MISURI located in Piazza Santa Croce in Florence, is the oldest artisan shop in this district that is renowned as the site of numerous tanneries and leather goods during the 14th century. MISURI continues the activity from 1906 and today MISURI is recognized as that remaining establishment that still retains the manufacturing principles of that era dedicated to Florentine craftsmanship. The practice of vegetable tanning stands disappearing in Italy; the exception is here in Florence from MISURI where there is no shortage of beautiful vegetables bags and accessories in tanned leather. Furthermore MISURI artisans still use the gold pressing technique leaf under heated bronze tools was introduced in Italy in 1400 and personalize purchases by hand with the customer's initials. A couple years ago she and I were traveling in Italy and she found the most beautiful orange leather gloves in Florence. Fast forward a few years and she’d lost one of the gloves. When I found this pair online I just had to buy them for her. When they arrived she was overwhelmed. ‘So soft! Perfect fit and beautiful color! The best gift ever!’ So, thank you Misuri for having such gorgeous gloves and for making my friend so happy! PS My friend told me that her name and address were handwritten in the MOST beautiful handwriting. Icing on the cake!
