A particularly difficult drain clog was handled efficiently and successfully by Reyes Chavez and his field tech associate. Made a dismal day turn bright and shiny. Plus the charge was perfectly reasonable. Mr. Rooter now and forever!
I'd give zero stars if I could. This company preys on people's sense of urgency. My husband and I flip homes, but did not have time to deal with a clog in our tenants kitchen sink line, so we called Mr. Rooter to deal with it. A van arrived with “D. Rhodes” logo on it (they must just sub out the jobs). The technician charged us an exorbitant amount of money (just shy of $1000) for less than one-hour worth of non-technical work (to snake the sink and replace its PVC P trap, which I believe he destroyed during the process) with minimal expertise for a simple job. I gave him my American Express card and he forced me to sign his tablet saying it was confirmation that they came out. About a week later we received an email with the bill of which the explanation of service was much exaggerated with several false statements. We contacted the Mr. Rooter office manager “Jennifer” to explain the situation and asked for the bill to be significantly reduced because of such. She said that she would have to speak with her upper management to get approval of such discount and that the technician would give us a call to discuss the fallacies on the bill of service, but both never got back to us after a plethora of calls back to her about the issue. We ended up disputing part of the charge with our American Express Corporate Account who told us that they credited us $100 but would not give us anything additional back because I signed the technician’s tablet, which was apparently agreeing to the exorbitant cost for the repair. Both this company and American Express dropped the ball on this one! Needless to say we will never use this company again and we canceled our American Express accounts as they do not back cardholders as they state they do. Avoid this company and American Express at all costs unless you want to be ripped off.
A gentleman by the name of Jeremiah came to clear the main line but could not. e knew what he was doing. He stood by his word and was very easy to work with by answering questions. If he did not know something, he answered truthfully. I was told someone would be by Monday with a camera so I will do an updated review thereafter.
I live next door to a neighbors who has huge, huge trees in their front yard. Ultimately the trunk of the trees entered the drain pipe clogging up their house resulting in no water able to come through the clogged lines. Chase & Dakota came out and after a initial consultation with the owner lives in Tennessee and rents the house the entire shared driveway that affects that house and mine had to be totally excavated to get to the root of the problem. It took Chase & Dakota 2 full days and part of both nights to dig deep enough to find the blockage and remove it. They were always polite and apologized for having torn up the shared driveway resulting in neither me or my neighbor able to park in our driveway. They stayed with it despite quite a few setbacks. They professionalism and the warmth they showed throughout this horrific ordeal makes me proud to have met what I call “ individuals who are committed to getting the job done. They both are the cream of the crop for this Peoria Mr. Rooter.
Ms Keltie Harper arrived early. She was very pleasant and professional, promptly providing a variety of service option for our primary problem with a range of firm estimates. She was flexible. She also stayed to provide service for a secondary problem, also promptly providing a range of service problems together with firm estimates. I would definitely recommend her services to anyone else, and will be requesting her by name for any future services. Five Stars!
Technician was late arriving Sloppy work habits I had to clean up after he left Hours after he left problem returned Came back next day with higher price solutions with no guarantee
The webpage clearly states that they line pipes. The moment they found out my race, there was nothing they would do to help me.
quick service took care of my problem and didnt break the bank
I am compelled to share my experience with this so-called “professional” from Mr. Rooter Plumbing, whose demeanor was nothing short of CONDESCENDING, DISCRIMINATORY, AND EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Here is context: I hired a General Contractor from MP Home Repairs and Remodeling for a bathroom extension project. Part of this project was to reposition the dryer in laundry and therefore the gas line from underneath as per the repositioned dryer. The plumber working on the project admitted that his expertise with gas lines were not great and suggested me to hire a professional for that. Apparently, this surprised me as I was disappointed with what they said regarding the gas line. I called back MP Home Remodeling requesting them to send someone else who could do that. The company unfortunately said none of their staff has that expertise and advised me to go on google and look for someone. I started calling companies explaining the unique need. And I landed on this company “Mr. Rooter Plumbing” with a tag line “A Neighborly company”. The job was to move the gas line as per the repositioned dryer, over the call, I EXPLAINED THE SPECIFICS OF MY NEED (check your call records if someone from the company is reading this). They scheduled a time and this “Professional” appeared at my door . After me explaining what needs to be done, he started being disrespectful and awfully condescending to me and to the other party who were working on the bathroom project. He barely spent 10 minutes and all the while being cynical, scornful, dismissive, and disinterested. Although his choice of words were careful, it was apparent on his face how contemptuous he was. His histrionics and façade made me feel belittled, disheartened and ultimately terrible about this “neighborly company” . Professionalism doesn’t just come with a uniform and driving a fancy vehicle with the company brand on it. It’s about how you make your customer feel about you, your service and eventually your company. I am not saying everybody in the company are like that but this man, God! And his outrageous quote just before leaving “And for you its TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS PLUS FINE”. What sort of AUTHORITY this licensed plumber has - to say, “Plus Fine” in my house. I didn’t understand the reason why he behaved like that, and I didn’t care to ask either. Please remove the point “COURTEOUS PROFESSIONALS”, which is listed under “Great Reasons to Choose Mr. Rooter Plumbing” on your website. It doesn’t belong there. I determined not to ever call this company for any service and also to spread the word.
Scott Bennett was my plumber in Saginaw MI and he put in some new piping and a laundry tub in my basement, and he did an awesome job in great timing.
Scotty was my service man in Midland MI for a broken garbage disposal. Service was fast and he explained things I needed to know. Highly recommend. Thank you Scotty.
Never have them in my home again! Charged $295 to clear a toilet drain and had to come back 3 times because the toilet leaked after they reset it. Was late to the appointment, put nothing over their shoes and it was snowing & icy out. Left a mess to clean up and scratched my vinyl plank floor. The first guy they sent out to fix it was on crutches. What company does that especially in the snow! Next guy so big he barely fit in my bathroom, yes it small but he wasn't. Beware, I will never have them in my home again.
Mr. Rooter is NOT a SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT when it comes to PLUMBING. Given that I used them in the past, trusted their work, and I called Mr. Rooter for help again. I spent over $6,700 on a water leak that was not discovered and repaired on my rental property in November 2023. The water leak was later discovered by a contractor I hired to remove the mold in the bathroom after Mr. Rooter claimed they repaired the pipes that caused the water leak. The sheetrock was removed around the tub where the water was leaking. He confirmed that the water leak was coming from the water line installed by Mr. Rooter back in June 2022. During that time, the water was leaking out of the tub faucet and shower and Mr. Rooter changed the water lines. However, Mr. Rooter neglected to ensure the lines replaced were not leaking water. The water leak overtime caused mold in the bathroom ceiling and walls. I’ve spent thousands of dollars for work they didn’t fix over a year ago. I talked with a manager of the water leak they never discovered and needed them to repair the leak, or I’ll dispute the charges. Of course, he denied that it wasn’t part of their scope of work. I told him the only assessment they needed to do was to find the water leak and fix it instead they replaced unnecessary pipes. I text messaged Bob, the other manager who I’ve been working with since the beginning of the problem to ensure he knows what’s going on. He didn’t respond back about getting the water leak repaired. I also emailed Mr. Rooter regarding the water leak that was never discovered and repaired, and I wanted to dispute the charges, or they come fix it by a given deadline. I gave them steps I’m planning to do since they did not respond with deadline. I’m letting everyone know that they are FRAUDSTERS and CANNOT be trusted. Do not be a victim like me.
We had a drain cleaning coupon for $99.00, but the plumber said that did not apply. A sense of misrepresentation. This was an exorbitant charge for the work performed.
The one star was for the gentleman who came. Out. This company is a scam. Called for an issue after hrs and never did the CSR tell me company does free estimates during business hours. Now their trying to charge my card without consent for over $300 without even putting a shovel in the grond. If I would have known they did FREE estimates I would have just waited till the morning. COMMON SENSE..... I let the gentleman know before he left because he tried to have me sign the waiver to pay. I said absolutely not and they still tried to get payment from my card..... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Is there less than one star. How about minus Five. These guys are Brutal. RUN AWAY. They upsold me from a 350$ Snake my toilet ( I told them my BF has done so with a 15 ft snake so it would need to be longer ). I agreed Stupidly to a 550$ remove tank because if it plugged again in 30 days it was warranty. Which it did only to find out A) they only snaked 2-3 feet and B) there was no warranty on labour. HA. 585$ for 30 min and zero results. Maybe it’s the flush valve the guy says - I dunno. But I can replace that ( a 20$ part ) for another 225$. Once I got a proper pluming company he found the issue in five minutes. Repaired it properly in one hour offered to replace the ball Cock—- Just for courtesy and it cost me 250$ Mr Roto is a disaster ! Good riddens. Spreading the word ever single chance I get.
We were overall pleased with the four young men who worked in our home (Justin, Eric, Jake, Hunter). They were polite and hard working. However, we felt that they often lacked organization and supervision. The job was suppose to last 5 days; they were at our house 14 days. Two days only one person was on the job; other days had just two men. The job began by them digging by hand. Much time was wasted before they rented the excavator. Much of the yard was damaged because sod was placed on live grass and left there 12 days. Half of our sprinkler system no longer works. In the master bathroom, a new shower was installed. The shower curtain and grab rails got thrown out. Rocks and pvc pipes were found left under the carpet that had been pulled up. They asked for $6000 more than the contract agreement. When told about the undone stuff, they promised to return after the weekend. We haven't seen anyone and now don't expect to.
Unclogged commode with 6 foot snake for $236.00. We had a drain cleaning coupon for $99.00 but plumber said that did not apply. A sense of mis-representation. This was an exorbitant charge for work performed but plumber was pleasant and commode flushes.
Do not make the mistake that I did by not paying attention to the charge versus the actual work done by Mr. Rooter (associated with Airseve). To replace two basic water line valves (Cost even inflated $50) and a bathtub drain pipe (which I supplied!) I was charged over $500 for a job that took the individual only 50 minutes to complete. You do the math on the labor! I have to own my own stupidity, but even when I called their office to complain, they said they would look into it. No callback or response from them. Just got my credit card bill, and of course, they charged the full amount. Was I stupid for agreeing to the work, Yes. But when labor is being applied at $400/hr…. what crosses your mind about the integrity of the business? PLEASE don't make the mistake I made! Find someone else.

May 17,2024Mr. Rooter of Daytona ripped me off. I had been wanting to add a city water shut off valve at the house but didn't know where the water line at the house was located. The city shut off is at the street 120 feet away from the house. I was having the underground power line replaced and lucky for me they located the water line a few feet from the house. Mr. Rooter charged me 800.00 to install a 1 inch PVC valve. No digging, the water line was already exposed, and I even supplied the valve box that was simply placed over the valve. They were here less than one hour. They took advantage of me.
