I can only say good things about the London Vision Clinic and can't recommend it enough! The whole team have been very attentative and professional in their assessment of my eyes, determining which procedure will be most suitable for me. The exams are very very thorough and over a few appointments to not only check and test your eyes properly but also to 'treat' them ahead of the operation for best results. I had dry eyes to begin with and so was given lubrication gel and drops to apply daily to help them ahead of the procedure. I was very anxious on the day of the operation. I had SMILE done. I have to say, the operation itself was absolutely nothing to worry aboout. Dr Carp completed the procedure on both my eyes in about 12 minutes, in and out of the theatre, the whole thing was really quick. He walked me through every stage, I felt absolutely nothing. To explain to my friends who are also interested in going through it, I compare it to going to the dentist where the laser eye operation is a 2 out of 10, and going to the dentist is a solid 8 (1 on the scale is easy and painless, 10 is exactly the opposite). The day after my surgery I could read parking signs across the street and departure boards at the train station, something I had to squint for even with my glasses before. My vision is now 20/20 and my quality of life without glasses has improved a lot. I can now take my baby daughter to swimming lessons without having to wear glasses in the pool; I don't have to deal with fogging up when wearing a mask; I can see myself in the mirror clearly, no need to get really up close... Getting my eyes done is by far one of the best decisions I ever made and choosing to do it at the London Vision Clinic as opposed to a high street clinic put me at ease and gave me huge confidence at the results.
I had my surgery performed by Mr Carp a year ago and have just recently been discharged as a patient after my year review. The staff are all wonderful and really make it a calm and easy experience. Vimal (my optometrist) explained everything in detail before the surgery and made sure I completely understood what would happen. The day of my surgery I was made to feel so welcome and at ease and by my check up the next day I could see pretty much perfectly. It has been life changing not having to think about glasses or lenses and I love waking up every day able to see. Every appointment I have been welcomed and had all my questions answered without feeling at all rushed. The only time I called other than having my appointments was to get some extra drops, my call was answered quickly and the drops arrived within a couple of days. Correcting my vision was a life changing decision but choosing the London Vision Clinic made it an easy one and I've been happy from start to finish.
I cannot speak highly enough of LVC. It is now a year since my (very successful) laser eye surgery and the after care and attention has been superb. Everyone there from Professor Reinstein to the receptionist who greets you on arrival couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. I would recommend LVC without hesitation.
I rarely leave reviews, but this time I was actually the one asking how to leave one. My experience at the clinic has been absolutely amazing. They did multiple tests (some of them twice) to make sure I was the right candidate for the procedure and Vimal (my optometrist at LVC) took time to really explain everything he could see in the test results, making sure I would understand. He was realistic yet kind. In the end it turned out I wasn't the right candidate for the procedure, but Vimal went absolutely out of his way to help me figure out what I could do about my eyes. It is difficult to find this level of care and kindness in the medical industry, so this really stood out for me. Mr Carp (who would have been my surgeon if I ended up having the surgery) was lovely too: he agreed that he would rather not take the chance with my eyes, even though the possibility of my surgery not going well was absolutely minimal - which is what you want, since most clinics would rather take the money and do it. Rhiannon was my coordinator and she was also very friendly: she tried to accommodate me and schedule my appointments in line with my availability, even though the clinic is pretty busy. I would recommend the London Vision Clinic to anyone. I ended up not undergoing treatment and cannot therefore call myself a patient, but there is nowhere else in the UK I would go if I could get this treatment done. Thanks a lot, guys!
excellent overall experience, beyond the outstanding outcome of becoming glass-free I particularly appreciated 1- the focus on making the process very informative, anticipating any question in order to minimise any concern or worry 2- immediate assistance post-treatment to monitor progress thank you London Vision Clinic for making it possible for me!
I am someone who has always been terrified of surgeons, doctors, dentists, but from the moment I went into London Vision Clinic I knew I was in safe hands. The reception team is very friendly and organised and every appointment was booked well in advance. The surgery team are very thorough with their testing and don’t take any shortcuts which is reassuring. Two people who I need to give a special mention to are Vimal, my Optometrist and Alastair, my surgeon. Vimal and Alastair were both very reassuring and easy to talk to, but were also very upfront and honest about the risks. Also want to add that a couple of days after surgery I had a small concern (which turn out to be nothing) so I rang the reception. Within 5 minutes, Alastair was ringing me to ensure I was ok. You just don’t get that level of treatment and service anywhere else. What really put me at ease, was that everyone was one step ahead at London Vision Clinic. You are told during tests and surgery what sensations you are going to experience ahead of time so when it happens nothing catches you by surprise. I honestly cannot recommend London Vision Clinic enough. Your eyesight isn’t something to look for cheap alternatives on. My advice is to go to the best and London Vision Clinic is the best around. It was the best decision I ever made to have my surgery here and I only wish I had done it sooner. Thank you everyone at LoVC!
I heard about this clinic from a friend in Australia, who flew down JUST to use this specific eye clinic. This clinic has a global reputation for being the best. And when I had my eyes done you can see why. Extremely professional. And when it comes to your eyes, this is the type of clinic you want to deal with!
I had eye surgery back in February. It's something I'd wanted for ages, but had always been pretty nervous. LVC was incredible in all ways - made me feel calm and fully informed. And the results were immediate and fantastic - my only regret is I wish I'd done it sooner.
The whole experience from my initial consultation to the regular post operative check ups have been extremely smooth. The service is professional and any issues addressed quickly. I recommend to all my friends and family several have already been through the process with similar results to mine. Best thing I ever did.
Superb service From start to finish and I can now read without glasses. I couldn’t be happier
I recently underwent laser eye surgery at the London Vision Clinic, it's not something i ever imagined myself doing but due to covid the combination of fogged up glasses due to mask wearing became unbearable. Every staff member i encountered at the LVC were helpful, friendly and professional from the outset. I'm now a couple of months post surgery and i struggle to remember what wearing glasses was like. The regular texts post-op from my surgeon Glenn checking on my progress were great as well as all of the before and after surgery tests carried out by Emma and her team made me feel i was in safe hands throughout. I'd recommend the LVC to anyone. A great and thorough team of experts.
Pricey but you get what you pay for. After 25 years wearing glasses (20 of those wearing contacts), I had no complications and am very happy with my decision to get laser done.
I have been extremely impressed with LVC from the first contact through to my follow up appointments. Everything has been explained fully, extensive checks before surgery which highlighted things that had never been picked up before, smooth surgery day and great follow up checks. It’s reassuring to know that I can pick up the phone at any time for advice. Would highly recommend and indeed have, to many people. Only wish I had done it earlier!!
I had a very complicated eye sight prescription (astigmatism, very short-sighted from the childhood and age-related long-sight). I used to wear soft lenses, but increased astigmatism made this option unavailable for me.. So, I’ve decided to try laser correction back in 2015… It’s been a long journey .(. I had 3 corrections done for last 6 years! ) Everyone in London Vision clinic was great - very caring and professional. I cannot praise enough Vimal (optician) and Dan (surgeon) for what they have done for me - I don’t need any glasses at all for last two years! It’s really life-changing experience!
I had considered getting laser eye surgery for several years having worn glasses or contact lenses for over 15 years. Finally after Christmas 2020 I finally decided to seriously look into it and found the London Vision Clinic. I read about the different procedures and requested an information guide. I was then contacted by a patient care coordinator who went through any questions I had about laser surgery and we booked in my initial consultations and surgery appointment. I opted to do the initial consultation and opthalmic tests all on one day which took about 3 1/2 hours. The optometrist that I saw, Sharon, was very thorough and lovely and friendly which made the process easier. I was advised that I required an additional scan on my eyes using the Artemis Insight Ultrasound. I had this done the week after my initial consultation and it was quite an experience. I then had my surgical consultation with Mr Stuart who went through the SMILE process and what would happen on the day and answered any questions I had. On the day of surgery I was presented with a pack containing eye drops and shields for the post surgery recover. I was then given the anaesthetic drops before being taken into the surgery room. It was a little daunting at first, but I was quickly made comfortable on the bed, with a blanket and a little toy to hold. My eyelid was held open by a grip - something I expected to feel like an irritation to my eye, but quickly settled into position. I had to focus on a small light within the laser. This lasted only a matter of seconds. Within about 5 minutes both eyes had been treated. Mr Stuart was very calming throughout the procedure. He told me what I would feel so nothing was a surprise. Following the post surgery checks, I was taken to the recovery room to relax. I then made my journey home, making sure to keep up with all the necessary eye drops. I was expecting to feel discomfort once the anaesthetic wore off however I didn't have any pain and slept well that night. At my follow up appointment the next day, I was told that my vision was at 20/25 with the hopes that it will settle at 20/20 once my eyes fully heal. I am so grateful that my sight has been restored and that I can now see from the moment I wake up. I wish I had done this years ago.
I went for IOL surgery. The surgery required numerous visits for different tests and scans. I think I've tried every machine and met every nurse and technician. Every single member of staff is both warm and professional.
4 months post op LASIK & my eyesight is amazing & my lazy eye is fixed, I couldn’t be happier, a truly great investment! I have needed pretty strong glasses since birth & forced my optician to let me have contact lenses since age 11, as I hated my glasses so much, it has transformed the way I live & feel, no more not being able to see in the morning & bad vision driving at night ☺️
Very professional and friendly staff
couldn't be happier i was turned away from other clinics as my prescription was to high +6. however London vision explained they could treat +6 so i went for the assessment and so glad i did there level of testing is night and day compared to other clinics soo much more thorough. i would not hesitate having it done again there big thank you to Glenn, Olivia and all the team.
