allege that they provide a quick service - make your own mind up. I note that the Kennel Club's advisory text message now includes a link. This text is now treated as spam by my service provider. Come on Kennel Club insurance, settle your claims quicker please. Post discussion with KC. A helpful young lady has since contacted me to give me an update regarding progress. Fingers crossed for an early resolution now, thank you for contacting me.

I recently had to put my new puppy to sleep after he developed a severe intestinal issue. It was a tragic and traumatic time for the whole family but I felt that at least I didn't need to worry about the large vet bills as I had the puppy insurance through the Kennel Club. When the dust finally settled I realised that the insurance does not pay for things like cremation or all the cost of specialist food etc and also that I had to pay not just a £120 excess but also 20% of the bill on top. In the end of the day this meant that I was only covered for 57% of the vets bills. Although I did get the purchase price of the pup back in full I was still left with a vet bill of nearly £700. I also got very little correspondence from the insurer and had to phone them to get answers about what amounts they had settled and what they weren't paying for. I really think that the Kennel Club should be highlighting things like this additional 20% excess and also the fact that there is a £4,000 limit to all claims as we got very close to this amount. The Kennel Club should be recommending that owners consider taking out additional insurance if they do not wish to have a large bill to deal with at the end of a very difficult time.

I already had Kennel Club pet insurance for my existing dog, and I was very happy with it - I had to claim and there was no quibble about being refunded. It made sense to insure my new puppy with KC as well. It was quick and easy to do, and although it's probably not the cheapest, I think it offers peace of mind when it comes to the health of my dogs.
