Needed a section of my drain lateral to the street replaced. While the mini excavator was digging out my yard, they came in contact with my water main that had just been replaced. They dragged it down through my basement floor probably 2 feet. Complete debacle and had another employee come and rework my water main. There was a small leak as a result and the job forman assured me someone would be back to fix it, but since the job was “completed” I’ve gotten nothing. Not even a follow up call to see if things were ok. The escalator also removed two sections of sidewalk to complete the job, then just placed the sections back. You don’t do things like that. Also broke a third section and the foreman says they’ll be back in the spring to fix it. Just so disgusted and disappointed with this crew. I was lied to once and guess I’ll have to wait for spring to see if I was lied to twice. I would not recommend this company. So shady and I don’t deal well with liars.

Mr.Rooter saved my Thanksgiving. They were called to repair a water line that a dishwasher delivery person broke when removing old dishwasher. Mr. Rooter sent a A repair tech out immediately. Josiah the master plumber that performed the repai was very professional and performed a quality above and beyond repair for me. I would highly recommend Mr.Rooter and would use them again for any service I might require in the future. Ve4y happy customer!!!!

This was my first time ever using Mr. Rooter. I scheduled a service call for a leak at my water meter in-put valve. Three service men showed up the morning of 11-1-2024. we discussed the repairs; an invoice was created (estimate of $869.96). SO, I ask when can you complete the work? They answer today but would need to leave to get the parts from the local Water Works company and return later that day. However, before leaving they said they could smell gas. So, they sprayed the gas meter down with soapy water. But could not find any signs of a leak and soon left. I put in an emergency call to the local Gas Company for a possible gas leak. They sent a tech out immediately who determine there was no leak. I received a call from Mr Rooter later that day informing me the tech had a family emergency. And would it be ok if someone returned tomorrow. The tech showed up the next day. Was at my house for 45 minutes turning off the water outside. Then left for 45 minutes to go to Home Depot to get the parts he needed. Spent 30 minutes changing a 3/4" Ball/Gate valve. That once he was done dose not function properly and appears to be broken. It's not leaking but you can't turn off the water before the meter. Leaving me with basically the same problem. He created a new invoice this one for $665.74. Here is where I have a problem. The tech charged me for work / parts he did not replace. He changed (1) 3/4" Ball/Gate valve that doesn't function properly. And charged me for (2) @ $153.66 each ($307.32). This was the $25.00 part from Home Depot that took him 45 minutes to go get. Also charged me $358.42 for a ( 3/4 cooper water line-exposed up to 2") whatever that is? He used the existing fittings because he couldn't break the connector on the meter. Yet charged me for parts he didn't replace. This is poor customer service and not a good look for Mr Rooter. I called their office requesting a supervisor visit my home to review the work. And that I receive a full refund. FIRST IMPRESSIONS MATTER MR ROOTER!!! Still waiting to hear from you!

I thought I had posted a review and hopefully this one will stick. Had plumber come out to my home to look at taps for my upstairs jet tub. Worker said that there does not appear to be any parts available to fix it so a new one needed to be ordered. The plumber suggested that I purchase another from online - Amazon - cost around $400. Material finally came in and called Mr. Rooter come in to install. Same employee came in and while installing broke the material. (tap) Response from seller when seeing the photo of product indicated that they felt is was the fault of the installer and not their product. Mr. Rooter told me that it was the poor product and not the installer. The employee was the one who helped me with the choice of product while Mr. Rooter(owner) told me that I should have bought the product from them and not online even though his own employee was the one who suggested the product that was purchased. Refused to offer any assistance in this. At this point sent information to government consumer protection. Waiting for response from them.

What a nightmare and inconvenience! Firstly, I have a old home, my pipes are not easy to get at. When James and Anthony attended my home I was told that an access would need to be cut out of my spare bedroom wall to get at the pipes. In addition, I had to have my walls tested for Asbestos which I paid for. The testing came back negative. The technician proceeds to grab one of my butcher knives out of my kitchen to cut out a sample of my wall in my spare bedroom, my first red flag regarding this company. THEN, I confirm my appointment vis text confirmation requirement received from this company, figured all was good even tho I was skeptical, and confirmed the appointment. I am working from home, I was in a meeting, once I was done my meeting I checked my phone for messages to hear four messages from this company. As I wasn't able to answer my phone they cancelled my appointment. I would NOT recommend this company! THEN I requested a copy of the asbestos testing and they would NOT release it to me even tho I paid for it!!!! THEN I get a call from Chris who basically blamed me for the entire mishap! If you want your walls cut into with a butcher knife, call ROOTER!

Excellent service and very helpful customer service! My old water heater needed to be replaced, and I received a free consultation (the technician came to the house, measured everything, and gave the estimate) before the installation. The service was done fast in a very efficient manner. The price and the warranty (12 years!) were very affordable. Thank you, Mr. Rooter!

This plumber has a 1.9 rating for a reason. They sent Dillion out who took a video of our plumbing and indicated we had a 10 foot belly in our pipes. At the time, Dillon told us he would send us the video or we could call and request it. However, we never were sent the video and when I requested today I was told they did not have it and would not do a repeat video. We paid $300 for that video and it should be our property. The quote was outrageous and this seems to be the way of making you go with their company as you have to pay another plumber than to do the camera on top of whatever their cost is. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY>

Service was required on the weekend, a Saturday, and was very impressed with how quickly Mr. Rooter's answering service took my call and then how quickly the Technician called me back. I left a message with 6 other plumbing services on the same day and not one called me back that day or following week! Impressed with how efficient, knowledgeable and courteous the Technician, Andrew, was that came to the house. I will definitely call Mr. Rooter for future plumbing issues.

They did not live up to their quote and contract. The contract was to replace all quest piping in my house. After they left, I noticed the piping to my bath tube upstairs was not replaced. I called and the guy came out. He said it was not replaced because they would need to replace the faucet. Their quote ($12,800) included replacement of my shower heads and I said it should have included the tube if that was the case. He refused to honor the contract which I paid in full. As the plumber (Rich) left my house he called his boss and called me a douch because I demanded they honor their contract. Don’t ever use this company, they can’t be trusted to honor their contract. Their rating should really be zero.

People need to stand up for their rights and don't accept when people are trying to take advantage of you! This is all about Mr. Rooter… DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING! First of all, let me say that I am not opposed to paying a fair price for services and I do believe that everyone works to get paid. Secondly, let me say that I do know that pricing has gone up in a huge way in the last few years. It's not like I'm delusional and I'm thinking we should get 1950s pricing on things, but that would be nice, lol. One of the biggest reasons that I am doing this is because I DETEST GREED. - By all means, provide a service, and by all means, have rates for your services… but stop treating HUMAN BEINGS like cash cows. Most people are struggling and scraping by as it is. MR. ROOTER HAS MADE ME COMPLETELY ASHAMED OF THEM WITH THEIR ACTIONS AND THAT'S WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT. Case in point - my kitchen sink. Let me start by saying that in 2019 when I swapped out the original sink when I got a deeper sink that I now have I had to get a new garbage disposal to be installed, and a faucet was installed. All the plumbing had to be changed because of the depth of the new sink and the location of the drains. I thought that the quote of $600.00 was a lot of money to have to pay, but it so happened that Mister Rooter was the only company I could get here to do a job in a reasonable amount of time. Fortunately my employer helped me out with that since this is technically their home that I'm living in. The replacement sink was a granite composite sink and I will never own another one as long as I live. I already need a new sink and I did take good care of the granite composite sink. It's in good working order but it's terribly ugly. We have the hardest water here and the sink is a dark color - even though I maintained it and put oil on it it's still something you need to do all the time or it's going to look funky. Well, funky it is! So I got a different sink... So now I need the new (16 ga. Stainless) sink installed and I had to get some quotes. I called Mr. Rooter. THEY QUOTED OVER $1300 TO DO THE SINK SWAP OUT, even though the current sink and the new sink line up perfectly with what is already there for plumbing. All it needs is to be disconnected and swapped out. So they quoted me over twice as much money versus the bigger job that they did in 2019 that required a lot more work and a lot more time. I don't know what happened between 2019 and now in this company, but someone greedy is in charge and someone changed everything in the way of their pricing. I will never give them my business again and I recommend that no one else does either. I almost had a heart attack when I saw that amount of money as a quote for about a 2 hour job (if that long), and on top of that I had to pay them $45.00 to come and tell me what they would charge. I've paid them their $45 and I bid them Godspeed and I will never, ever, EVER call them again. They are greedy money-rapists, greedily taking advantage common hard working people. Luckily, I got 2 other reasonable quotes. One was about $400.00 and the other one for about $200.00 to do the job – (I have to use licensed contractors). I will opt for the $200.00 one and I will post a review once that job gets done. I hope this helps at least someone not make the mistake of going with Mr. Rooter for any services, or bothering to pay for them to evensomuch as quote a job. Get a few quotes. I know people want money to come and even look at a job now, but I understand that to a point. It's their time and energy their doing to go look at a job that they may not even get paid for at all because nobody uses them. I understand, and I don't mind paying a small fee. But I will say that another company (Goettls High Desert Mechanical) wanted $95 to come and look and I told them no. It doesn't take 10 minutes and I am not going to pay 95 bucks for that.

Clogged main exit pipe trouble confirmed Fri Feb 3, '23 during a deep cold snap when full basement sink and wet floor were spotted. Mr rooter alone even answered the phone, sent someone right away. Main pipe cap was very stuck, had to be cut off. Mr rooter said he snaked out 69', cable broke on retraction, camera confirmed tree(belt) roots. He said jetter use would cost $1850 first hour, $350 after (use is NOT recommended with my pipe route to exterior), it might help. If it breaks it's on me. He was curt and condescending when he was responsive, a dismissive, rude XXX, the opposite of a professional plumber. He quoted me $11k for street excavation, the permanent fix. (Yes, I still have the paper quote.) I cut a check for $700+, he left. And left the sizable broken snake cable tossed in my side yard. Gosh, thanks. (Springfield (Mass.) Water & Sewer, an incredibly efficient team, ended up charging me $850 for the street excavation/fix. Again, vs $11k.) I called Monday a.m., mr rooter's office said he'd be here 3-6:pm with a temporary pipe cap. I called at 430, knowing it wasn't going to happen. Was told it wasn't going to happen. New plan for Tuesday, he'll call me with a heads up that he's coming. Showed up at about 515 without calling, with new cap, installed it. I told him Springfield W&S had come by first thing Monday morning, placed the temporary cap you see. "What did they find," mr rooter asked. I said "please take the cable you left in the yard when you leave" before shutting the upstairs door, without answering. He pulled off, I locked basement exterior door. He pulled back up minutes later, sat for a bit under ten minutes without turning off the work van, pulled off. This company shot for outrageous payment at a time (extreme cold snap) when homeowners are very vulnerable. On a personal note, I also believe the plumber was just fine with taking advantage of a very stressed older woman. (You bet I'm pulling the gender card, it applies.) Horrible company, do not call. Why did I wait so long to submit this? It's my first bad review, I hate this, but it seems I'm still very ticked off.

Mr. Rooter of South-Central Connecticut did a wonderful job of finding the collapsed drainpipe behind our building in Norwich, presenting several options to fix the situation, working with the local utility in Norwich, and effectively completing every aspect of the job. It was a hard project involving multiple houses. But everything was done top-notch. The crew was pleasant and thorough. The business owner spent a great deal of time at the property until everything was completed satisfactorily. We appreciate the great work and customer service!

I had an awful experience with this company. The two guys they sent were very unprofessional, rude, and aggressive. Women, beware! They weren't done with their work by 5 pm, so I told them they'd have to come back the next day to finish. Warren, one of the workers, responded, "no, we are not leaving." I debated calling the cops to get them to leave, but instead, I called their field supervisor, who told them they needed to leave. Even then, they stayed for another 20 minutes, making me and my coworker late for our after-work appointments. They yelled at us that "payment would be nice!!!" before they even completed the work. They were here from 8:30 am to 5 pm but spent most of the time talking and wasting time. Avoid this company at all costs!

I want to give zero star to Mr. Rooter in Rockville Maryland, I just get ripped off by Mr. Rooter in Rockville I paid $335.00 for the job that was not done. They should have unclogged the sink that is linked to the laundry machines and they could not fix it.

Unknown source of drain flies in our condo. Both Johnny and Michael were excellent techs. They scoped our drains but could not find the source in the pipes. They snaked under the tub and sink in master bath. Found trap under sink full of sandlike substance. Replaced trap. They discovered we had a leaking hot water heater and they replaced that. All work was competently done. We as homeowners need to follow up with enzymes down all drains. Drain flies are a very difficult problem to solve. Will contact them in the future.

I would prefer to give ZERO stars! They left our yard and street a complete mess! We had to clean that ourselves. Now it’s a year later and yard is horrible and has a huge rut and mound in it. It can’t be mowed or anything. It turns to mud in the rain. It’s not even level with our house. Do NOT use them!!! I have many photos to show the damage.
