MISURI located in Piazza Santa Croce in Florence, is the oldest artisan shop in this district that is renowned as the site of numerous tanneries and leather goods during the 14th century. MISURI continues the activity from 1906 and today MISURI is recognized as that remaining establishment that still retains the manufacturing principles of that era dedicated to Florentine craftsmanship. The practice of vegetable tanning stands disappearing in Italy; the exception is here in Florence from MISURI where there is no shortage of beautiful vegetables bags and accessories in tanned leather. Furthermore MISURI artisans still use the gold pressing technique leaf under heated bronze tools was introduced in Italy in 1400 and personalize purchases by hand with the customer's initials.
