Charged my 89 year old aunt 366:00 to change the flush valve on her toilet. No up front pricing like they say in their advertising.when I called the manager he said that was their price and there is nothing they can do. What a ripoff, they take advantage of older people. Do not use them

Very impressive and nice rep came to house to do estimate. When estimate came everything grossly marked up so job price to install water heater with minor accessories amounted to $1480 above the price of the water heater. They contract with Lowe’s and are taking advantage of people.

We had an obstructed drain line in the kitchen which turned out to be external to the house. We were unable to use the sink, escalating the need for timely service. We called around and a plumber from Mr. Rooter was immediately available. He showed up and quickly identified the obstruction with a camera. He explained our options and had the problem solved with a one year warranty to his work. I would use Mr. Rooter again in a similar emergency. The only issue stopping me from giving this provider 5 stars was the price. They seemed a bit high, but paying a little more in this circumstance was a trivial consideration.

They asked for a review so here it is.. I called for a stopped up drain line after we used our own 3 inch snake which help some but felt something was still in there. The two technicians showed up on a Sunday and were nice(which is why they get a 2 star) They said it was flushing fine and found no issues after adding a lot of tissue to the toilet. We asked them to run a snake with a larger clearing capacity that could possible go through the line to the street, because it was not fine. They ran a snake only 3 ft longer than what we had. They then ran a camera to show it was flushing fine but said the toilet was old and needed to be replaced, it has a low flushing pressure which was causing the stoppage, told us if we didn't want to replace it to just practice extra flushing habits. The next day it stopped up again but cleared after we plunged it. I do not use that bathroom so when I was informed by the person that does that it was still doing it. I called back, and got the run a round from a supervisor. The receptionist was great and did her best to handle the call. While speaking with that supervisor who then decided to put a so called expert from their team on the phone. After gong in circles with him they agreed to come back out. They never showed back up or called. I am having to call another plumber out to clear the line. They advertise no extra cost for coming out anytime. Not true, they work that after hour cost in to the price. It caused me $200. I truly feel I was overcharged. If the line was not clogged based on their diagnosis then why was I charged to unstopped the line and not just a quote for a new toilet?

Removed my toilet to reinstall one of the screws that got loose and decided to have a plumber do it because it's a new house for us. Price quote was $435 just to put the toilet back in place. I paid the $49.95 visit fee and then went to a local hardware store to buy the bolts and wax for $21. That is way too much for a maximum 30-minute job.

Mr. Rooter is 5 Star in Excellence & Service! Santiago & Darrell were prompt, professional, personable and fixed the drain issue with ease & know-how. I appreciate their high level of service & knowledge. Thank you Santiago & Darrell! Additionally thank you to Dawn, who took my call & set up the appointment. I highly recommend Mr. Rooter of Solano, CCC, Tri-Valley!

Terrible service. Unorganized and charges exorbitant costs without any clear explanation of cost basis. A one hour job with minimal expertise required they will gouge you during emergency stressful situations for more than $1000 per hour for a simple job. Zero explanation of why the cost is so high and whether justified. Avoid at all costs unless you want to be ripped off. They refuse to negotiate because they know they have the leverage when your pipes are broken.

Mr rooter has done some work for me a couple of times they’ve done what I’ve asked did not have any idea what i should have been charged until i had a real plumber come out i found out i was charged about three times more than what it should have been but i agreed to the price not knowing my advice to anyone needing a plumber to find one locally not one who has to advertise on tv or all over the internet or any nationwide company and to get a couple of quotes

Technician tried to sell us a maintenance plan...seemed more interest in that than the actual job...He then says it will be 2200! What?!!! Then he rips up our lawn looking for the septic tank lid...we told him three times he was in the wrong area...we ended up with a 5 foot by 2 foot trough & he still didn't find it! We politely told him to leave our property & he said "Give me a couple more hours I'll find the lid"...Seriously? We would like restitution for the damage to our lawn. The last company that did it made a square lifted it up did the septic & replaced the lawn square no problem...Our experience was a nightmare!

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! The immense lack of professionalism, communication and care is unbelievable from a company. We had major plumbing issues that required a lot. I thought the initial call was perfectly fine only to go south. My water heater had to be moved in order to complete the job, they refuse to move it back unless I pay for a new water heater, which I do not need. Failed to protect my own personal property, there was mud all over my personal items. Mud all over my floor, tracked through my house and refused to clean or take any care. I cannot understand how they continue to have customers as the owner was extremely rude and unwilling to handle a customer complaint, only defend the poor work.

When Tim Boyle showed up promptly when they said they would he was very professional and very knowledgable of how to proceed with my problem. This is the only time I have received guaranteed service with a warranty if the same situation happens again they will come once to correct for free!!! What a company. Will use this company for the rest of my days for any plumbing issues. Thanks Tim!!

Bad experience at Mr Rooter. Rude customer service. Poor communication skills. Not professional. Never ever ask business with you. Root Rooter is 200% better and professional than Mr Rooter!

Do not use these people. They caused THOUSANDS in damage, admitted it and won't fix it!!!!! No idea how they have so many good reviews on google. And I rarely leave bad reviews. It takes A LOT. And to the company - don't reply to this asking me to contact you. We've tried. So many times since this began. You have our contact info if you want to make this right. Their inexperienced (lazy?) technicians will leave a job unfinished, causing more damage (in our case mud sucked into every plumbing fixture in our home) and then hand you a bill to repair what they broke. I could write you a novel about the first unprofessional tech who was in a hurry to get to a more lucrative job. Their second tech who needs anger management classes and their rude office staff. Here's the kicker - the third tech they sent out was amazing. (Shout out to Clinton who was decent and efficient) He repaired some of the issues at no cost because they knew it was their fault. Left a quote for the ruined fixtures that couldn't be fixed with bleeding the lines. And then the office, after doing that part for $0, told us they won't fix the rest. So only the mud in the repairable fixtures was your fault? The ruined ones are ours? HOW? Their quote, without the new fixtures that have to be bought, is thousands. THOUSANDS. For something they broke. Also their first tech said he tried to finish the job and come in to bleed the lines and we declined but wrote on his invoice that, after his repair failed two times prior, it needed to cure overnight and he couldn't check the water pressure. How are you offering to bleed lines when the water is off? Then he stated we tried to finish the repair before he arrived back at a scheduled appt the next day to fix it. We have in text where he's telling us how to finish the repair and asking if he needs to come back!! There was no scheduled appt. Or any plans for him to return. Because when we called the office to complain the tech called us back mad we called the office and saying he said he would come back. And the second tech screamed at me and said I screamed at him. My husband pointed at the camera on our front porch and said my wife didn't scream at you. He backed down so fast. And got super conciliatory. They say their work is guaranteed but when their techs mess up they won't fix it!!' These people are dishonest. 2/3 techs we got sent out were sub par and, as a female, not people I would ever want in my home while I was alone. Management is laughable. Avoid these people. I cannot say it enough. I'm sure some of that they do is fine. But when a problem occurs that they caused they won't make you whole. Don't be stuck with thousands in repairs like we are!!!!

Our service agent "Tom" was fantastic. He was on time and very professional. I have used them 3 times now and I am pleased. Shower handle broke but Tom had us back on track shortly after arrival. In fact, during another visit, he was able to fix my water heater when no one else could.

We called Mr. Rooter twice now. The 1st time was in 2021 when the hot water heater suddenly stopped working and needed to be replaced. The 2d time was this week (the long Labor Day weekend, 2023) when we had a leak in the basement. Each time, Rich was the technician who fixed the problem. Rich is very careful, thorough, and reliable. We are pleased with the work that Rich did in replacing the water heater and fixing the leak. Based on our experience with Rich, we recommend Mr. Rooter - as long as you get Rich as your technician. We don’t know if the others are as experienced.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. came to unclog 2 toilets. couldnt do the job for one of them and then quoted me $455 to fix it. fixed one toilet for $245 + tax = $261. I told him when he left that it wasnt flushing properly still. he said it will get stronger. it has gotten worse and now 10 days later its broken again. they wont warranty it. he was nasty on the phone with me. told me that i have to pay another $261 to fix it again. i told him no thanks. will be disputing the charge on my credit card and finding another provider.

I was not pleased with the way I was talked to. I spent a few thousand dollars within a few days and was treated like crap when I disputed some charges. Get a second and a third estimate is the lesson I learned. I asked to be removed from any advertisements or emails from this company. They will no longer get any future business from me. I am disappointed that this is a woman-owned company, and they treat women like this. Just like people, companies reap what they sow.

The tech broke my toilet with the snake, then wanted $500 for a new one, stating it's normally $1300. In what world is a toilet $1300? I bought a new one for $159 from H. Depot and installed it ourselves. Also was charged additional $100 because there were some bushes in the way of the trap. It cost me over $900 to snake a drain line. Last time, I used Roto-Rooter and it was $622 with no broken toilet. Your company can and should do better. I was also charged a 3% transaction fee for using a credit card, which is actually a violation of NYS law.
