We called on Tuesday about our water shutting off sporadically, had a technician out Wednesday to diagnose the problem. The technician did not have the proper parts to repair it and said he would come back in the morning to work on it. He arrived at 9:30 on Thursday and spent 3.5 hours replacing the piping and electrical box near our water tank which he had diagnosed as the problem. The technician left around 1 PM after I had paid $1200 for the repair. At 3 PM I was using the hose to fill up water for my horses and our water shut off again (having the same issue we hired the company to fix). I immediately called the company and explained what I had and requested someone come out to fix it as we are now going on 3 days without consistent water. The representative said he could not have someone out until morning. I explained my situation and that it was 95+ degrees out and I had animals who needed water and he said he could not get anyone out until 8-12 PM the following day (3 days after my initial call). He was not compassionate about what I was dealing with or the fact that we still did not have water because their techno failed to diagnose the problem and repair our water tank properly. We now have $1200 less and still do not have our problem fixed. Overall, a horrible experience working with this company.
I believe that after what I was told on the 2nd visit it is their fault from the first visit the drain is broken. I was told that what he did was or shouldn’t have been completed the ways he did it. In 12 years I have lived here I have never had water coming out of the ground into the yard from the work they have completed. The employee with all of the tattoos stated he would not have used the water pressure cutter or metal cutter in this type of drain. My neighbor was watching the work get completed and has never seen water come out of the ground this way.
I called Mr. Rooter to see how to fix my plumbing problem caused by tree roots. The young man check with his camera and called for a 2nd opinion from a senior team member. The 2nd person also used his camera to check. The 1st person never advised me there would be a charge for the estimate. After both men checked I received an invoice for 527.00 plus tax with the written estimate. Nothing else was done to address my sewer problem. The 2nd person then proceeded to provide me an estimate of 11000. to remove the tree roots and fix my problem. The 1st representative then put thru my bank acct with my card 2x the amount he shared and on top a charge for "environmental truck of 25.00+ was added to my bill. To add injury to insult, the 1st representative DOUBLED my bill and it went in at 624.64x2. Now I hit the roof. I called 5 other plumbers to ask what they charged to give an estimate and was advised "there is NO charge". I disputed the $1200+ charge with my bank and the company sent me another invoice for the 624.44. I was charged over *$600 for them coming to my home and using a camera yet doing NOTHING to fix my problem. Realizing other companies OFFER to provide estimates at NO COST, EVEN USING THEIR CAMERA". BEWARE Consumer. Sign NOTHING. Check EVERYTHING. Better yet, do yourself a favour and call someone else. I called to discussed with Mr. Rooter manager my disappointment at being charged for something every other business I called gave for FREE. They are now hounding me for the 527.78 (camera usage) and 25.00 (environment fee) outstanding bill. I placed a stop payment through my bank for the double billing of $1259.38.
I had Mr Rooter stop by to replace a disposal unit that was backed up and causing the dishwasher to leak and not drain. Plumber was James Cornish and was very professional.
Pro; Initially came out quick to clear clogged underground drain tiles. When performing work outside was done in a day. Interior was brought up to code Cons; WAY overpriced. We were put on the spot because of the timing. We were told that our drain tiles were collapsing (lie), and the work needed to be done ASAP. We signed on. We took off work and they didn't show up until the next day. We weren't provided a copy of the initial contract but the finance company already started financing us. When the work was being completed they wanted to charge us a lot extra for work we were told would be included and work that was outlined in the contract. The final invoices were less than the original bill but when I called on it they came up with new figures to keep the original price. When the work was completed they didn't do everything they said they would yet didn't discount any price. ****FOLLOW UP*** Mr. Rooter told us to wait a year for the dirt to settle then re plant lawn. It's been over a year and we see that they never installed a cleanout as they were supposed to. Also, we found out that they never tied the original drain tile into the system, now our basement leaks because the water has nowhere to go. After a little research We found that they NEVER pulled a permit. Mr. Rooter is a scam!!!!!!
841.00 dollars later, my kitchen drains are still clogged, and water is still sitting in the bottom of my dishwasher when i use it and they won't return my emails or calls. The tech said after hydro jetting the drain that if it didn't work, they wouldn't charge me for it, well, it didn't work I know this because 10 minutes after they left, I turned on the water in my sink and it was still not draining and instead of the water sitting there for 5 minutes( the time it took to drain before their visit) before it went all the way down the drain, it sat there for 30 minutes after they were here, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR IT, and the tech's solution was, "We can set up an appointment in the spring to rehang your pipe under your mobile home cause maybe that's why it's still not draining." Oh yeah, and that service will be approx. 2500.00 dollars!!! Steer clear of this money sucking company, they only want the money for no results.
I called and made a complaint about one of the employees .And the owner was suppose to return my call I have been calling every other day and I have not heard anything back from them. it's been a month now .One of the employees came to my house to unclog my bathroom sink and he told me this stuff called BIO Choice Es would unclog my sink within 3 to 4 days. I told the young man that I called to have my bathroom sink snaked out and he said he didn't have time and he guaranteed that this BIO Choice would work, he also change me for a elbow pipe fitting with a new one and he charge me a $100.00 for it and the part is only cost $5.00 and a $100.00 for 3 bottles of this BIO stuff after the worker left 2 day later I called customer service to let them know my bathroom had flooded over night because he didn't tighten the elbow fitting . Now the company will not return any of my calls. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone
I live in Virginia, just outside of Washington DC. I have called Mr. Rooter Plumbing for a few big jobs I needed fixed. Both involved my main basement drain. About five years ago my basement drain was clogged and water was backing up into my basement. Then about a year ago I had a big problem with drain flies. I tried many solutions but nothing worked until I had Mr. Rooter do a major flush of that same basement drain. On both jobs they were prompt, knowledgably and successful at solving both problems. They were polite and cleaned up the mess afterward. I would have given them five stars had there price been somewhat cheaper. There prices are not the lowest around, but both times they solved my serious drain issues. I guess you get what you pay for. My drain seems to have a clogging problem every 4 years. I will call Mr. Rooter next time to fix it again.
This review is for mr rooter of Santa Cruz California, and I can NOT find any thing good to say about them. They never showed for a emergency appointment, we relied on them and mr rooter let us down. When we called the lady was rude and told us to go elsewhere for service. We used another plumber who was at our kitchen faucet in an hour and fixed the leak at less then the mr rooter quote, mr rooter $350.00 the new plumber $99.00.
On Oct 22 I had a very expensive service performed by Mr. Rooter of Longview, WA, they gave me a astronomical quote knowing they were the only place in 3 counties. I could not find anyone else, that is the usual problem in this area for getting anything done. They took about 4 hours to perform the job, messed it up and after much stress and back and forth I got a partial amount off my initial huge bill. They had lied to me about what it would take to do the job, and nearly fried my pump. They said it would require a journeyman plumber and led me to think it be all day, it was a 4 hr job, 2 laborers. No cleanup. 11 days later my grinder pump in the tank quit and my overflow alarm went off. I turned off the breaker when I heard it, I do not know how long it was jammed up before I got it off. The pump was less than 1 year old. I contacted Mr. Rooter out of Longview, WA to come out and diagnose the problem the next day. The tech they sent made a cursory inspection and said the pump was shot and left. I called the good company that installed it, they were in the area and came out. They actually pulled the pump out of the tank, really inspected it, got the rocks it had sucked up from the bad company's repair out of it and the pump working again. And cleaned the rocks and concrete debris out of the tank that Mr Rooter had left from the previous job. Who knows how much of its life was shortened from it being jammed up and not able to spin. The bill to have the good company clean up and fix the bad company's mistake is $520.00. And a bunch of undue stress and anxiety from the bad experiences with Mr. Rooter out of Longview. Who blatantly refused to meet that guarantee, and nearly failed to meet that guarantee when they first came out also. They are incompetent, hugely overcharge and refuse to honor their guarantee. PS, A few days later something else they did BROKE and I am blackmailed into cancelling my chargeback so they would fix the new damage they caused!!!!!!!
I have used this company in the past and was satisfied, which is why my most recent experience was so disappointing. I needed the flange and seal replaced on a toilet. The first indication of trouble was how difficult it was to make an appointment - I had to chase them. Once we set a day, I was told the technician would be on site between 10 and 12. At 12:24 the truck rolls up and the technician then spends 17 minutes talking on the phone in front of my house. He did not come up to the house until I texted him. When he came in there was no apology for being late. He fixed the toilet, though I know I overpaid (which is on me), but did not properly clean up after his work. I have three properties and I will never use this service again.
Mark was great. He came early and did the job quickly and showed me that it was cleaned and left with no issues and no backup. He was very courteous and very informative. Thank You for the great job and I won’t hesitate to call you again when the problem reoccurs due to my tree.
Brian from the DFW Farmington branch Mr. Rooter responded to my urgent call for service on a clogged French drain. His work was excellent, he was on time and did everything exactly as he said he would.
I hired this company to unclog the drain, called them around 6pm told me it would be within a hour. He didn’t show up until 10:30pm and told me toilet couldn’t put back at 12:15 Am ( midnight) because they were not installed properly, although toilet is in used for many years without any issue. And then they charge me $530+tax more to install a toilet ( does not include new toilet) we have to get. This company is a scam, does not align with commercial message! Totally a highway robbery. It costs me over ONE thousand dollar to clear sewer Clog!! Terrible company, don’t use them!
Bryan Ellerbroek was our plumber in Sioux Falls. He was very professional and competent. He opened up our kitchen drain which was plugged and noticed that our older home still had galvanized pipe and recommended that we convert it to PVC for much better drainage, We agreed and he came back soon to accomplish this difficult task in a speedy manner. Bryan also went above-and-beyond and fixed our washing machine hose to drain directly into the sewer instead of going through a side tub first. Yaaaay, Bryan.
Mr. Rooter Plumbing in Camp Verde was fantastic. Called them and got an appointment within the hour. Taylor and Dustin were fantastic service professionals. They answered all my questions and provided simple and sound advice for my water softener and other plumbing needs. Would recommend them to anyone.
I would give it zero stars, but at least they showed up. I looked at some of the reviews and it seems there's a commonality..they are scammers and unfortunately, they probably know the law and can get by with it. I needed them asap due to a water heater leak. They answered the phone on a weekend.. I couldn't get ahold of anyone else. I asked if they were COMPETITIVE with other area plumbers..they said YES.They charged $600 above the going rate ( I found out later by calling 4 other plumbers). They won't give an estimate..say installer will do it upon arrival or will charge for the visit if you decide not to go with it. Seems like another scam tactic they use. When I called an office they have in Oregon about this..they said too bad..I agreed to their bill, which had to be paid at time of service. I thought it was high..but didn't realize they were 1/2 again as much as the estimates I got later. I trusted them! Its too bad they do this, as they take advantage of people. In my case, I'm a senior citizen, ex Navy, on a limited income. I'm sure they would overcharge anyone, anytime, since in this case they flat-out told me "there was nothing that I could do about it!"
The service tech that came out was a scammer looking to overcharge for service. I had water hammering in my house and he said to change the fill values on 2 toilets for $325 if that doesn't do it to add water hammer values on the washing machine. Then he said if that doesn't fit it you need a new regulator which would be $2100 to rep I fixed the regulator at Home Depot for $88 which a another plumber told me which one to get and that would solve the issue. Would not recommend this company they overcharge and change everything to fix the problem and increase the bill. Update: I spoke two different reps Saturday and Sunday both said they would forward to a supervisor. Obviously the company didn't forward, nor care to resolve the issue is a second rep ask what the issue was.
Plumber Philip was great ,helpful and courteous to our needs. Snaking out unknown backup plumbing. He found source was outside home and part of HOA. He even went and spoke with HOA with my husband. Although not able to record what his video snake saw. Plumber Philip said we have a free visit is it acts up again, also said if HOA gives a problem to please call them back in. Their invoice stated their assessment and included HOA responsible for exterior of issue. When we called Mr.Roto Rooter back to advise on needs of video and/or picture per HOA , we were told I would get a call back and never did. It took me and my husband to both call them again, the Manager Phil said they charge another $613 for redo with different equipment to give video since original one couldnt, this new would do recording. We were surprised at request especially since it wasn't advised it would be extra for recording needs "new equipment". Plumber said his equipment couldn't record. We didn't know that it would be another charge for another with equipment needs with recording. Why not have that equipment on first place instead wasting time and money. It would have been nice to advise us if such or when we called apologize it wasnt disclosed and come as a courtesy for video picture needs. Manager Phil said $613 is it and nothing else. Then mentioned he was off that day plumber came and he only has the equipment or could quote cost. I advised him that was unfair and work was not disclosed properly after paying $445 and now they want another $613 for same thing to be done with now a recorder. No thank you. It seems like they want to take advantage and not disclose to their plumbers of equipment pricing on jobs ahead of time .Instead wait til more is needed.

Sep 22,2022I think when you pay for a service, you should get a good faith effort at success. Sure he was late. Sure the charge for clearing a clog would be exorbitant. Over a barrel, though, right? The tech was friendly enough, but after trying to snake my kitchen sink for 5 minutes or so, he said he couldn't clear it from the sink. Down we went into the crawl space and found the joint where the clog probably was. To our good fortune, the pvc pipe had been spliced about a foot from that joint. So it should have been easy enough to unscrew that little splice and run the snake from there. I suggested as much and he said, "I will not do that." First it was because if it worked, water would come pouring into the crawlspace, then because it risked damaging a pipe (although I had already released Mr. Rooter from liability for things like that). So rather than the $300 it was supposed to cost to clear the drain, he only charged me $100 for his 30 minutes of not fixing it, or continuing to try. But no worries of course, because they can send someone out to replace who knows how many pipes. (You saw that one coming, didn't your?) So they got my $100 and they would want "well over a thousand" to replace some pipes. I think any service implies a good faith effort at success, and this service fell short. It is really that simple. They should be ashamed. Their premium prices should reflect a premium effort. Be warned, if your sink is clogged, it is probably because Mr. Rooter thinks you need thousands of dollars of new pipes. PS- After he left, I went down with my dollar store hand snake and cleared it by going through the splice area like we had discussed. PPS- I notice that their website includes numerous positive reviews, all of them 5 stars in fact. The most recent was 2020. Just saying.
